Chapter 9: 9. Second Entry
Putting my shirt back on, I walked out of the restroom before stopping and turning back.
"You coming? Or what?"
Henry moved and walked behind me, not looking at me, as if on autopilot. He really followed me, and when I walked back into the room, the guys collectively widened their eyes at my companion.
Danny was in the midst of saying something, but Omar held his mouth shut.
"So...where are the towels?" I asked, and Jordan pointed at a sofa behind.
"They got us knew shirts as well." Danny shoved Omar away, his eyes still on Henry, who stood there like a wet puppy.
I threw a towel at Henry and looked at Jordan.
"You are paying for today, these extra services are on you, hear me?"
"They have already charged your tap." This time, Jordan held Danny's mouth shut.
"I can't believe it, no wonder you all will turn against me! What? Am I not paying for you in the future, so you just go believe bullshit?" I went to get the new shirt and changed there directly. With the new shirt covering me, I saw Henry staring.
"What? You want me to pay for you too? Is there a stalker that lives off his target?" Seeing him not react, I let it go.
"You, go downstairs and pay for my stalker. Then the bill might remain on me." It is me who should get money for the beating and choking.
Jordan made a roger sign and gave Omar a look before going.
Danny fiddled with the cigarette behind his ear,
"He didn't do it!" He burst out in Henry's direction.
"Shut it. He needs to find out himself." I said and plopped on the couch before finding it wet.
"Damn it, do I need to pay for the cleaning too?"
"You always get stingy when drunk." Danny giggled and I threw my towel at him.
"What are you doing? Go change your wet shirt." The moment his hands were in the midst of covering his chest, I gave him a look, and he immediately jumped up to walk to the couch in the corner.
Henry stood still with the towel on him, and looked like a bird whose cage was covered so that it would think it was night.
"Henry Devin." I said, and the towel holder moved a bit.
"Do you need my help drying you?" I asked with a smirk and heard him scoff.
"I will prove it." He said firmly and threw the towel at me. He was back again and in full hatred. It looked better than the lifeless doll he posed as just now.
Taking a drag and breathing it out slowly I nodded.
"Try to prove my guilt, meanwhile uncovering my innocence."
Henry laughed, but it sounded more like crying, before he turned and stepped out.
It was dead silent before Omar slowly nodded.
"I see why you don't want to beat him up."
"Right? He is already broken." I could feel it myself yesterday when he choked me. This agony, I had never experienced before and never want to experience again.
"Be careful, the most dangerous people are those who have nothing to lose." Danny came over in his dry shirt, unusually earnest.
"What do I have to lose? With such traitor friends, no family, and a fucked up flat, I am more dangerous than him. Don't worry." I gave Danny a death glare and soon Jordan came back.
"This fucker!" He also spotted a swollen eye that would soon turn black like mine.
"You met him on your way up?" I asked, chuckling.
"I even paid for his drinks!!" Jordan said indignantly.
"Yeah, it's really painful to get yourself stabbed in the back." I agreed with him wholeheartedly.
Jordan shut up before changing the topic.
"You think I can come with sunglasses to school as well?"
"I want too?" Danny screeched.
"A black eye?" I asked him with a grin.
"No, let's go together like these beetle brothers or something." Danny was all fire.
"Weren't they gay?" I asked.
"No, the firemen and police officers and something, that were the gay ones." Danny answered.
"Did you fight back?" I ignored Danny and turned to Jordan.
"No, just shoved him away. Lucky I didn't have my glasses on." He sat down only to change places when he saw that it was wet as well.
"Good, everyone just follow his example." I nodded and felt tired.
"Damn, someone go book the room until tomorrow, I am too lazy to go home." Leaning back, I felt myself dozing off.
"You are paying." Someone said, and I kicked in the direction of the voice, before drifting off.
***********
I woke up with such a bad headache that I thought I was going to die right there and then. Even lightly moving my head, hurt like hell, so I just glimpsed through my eyelids to assess the situation. We have three men out and one barely alive. They were all sprawled over the couch or the floor.
Getting my phone, I looked at the time, it was still early, I slept for maybe two hours. I wanted to call someone to get us school uniforms and toothbrushes when the website from yesterday opened.
Ah, had it updated already?
The whole website was dark grey, and the letters had a red hue to it, it was very impressively made, Henry had a good eye for design.
The last entry was posted before I even met Henry in the toilet, one minute after midnight. How nice, to give the students a possibility to read it on their way to school, or before going to sleep.
The second entry was different from what I remember.
The second time, Henrietta came to me while I was again out during history classes. She came to me and asked me to look into her past.
This time, I heard a girlish or childish whimper besides the screams, which I told her about. Thereafter, she stood up and walked away without a word.
In the diary entry, however, it described a lengthy conversation she had with me, making it seem it was the beginning of a friendship, or more.
Which was absolutely, in no way, true.
