Chapter 13: Chapter 13 A Warm Scene

Chapter 13 A Warm Scene

Next, Lin Haoran planned to make his move in the stock market, but his operations had to be silent and discreet, to avoid anyone detecting his careful layout and strategies.

He understood the importance of confidentiality and had already decided to prepare and advance his investment plans without attracting attention.

Thus, finding a highly loyal stock trader had become Lin Haoran's most urgent need.

After spending some time studying his golden finger ability, he realized that the most effective way to increase a subordinate's loyalty was through generous help that deeply moved their hearts.

As the ancient saying goes, "A drop of water given in need should be repaid with a gushing spring."

Especially when encountering someone like Su Zhixue, who was facing an insurmountable hardship, Lin Haoran's timely assistance would undoubtedly strike a deep chord of gratitude.

At such critical moments, as long as the person's character was reliable, Lin Haoran could easily deepen the relationship through kindness and significantly boost loyalty.

On his way to Wanan Group earlier, Lin Haoran had already planned to find a loyal subordinate there.

With the ability to see loyalty progress bars, if after offering his help Su Zhixue's loyalty still wasn't high, he would simply abandon him and look for someone else.

However, he hadn't expected Su Zhixue's loyalty to reach 100% immediately.

This greatly surprised Lin Haoran—it was completely beyond his expectations.

Originally, he thought that achieving eighty or ninety in loyalty would already be satisfactory.

But no matter what, this was excellent news for him.

A loyalty level of 100% meant no betrayal.

Thus, he had no fear of his stock market actions leaking out.

"Alright, prepare yourself. You don't have to worry too much about your position at Wanan Group. Later, I'll go upstairs and talk to my father about it.

Starting tomorrow, you will officially work for me.

Tomorrow morning at eight-thirty, don't come to the company—just wait for me at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange," Lin Haoran said, patting Su Zhixue on the shoulder with a smile.

As a junior employee of a department, it would be a trivial matter for Lin Haoran to transfer him with his father's approval.

After leaving the Securities and Business Department, Lin Haoran went back to the chairman's office.

He mentioned the matter to his father, who agreed without hesitation and even personally called Minister Dai of the Securities Department to arrange it.

"Haoran, what exactly are you planning by hiring a stock trader?

Hong Kong's stock market is full of uncertainty and treacherous waters—it's no game.

The risks involved are not to be underestimated," Lin Wanan said, still curious and concerned even after agreeing.

"Dad, you know I majored in Business Administration at the University of London.

Now that I'm back working in Hong Kong, it's inevitable that I'll have to deal with the stock market in the future.

I want to get familiar with the market early on, and with the help of a stock trader, I'll be able to better understand market trends and make better business decisions down the road," Lin Haoran answered cleverly, skillfully avoiding a direct response with a reasonable explanation.

Hearing this, Lin Wanan did not press further on the issue.

"I'm getting ready to go home. Why don't you ride back with me?" Lin Wanan suggested.

"No, Dad. I still have some things to handle early tomorrow morning, so I plan to drive myself back tonight. It'll be more convenient," Lin Haoran declined politely.

"Alright, that's fine. Just don't stay up too late.

Your mother nags me every day, worrying that you're overworking and neglecting your health," Lin Wanan said, nodding with a fond expression.

After merging the memories of both his lives, Lin Haoran had deeply realized how much his parents loved and cared for him in this lifetime—especially his mother, whose meticulous care always warmed his heart.

Even his two married sisters remained deeply affectionate toward him.

Surrounded by such familial love, his heart was full of gratitude and happiness.

Unfortunately, his elder brother's actions had tarnished the family's harmony.

The brother's secret schemes made Lin Haoran realize that beneath the surface, this family wasn't as harmonious as it appeared.

Indeed, one rat spoiled the whole pot.

The Lin family villa was located near Deep Water Bay, a scenic area nestled between mountains and sea, adjacent to the famous Repulse Bay—one of Hong Kong's most prestigious luxury residential areas.

Tycoons like the King of Shipping and Li Jiacheng lived in this villa district.

In the evening, after leaving Wanan Group Tower, Lin Haoran first arranged for Li Weiguo and Li Weidong to stay at a hotel near Causeway Bay, then drove alone back home.

Upon arriving at the Lin family villa, he noticed his father's car was already parked.

Without thinking much of it, Lin Haoran parked his Mercedes-Benz next to his father's Rolls-Royce.

Just as he got out of the car, a sharp-eyed maid came up with a smile and greeted him respectfully,

"Young Master, welcome back. Dinner is ready. The Master and Madam are waiting for you to join them."

Lin Haoran nodded and entered the spacious, brightly lit villa.

As the maid had said, his parents were already seated at the elegantly decorated dining table, which was laden with a spread of delicious-looking dishes clearly prepared in anticipation of his return.

Seeing this heartwarming scene, Lin Haoran felt a surge of warmth in his chest and quickly walked over to join them.

"Haoran, come and sit. The kitchen is preparing a few more small dishes just for you. I'll get you a bowl of rice," his mother said, her face lighting up with joy the moment she saw him enter.

Compared to his aging father, Lin Haoran's mother, though also over sixty, appeared much healthier and more robust.

From his memories, he recalled that his mother was a kind and cheerful woman.

However, over the years, after his two elder sisters married and moved out, and after his elder brother Lin Haoning also moved out with his family, the once lively villa had gradually fallen into silence.

Though she remained strong, his mother's bright smile had faded somewhat, replaced by a quiet loneliness and longing for the old days of family gatherings.

"Mom, from now on, whenever I have time, I'll come back more often to keep you company," Lin Haoran said, gently taking his mother's hand and smiling warmly at her.

"And Dad, your health isn't what it used to be.

You really need to stop overworking.

There are professional managers at the company—you should let them handle things.

You should focus on resting and taking care of yourself instead of worrying about everything," Lin Haoran added, turning to his father with eyes full of genuine concern.

"Alright, Haoran, I'll listen to you. I'll take better care of my health," Lin Wanan said, a look of gratitude and affection flashing across his eyes.

He gently patted Lin Haoran's shoulder.

"My son has truly grown up," he said with heartfelt emotion.

Tears of joy welled up in his mother's eyes.
