Floating Island - Triple S Talent

Chapter 443: Vampire vs Goblin

Nita raised her hand slightly, and at that moment, a white-winged horse appeared beside her. The creature landed lightly, its feathers shimmering under the sunlight. Zephyr, as she called it, was a companion she had acquired during her visit to Wildstar Haven, one of the few realms now connected to the Divine Sky, alongside the realm of Guandu.

Over the past five months, Nita's hard work had truly shown. Unlike Lein's leadership style, which balanced individual strength with development, Nita chose to channel all resources and focus entirely on building the kingdom. She ensured that everyone had a role and responsibility in the advancement of this land.

"Zephyr, how are you?" Nita asked gently, stroking the head of her winged horse.

Zephyr responded by lowering its head slightly, offering a familiar gesture. Nita smiled and swiftly leaped onto its back. However, before taking flight, she closed her eyes for a moment and chanted a simple spell. Within seconds, her appearance changed. Her regal gown vanished, replaced by simpler, more casual attire. Her face no longer radiated the aura of royalty but that of an ordinary young woman.

She wanted to experience the city unnoticed.

"Let's go, Zephyr," she whispered softly.

With a single flap of its wings, Zephyr soared into the sky, leaving the palace behind. The wind brushed gently around them, caressing Nita's face and making her long hair flutter. From this height, she could clearly see the descending slopes filled with palace support buildings, towering defense towers, and the long stairway stretching from the base to the peak of the palace.

Zephyr flew gracefully, piercing through thin clouds and gliding low to keep the city's view in sight. Nita gazed down in admiration—the vast road network, the orderly movement of vehicles, and the towering buildings reflected the kingdom's rapid progress.

As they passed Sky Tower, a favored gathering place for hunters, something in the distance caught her attention. A group of people was clustered in one of the districts, and even from this distance, she could sense unusual movement.

"What's going on there?" she murmured curiously.

Without hesitation, she directed Zephyr toward the scene, prepared to investigate the situation.

The winged horse glided through the air with elegance, its white fur gleaming under the sunlight. It didn't take long before they reached the suspicious commotion in the heart of the city.

With a simple movement, Nita vanished from Zephyr's back, reappearing in a narrow alley between neatly lined stone buildings. She stepped out calmly, blending in with the people moving along the main street.

If Lein were here, he might have been surprised. This city was no longer inhabited by humans alone. Various cosmic races had started settling in the Divine Sky Realm. Elves walked gracefully among the crowds, towering ogres stood near the market, while vampires conversed leisurely in the shadows of tall buildings.

Three months after Lein's departure, Hanes had fulfilled his promise. He brought slaves from various races, including vampires, elves, and ogres. Nita decided to grant them a place to live on separate islands, far from the mainland. Those islands had now grown into new cities, allowing them to access resources from the main city.

The development of the Divine Sky Realm advanced rapidly. Hanes, a king-level ruler who had lived for centuries, played a major role in this progress. He and his wife even stayed for a month to help Nita manage various affairs before eventually leaving.

Nita quickened her pace, approaching the center of the crowd.

"I'll give you five minutes to hand over the item!"

A loud voice echoed between the buildings, drawing everyone's attention. A middle-aged man stood tall in the center of the gathering. His silver hair reflected the light, while his deep red eyes bore into a young goblin suspended in the air. The man's pale bluish skin and long black robe indicated his noble status.

The young goblin, frail and dressed in tattered clothing, writhed in fear. His hands clutched at his chest as if searching for something, but his efforts were futile. His green face was filled with despair, his lips trembling wordlessly.

Suddenly, from within the crowd, another goblin stepped forward. Unlike the trembling youth, this goblin carried an air of confidence. Standing around 160 cm tall, he wore sturdy armor made from monster hide, with a massive axe strapped to his back.

"Lord Noble," his deep, authoritative voice rang out, "What exactly are you doing to our kind?"

His tone was firm, showing no fear in the face of a man far more powerful than himself. The crowd shifted, creating space between the two as they faced each other.

Nita narrowed her eyes, observing the situation intently. There was more to this than a mere dispute.

The elder vampire turned his gaze toward the goblin captain with a look of disdain. "What's wrong with your brain? Shouldn't you ask before jumping to conclusions?" His voice dripped with mockery. "Filthy goblin trash…"

The goblin captain's face darkened, his expression turning grim. What had started as a matter concerning a single scavenger goblin had now escalated into an insult to his entire race. His jaw tightened before a cold smile appeared on his lips. "Hah… you vampires are all the same," he said sharply. "Acting as if you're nobility, but what? You don't even hold power in the Mainland!"

The vampire noble's brow twitched. He couldn't refute the words, but neither could he ignore them. His crimson eyes narrowed, radiating danger. "So… what exactly are you implying, Captain?" he asked with a smirk, revealing his lengthening fangs. Your journey continues at My Virtual Library Empire

Beside the vampire noble, a small girl clung to his arm, her voice trembling with worry. "Father…" she murmured hesitantly.

The noble turned to her, then gently pushed her toward his subordinates. "Lilia, stay behind."

The little girl reluctantly released her grip, but one of her father's subordinates quickly pulled her back, distancing her from the escalating confrontation.

"Heh… fine, if that's how you want it." The goblin captain reached behind him and drew out his massive axe.

The aura between both parties intensified, creating a pressure that made the very air feel heavy. The crowd, once tightly packed, now slowly retreated, making space for the two figures who seemed ready to fight at any moment.

"Heh, hey! Have you two forgotten where you are?"

Suddenly, the voice of an old woman rang out from the edge of the street. A stout auntie, wearing a wide apron, stood in front of her shop, pointing toward the towering mountain in the distance. At its peak stood a grand palace—the palace of the Earth Kingdom.

"Don't forget you're still in the Royal City of the Earth Kingdom!" she called out loudly before returning to arranging the jewelry in her store's display, as if the brewing confrontation between the vampire and the goblin was not something worth disrupting her work.
