Gacha Player: My Luck is Multiplied 10x

Chapter 27: The Witch’s Declaration

Qwanisha and Max were fuming in anger. However, what could they do? The moment the other races firmly decided a single decision, rare chances of happening as disagreement would usually appear, the humans knew they were at the disadvantage–they didn't have the qualifications to even raise their opinion.

Qwanisha and Max looked at each other and seemingly reached an agreement. They knew similar cases of today's event would happen and might happen a long time ago, so they were very prepared.

"If Kaiju won't survive, then we will kill ourselves." That was what they were about to say. They knew that the statement would threaten the other races. The latter might have to wait for another decade for similar humans to appear in the Hellish Trial… or not at all.

After all, humans were cautious by nature. Now that there was no news to those who bravely entered the Hellish Trial, proudly even publicly announcing it, they might not attempt.

Hence, they knew it would work. However… they simultaneously glance at the witch, through their peripheral vision, the witch seemed to have been taken by a shock. As expected, the witch's face turned ugly as she was staring at Kaiju.

Qwanisha's heart skipped a beat. Max, on the other hand, suddenly felt like Kaiju might have survived, causing the witch, known for being so proud about their curse, to have such an intense reaction. Max stared intensely at Kaiju, and the latter's body suddenly collapsed.

His heart skipped a beat, Qwanisha wailed. Was she wrong? It shouldn't be. Max failed to react to Qwanisha's sprint towards Kaiju, seemingly ignoring the presence of the witch. Max quickly followed her, not wanting his future wife to be harmed by a witch. Only the witch could get rid of the curse, and knowing how proudful the witch was, it would be certain his future wife would carry the curse until she ceased to live.

He certainly did not want it to happen. Hence, he quickly tried to restrain her while staring cautiously at the witch. After all, he knew he would not be able to catch up to her future wife–so agile and swift that it was even difficult to catch her silhouette. At this point, he could only think of pushing the witch away from Kaiju with his movement skill.

However, who would have thought the witch suddenly disappeared, leaving no trace behind of her existence? Max glanced at Kaiju and Qwanisha, the latter hugging Kaiju in her embrace, while pressing her fingers on Kaiju's neck. Seeing Qwanisha's face painted with relief, Max calmed down somewhat.

Max's job right now was to ensure the safety of Kaiju and Qwanisha. He swept his eyes to his surroundings, wanting to catch even the silhouette of the witch. At this point, he also realized the difference in rank between the witch and him. For sure, the witch was an awakener rank, similar to him, but why was there a massive disparity between them?

The simple explanation would be the talent each race carried. The only advantage humans had, perhaps, was their intelligence. Although he could not catch the sudden disappearance of the witch at all, with the information he carried, he knew it was a type of a curse skill that manipulates time and space.

Simply put, a teleportation skill. Of course, it was only a type of teleportation skill because teleportation skill has a wide range. However, the curse skill that made the witch teleport to other places has limited range. The smallest range of the teleportation skill was on humans, which they called, Blink.

The witch had skills similar to blink, but their range was larger, and the space and time they left and arrived contained traces of curse. Such the difference between the skills, despite having the same rank, was immense and impactful.

Max acknowledged this. He treaded towards Qwanisha and Kaiju, the former cast a relief expression at him to which he smiled in response. When he arrived near them, the grey werewolf, who was silent the moment the witch vanished to prevent being humiliated, growled.

"We will give you six months at most. I'll explain this to His Alpha." He vanished.

The infernal did the same, leaving in silence, but his teleportation skill seemed to be conspicuous. The area he left was covered with flames. It exploded when he vanished. Max could only sigh as he could only perform blink without such special effects. Yet, it was already a Rare rank skill, as it manipulates time and space– superior elements.

One after another, the other races who had chosen not to reveal themselves left. Max could discern no eyes setting on them, so he was assured they had finally left. He then focused on Qwanisha and the latter met his gaze.

They, at the same time, exhaled for a long time, filled with relief. They stared at each other for a while before Max glanced at Kaiju and asked, "How is he doing?"

"Undetermined. We should go look for Faith and have her check him."

Max nodded.

"Right. They should have returned to our base." Max stared at Kaiju for a while and then uttered under his breath, "Hopefully, the kid won't sleep for long."

Qwanisha nodded and stood up while carrying kaiju in her arms. "It might not be. The moment this kid survives from the curse attack from the witch, he should have obtained a passive skill, a Curse Resistance Skill. With the appearance of the skill, he might recuperate from the curse attack quickly."

Max nodded and then grabbed Kaiju out of Qwanisha's arm. Qwanisha didn't mind as she knew she was more suitable in clearing the path towards their base. Qwanisha has a ranger class after being awakened, so it was also her job to scout.

Max, on the other hand, is a warrior, known for their powerful attacks and defensive technique. Warriors have two paths and Max was choosing the path of a defensive type of warrior.

Qwanisha nimbly climbed through the branches and scout towards their base. Overall, there were three more humans–a swordsman, healer, and a mage. They should have been long prepared in another raid of the burg, but with an additional helpful beastmaster, their efficiency would rapidly increase.

Qwanisha glanced at Snow and Little Gorilla lying not far from Kaiju. They instantly fell unconscious the moment their master ate the apple. Max went towards them and placed them above Kaiju's stomach. Qwanisha caught Snow's expression loosened and appeared relaxed after she was placed above her master. Little Gorilla, on the other hand, continued to sleep, not knowing what really happened.
