Chapter 26: Curse Torment
Pain, an excruciating deep pain Kaiju haven't felt for a while. Despite his Pain Tolerance skill, a Rare rank at that, it only dwindles the pain somewhat. Perhaps, if it was not for the skill, he might have fainted a long time ago.
Although he was taken by shock, Kaiju endured it. He gritted his teeth while standing on all fours, while clutching his hand, forming into fist, to lessen the degree of pain, at least. However, it was tormenting. He could even hear his bone cracking, his blood boiling as though it was in chaos. Blue, red, violet… all of the colors in the rainbow were slithering all over his skin, his veins bulging out.
His body continued to convulse. He experienced various illnesses in a split second. Hallucinations, disease, senses disability, heart even skipping a beat from time to time, and he instantly felt so very weak. However, the very fact he continued to stand on all fours conveyed his resilience to endure the pain.
Even causing the surrounding people to gasp in admiration.
Kaiju did not only experience physical attack, even his mental health as he was experiencing a nightmare.
Would you believe it if he was currently in the fourth hour of his nightmare when in reality, not even four seconds has passed yet? In the nightmare, Kaiju fought against various monsters, even beasts. He even heard the guffaw of the witch, as though she was watching everything in amusement, and could see everything while Kaiju could not even spot her silhouette.
If the sky of the Hellish Trial was gloomy and dreadful, the world of his nightmare was even more so–crimson dark world, withered trees, barren expanse, countless monsters and beasts. What was worse was all the latter's target was him, drowning him, while Kaiju was trying his best to repel them but to no avail.
The nightmare didn't end when he died, instead, he was revived and continued to experience the same nightmare again and again.
Slowly… Kaiju felt despair. The cycle kept repeating, he was already beyond his limit. If it was not for the rapid growth he accumulated in the past week, he wouldn't have lasted for more than four hours long.
Kaiju slowly had fallen into despair, not even trying anymore to protect himself but gritted his teeth in response while letting the monster devour him whole. The witch continued to laugh, and before despair consumed him, he suddenly felt infuriated. He realized he didn't like the idea of being controlled by others at all. They were laughing in the dark while he was suffering from their mischievousness.
For the first time, he exploded into madness, screaming while waving his dagger. He ran rampant, shouting the witch, taunting the latter so he could take revenge. However, before he knew it, the world suddenly changed. Kaiju's body had long fainted from shock, and now that the nightmare finally ended, Kaiju had also lost his consciousness.

The instant Kaiju ate the apple, Qwanisha screamed in panic, "Kid!"
She was about to run towards Kaiju but Max held her strongly. Max embraced Qwanisha, preventing her from nearing the witch, as the latter was standing in front of Kaiju. Max stared intensely at the witch, also ready to take action even if he was risking his life. Of course, Max was not dumb to attack something that would provide no meaning, seemingly just giving his life away for nothing. He was confident the witch wouldn't take his life, knowing how significant humans were on the mission of the Trial.
"Don't stop me, Max!" Qwanisha screamed at the top of her lungs. "You! Get away from him!" Qwanisha almost cursed the witch but instinctively, knowing the powers of the witch–they could return the curse with a thousand times impactful to the person who cursed them, she restrained herself sub-consciously.
She was still staring at Kaiju, who was obviously deep in shock. Kaiju's face twitched from time to time, even reaching the point where it was excessive. Qwanisha's heart pangs in pain, it has been many years since she encountered another human partaking in the trial and it was a kid at that. For some reason, her motherly nature, though haven't yet but rather formed inside the trial, kicked in.
She desired to protect and help Kaiju out of his misery.
"Stop holding me, Max! What are you doing?!" Qwanisha snappily turned her head and screamed at Max, holding her tightly while closing his eyes as Qwanisha was splashing some of her saliva after berating him.
"Settle down!" The lover's quarrel was instantly frozen the moment the witch had finally opened her mouth.
She didn't like being disturbed at all, as she was observing the changes the bold Kaiju was having. No doubt, she was surprised by his action and confidently thought Kaiju would instantly die. However, who would have thought he was still enduring. Furthermore, the way Kaiju remained on all fours, it doesn't seem the curse would be able to kill him at all.
Hence, the witch was taking the sudden bizarre event seriously, now placing her whole attention on Kaiju.
At the same time, Qwanisha and Max settled down, as they felt the sudden solemnity of the witch while the latter was staring at Kaiju. They anxiously watched Kaiju suffering the torment the witch inflicted.
All of a sudden, without them noticing, the witch smiled.
She said, seemingly raising her voice for other races to hear, "If this kid manages to survive from my curse, we can give them another six months. However, if he won't, then there's no more reason to delay."
She stated that Kaiju was now on the peak of his suffering. The witch even confidently assumed Kaiju would not be able to survive. Although from her single glance at Kaiju, perceiving the strangeness of having a durable body but meager strength, she assumed Kaiju could only bear the physical assault but not the mental attack.
The infernal, werewolf and other races hiding in the dark glance at the witch in solemnity. The infernal grinned and nodded. The grey werewolf was guffawing while mockingly staring at Qwanisha and Max. Qwanisha and Max, on the other hand, appeared stunned. They soon felt their anger was rising.
The very fact that the witch raised it only meant one thing.
'Kaiju would die!'
