29Chapter 14: 12

Chapter 12

wasn't sure what he expected when he infiltrated the last place on his list, a warehouse in the Docks. He was expecting drugs, stolen goods, maybe even a weapons cache, but he really didn't expect… an illegal fighting ring.

He wasn't worried about being detected either, with his augments he clung to the ceiling and watched the proceedings curiously. Technically, he had the best seat in the house, and it allowed him a chance to see if there were any parahumans present.

Cape culture being what it is, immediately spotted the sole parahuman present, apparently serving as a ref and when needed security if those clearly well taken care of pistols were any indication. He couldn't tell what type they were, but given their ties to that group in Germany, the pistols were more than likely some European model.

They certainly looked more impressive than the blinged out Hi-Points he looted a while back, in fact… he decided he would keep them!

But if he wasn't mistaken, he was looking at Alabaster, checking PHO really quick to refresh his memory he found that his powers involved resetting himself? How curious… Most likely he regenerates from the brain, but would the shock of having his internal organs quickly harvested in a single go overload his power and result in his permanent death?

Something to experiment with, however the possibilities were too tempting to ignore!

"Hmm, every few seconds his body refreshes and any injuries or exhaustion disappears. Huh, that's a rather impressive power." He acknowledged as he looked at the parahuman thoughtfully, "Hmm, I would need to gauge the refresh rate… but having a source of fresh organs and tissues on hand would save me a lot of work, depending on the refresh rate… according to PHO it's speculated that he refreshes every… five seconds. Mmm, that's a tight window of operation, though…"

He could do it, but not with a gentle touch. He'd have to carve him open and quickly pull out what he needed. This would probably be the one time he'd use his telekinesis regularly, ripping open the chest cavity and abdomen and scooping everything out before he refreshed. Granted, he'd have to repair the damaged organs from the crude removal, but it wasn't that big of a time sink.

If anything, ensuring the organs wouldn't be rejected by his modified immune system and reconnecting everything would be the more time-consuming process.

Taking another look at the crowd and seeing that other than Alabaster there were no other parahumans he forced his third 'lung' to build up with more sedative. The room was rather big, but thankfully everyone seemed gathered around the fighting ring cheering on their favorites, roaring in excitement with every blow or every drop of blood spat to the side.

Modern day blood sports, well modern-ish really. Boxing and MMA were modern blood sports, bare knuckle brawls harken back to the days before boxing was widely spread as a 'gentlemanly sport'.

Actually, bare knuckle fighting became a lot safer with the inclusion of parahuman healing, many of the fighters would go to the hospital and get healing from Panacea with no questions asked. Or the resident E88 healer, it was also possible that Victor paid well to absorb other fighting skills! Which honestly made him an even more valuable prize!

Honestly just from looking, could see so many signs of head trauma, concussions, and brain damage. Never mind the poorly set bones and goodness knows what else, honestly, he had half a mind to fix the whole lot up before he called the police and PRT! Actually, maybe not the PRT. He was curious to the extent of the parahuman's powers, hopefully they were agreeable to organ harvesting.

Were they all going to flood the hospital? Or were they all going to get healing from Othala?

A twinge in his chest pulled him from his musings, his 'lung' at full to bursting. Instead of releasing the sedatives where he was, he moved, crawling along the ceiling until he was directly over the fighting circle. He then opened his mouth and let the near-invisible gas flow out, thankfully the gas was heavier than the air, so it immediately made its way down.

After emptying his 'lung' he quickly made his way down, the jig would be up when everyone started dropping. So, reaching into a satchel, he pulled out a magitech jammer and set it off, ensuring they wouldn't be interrupted by back up or other parahumans.

Then he just sat and waited, and a few minutes later everyone started to drop, including Alabaster, at least until his body refreshed. The albino-looking man immediately pulled one of his guns, his phone in the other no doubt to call in back up but if his frustrated cursing was any indicator the jammer was working as intended.

The parahuman put his phone away and pulled out his second gun.

"Come out, whoever you are!" He shouted into the abandoned warehouse, "Don't you know who you're fucking with!? The E88 will fuck your life up when we catch you!"

nodded at that, they probably would if they found out. Funny thing but he had a whole batch of amnesiacs to use, ensuring that they wouldn't in fact remember how they wound up in jail or why they were in better health. The first thing he needed to do was remove the guns from play.

He was confident in all his biological defenses against being shot or stabbed, but that didn't mean he wanted to be shot or stabbed plus he wasn't entirely certain of the caliber of the guns in question. His biological defenses made him essentially immune to small arms fire, but he hadn't tested against higher calibers, it would just be his luck that Alabaster had the European version of a fifty caliber Desert Eagle or something.

He could just shut the cape down with telekinesis, pin him down on the ground and then find a door for his emblem to work on so he could throw the parahuman in a stasis cell and get to work on everyone else. However, that would attract a lot of unwanted attention, even with his usage of amnesiacs, cause Thinkers are a pain in the ass like that.

Alternatively, he could use his SEP field and just web him down, provided that when he resets the webbing isn't affected as well. Actually, he could knock the guns out of his hands by pulling a Spider-Man, and from what PHO had on the cape other than his power the man was essentially a regular human. Apparently, his power made even building muscle an exercise in futility so didn't have to worry about him being stronger.

There's a possibility that he has some form of CQC training, and depending on how strongly he believes in E88's rhetoric, felt safe in assuming that he didn't have any martial arts training… well, depending on where it was developed initially.

Eventually he decided to go fuck it and turned his SEP field all the way up before walking over, taking the guns, and putting him in an arm bar. His enhanced strength ensured the parahuman couldn't really escape, and he used remote viewing and telekinesis to find a door to use before picking the struggling human up and making his way to his pocket dimension to lock the man away.

Of course, that… hmm, though it was possible that he's more trouble than he's worth. Stasis cells didn't mean they were foolproof… maybe he should just web him up really good while he loots the place?

Maybe he'll luck out and one of the fighters here suffered a lethal brain aneurysm? It'd certainly save him some trouble remaking all the organs and tissues.

Though he swore that one day he would experiment on Alabaster, the thought of having a constant source of fresh organs and tissues were too enticing to be completely abandoned!

A course of action decided, he started to use his free arms to thoroughly cocoon the parahuman until he looked like he was trapped in an extremely thick and sticky sleeping bag with nothing, but his head exposed, which spewed out a slew of violence, hate, and promises of vengeance.

Jokes on the Nazi though, tweaked his SEP field so that while the idiot knew what happened, he wouldn't remember any details about him!

Entire warehouse was looted, not that there was much beyond money and Alabaster's guns (two CZ-95s chambered in .45 ACP, he checked online), he opted to call the PRT while sitting on a crate humming to himself.

After a quick exchange was again left to his own devices, so he opted to examine the CZ-95 with Feel It Out to get a better handle of the weapon while simultaneously researching the gun in question using his phone. See as it wasn't anything exotic like tinker tech his perk easily mapped the gun out, and whistled faintly in surprise. Outside of a few personalization's everything about the gun had been modified and customized.

"This is a really nice gun." He commented to Alabaster, "Customized and extensively modified. For brutes or other tough parahumans I imagine."

Alabaster just grunted, but didn't pay it any mind as he continued to examine the gun, eventually ejecting the magazine and pushed one of the bullets out before looking at it closely, Feel It Out telling him exactly what it was.

"RIP ammo… well if you want someone dead then this will do the job." thought as he looked at the bullet curiously, as the perk fed him more information regarding the creation of said round and other useful nuggets of information.

Honestly until he actually looked it up, initially thought it was some sort of highly illegal ammunition type. Researching via his phone actually ended that train of thought, it wasn't illegal but rather pricey at sixty dollars per twenty rounds. Honestly the thought of just senseless shooting with expensive ammo honestly disturbed him, and the irony wasn't lost on him given how free he was with money he stole from the Merchants.

However, as he continued learning more about the round, the more confident he grew in his ability to recreate it and eventually improve on it. Though admittedly improving on it was more of a passing thought really, the possibility was there.

was pulled from his musings by a whoosh, looking up he saw a man in a tight red suit… Velocity if he wasn't mistaken. The speedster of the BB Protectorate, just from skimming over his wiki and looking up on PHO wondered why he was never issued something like a taser or containment foam grenades? That seemed to him like the easiest way to increase his effectiveness, but assumed they had their reasons.

It was entirely possible that the reasons are stupid, but they might not be stupid to whoever decided on it.

"Velocity, right?" The Hero nodded before zooming off and gathering everyone up into a single group before stopping in front of him, "They're bound in webbing if you're wondering. It should dissolve in another hour or two, or you could use some sort of solution."

Actually, he made a mental note to test his webbing when he got the chance.

"Thanks." Velocity said, "And… sorry about the whole mix up when you registered. Wires got crossed, you shouldn't have been interviewed in an interrogation room." The cape explained clearly apologetically.

Though how much of it was genuinely apologetic, and how much of it was wanting the only other unaffiliated healing cape to be on good terms? would only speculate really, but from skimming on the surface of Velocity's mind he genuinely seemed offended over what he went through.

"No harm done." said easily as he dropped the light telepathic probe, "It's bound to happen in organizations as big as the PRT after all."

Velocity just nodded in agreement, "Still shouldn't have happened in the first place." He said before looking at him curiously… not specifically at his extra arms, "Sooo… medical thinker huh?" would've had to be deaf and dumb to miss the doubt in the cape's voice.

"You'd be surprised what's medically possible with superhuman intuition and steady hands." said, not confirming anything but leaving it open ended.

"Fair." Velocity said though could tell (even without psychic powers) he really doubted that he was just a 'medical thinker', "I actually did some research when you knocked that guy's heart back into rhythm. It's possible but the necessary timing and precision required makes it impossible for regular medics."

nodded with a chuckle, "I could've opened the guy up and manually reset his heart, but I didn't think traumatizing the crowd would've been a good debut." He quipped, getting a snort from the speedster.

"It really wouldn't have." Velocity said before changing the subject, "So you got everyone? Even Alabaster… he's not an easy one to take down."

"Other than his odd refreshing power? He's still a normal human being." said, "Though I would love to do some tests on him to see if my initial assessment is correct. Though his power would be difficult to deal with, I'm sure I could figure out a way to handle it with time." He added absentmindedly.

Inwardly wondered if the recent knowledge about the 'Biotinker' situation had made him rather cavalier? Though he couldn't help but wonder what the AAR will look like after this report.

200 CP gained!

500 CP available!

Banked!

"Hmm, to roll or not to roll… that is the question…" He mused as he answered some more questions, honestly it felt like a police report in all honesty.

Eventually the questioning was over and was free to go, and after some consideration he decided to visit this one location Lisa had sent him about thirty minutes ago. An abandoned hospital that used to be where the Teeth based when they were in the Bay.

"Hopefully it won't be occupied." Though he knew it was a fool's hope to wish such, still it didn't hurt to be optimistic.
