Chapter 12: Chapter 11: A Talk Between Grandfather and His Granddaughter

While Poison Douluo Dugu Bo and Chrysanthemum Douluo sat in silent meditation, absorbing the spiritual essence of their respective immortal herbs, a deep calm fell over the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. The swirling mists danced lightly around them, disturbed only by the quiet sounds of nature—the bubbling of the spring, the gentle rustle of spiritual herbs, and the occasional crackle of elemental energy.

Qian Daoliu had been silent this entire time, watching from the side with his hands folded behind his back, his expression unreadable. Now, as the scene before him settled into stillness, he stepped forward, his gaze falling on Qian Renxue.

"Xue'er," he said, his voice low and steady. "Come walk with me."

Qian Renxue looked up at him and nodded, falling into step beside the towering figure of her grandfather. They walked slowly along the outer edge of the Yin Yang Well, the contrast of heat and cold a subtle pressure in the air between them.

For a while, neither spoke. It was a rare, almost fragile moment of peace.

"You've changed," Qian Daoliu finally said. "You're stronger. Not just in spirit power, but in presence. You've begun to truly resemble your mother… and even your grandmother."

He recalled the woman who had always supported him, but now gone leaving memories

Qian Renxue smiled faintly but didn't respond immediately.

He glanced sideways at her. "And yet, you walk a different path. One you're not ready to share yet."

She turned her purple eyes to meet his. There was a quiet weight in them—a mix of sorrow, resolve.

"Grandfather," she said, "Some truths can't be spoken until the time is right. There are things I need to do, things I need to understand. But I promise you—I'm not lost."

Qian Daoliu studied her closely. For a moment, he seemed almost to reach for something in her, but then he simply nodded.

"I won't press you," he said. "You're my granddaughter. And more than that… you're the one I believe in. I have always supported you, and I always will. No matter what secrets you hold, I trust your heart."

Qian Renxue exhaled softly, the tension in her shoulders loosening just slightly.

"Thank you," she murmured.

Just at that moment, a strong momentum surged through the misty air. Waves of spirit energy rippled outward, like tremors in a still lake. Qian Renxue and Qian Daoliu paused mid-step, turning toward the epicenter of the disturbance.

From the cold, frost-kissed side of the well, a deep, poisonous aura unfurled like a coiling serpent. Poison Douluo Dugu Bo opened his eyes, which now gleamed with renewed vitality and cold sharpness. The spiritual herb's essence had fully merged into his bones—its icy energy now harmonized with his poisonous nature.

His spirit pressure climbed swiftly, cracking the air around him. A moment later, a dazzling light erupted behind him—his martial soul, the Jade Phosphor Serpent Emperor, roaring into the sky.

"Spirit Power… 93," Qian Daoliu muttered with a hint of surprise. "He leapt two full levels…"

Simultaneously, on the fiery side of the spring, another surge rose like a blossoming flame. Chrysanthemum Douluo's aura shimmered with brilliant golden petals dancing in the air. The Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum in his body resonated deeply, amplifying his spirit power beyond his expectations.

"Peak of Level 94…" Qian Daoliu muttered again.

Both Douluos stood, faces calm but spirits burning brightly.

Poison Douluo bowed deeply. "Your Highness. I owe you not only my life, but my future. From this day forward, I will follow you without hesitation."

Chrysanthemum Douluo smiled gracefully and gave a flourish with his robe. "To find an herb that resonates with my very soul, to gain such progress in mere moments… You've given me a miracle, Your Highness. Count on me for whatever comes next."

Qian Renxue gave him a small nod, her gaze lingering for a moment longer on the glowing petals still drifting around Chrysanthemum Douluo like a protective veil of light. In the depths of her heart, she knew—he would never again be so easily defeated like the original story. No longer would Tang Hao be able to casually smash him to the ground with a single hammer strike.

Chrysanthemum Douluo Yue Guan, tempered and reborn, would carve his own path in the battles to come.

She then turned to Poison Douluo, who had just finished stabilizing his breakthrough. The air around him was heavy with a chill, the poison no longer lashed out uncontrollably. They were restrained and controlled.

His once-greenish hair had turned a pale grey, which was the natural colour of his hair at old age .

"You've mastered your venom," Qian Renxue said. "That color… It's proof you now dominate what once tormented you."

Poison Douluo Dugu Bo smirked slightly. "For decades, I thought I was doomed to suffer with this poison till the day I died. Never thought I'd wear it like armor instead."

"Then use it," she said, and reached into her storage ring, retrieving a pale yellow fruit that pulsed with vibrant, earthy energy—the Land Dragon Golden Melon.

She had picked it up when she was talking with her grand father, thinking to gift it to Poison Douluo earning another wave of loyalty from him.

She extended it to him. "This is for Dugu Yan. Her poison is inherited, and her body lacks the resilience to suppress it long-term. The Land Dragon Golden Melon will not only stabilize her poison, it will strengthen her vitality and improve her martial soul's potential."

Dugu Bo's eyes widened as he carefully accepted the fruit. For a brief moment, his stern expression cracked, overcome with emotion.

"She's all I have left," he said softly. "Thank you… truly."

"Take her here when the time comes," Qian Renxue said, glancing at the spring. "Let her absorb it under the influence of this well's aura. The healing will be more complete. And she may have a chance to go even further than you."

Dugu Bo clutched the melon gently, as though afraid it would vanish in his grasp. He gave a deep, solemn bow. "I, Poison Douluo Dugu Bo, will remember this favor for the rest of my life."
