[FATE] OP Demon King Across Multiverse!

Chapter 24: Chapter 23: The Power of Vengeance

The trio formed a tight formation, with Ryuu leading the charge straight at Hercules.

This would be the perfect test for his new weapon. With a flick of his wrist, Rebellion flew from his grasp, spinning midair like a sentient beast before piercing into Hercules' chest.

Crimson blood splattered.

Even with his absurd endurance, Hercules staggered from the impact.

"Looks like that damn mushroom wizard really did weaken you," Ryuu muttered, his golden eyes gleaming.

"Well, in that case, I won't be holding back."

"That was incredible!" Mash exclaimed. "Mr. Ryuu, your weapons are so—"

"Hmph. You haven't even seen what it can really do," Ryuu interrupted, gripping the hilt of her shield. "Mash—launch me!"

Mash barely had time to react before he jumped onto her shield.

"U-Understood! Shield Bash—!!"

She swung with all her might. The impact sent Ryuu soaring into the sky, putting him level with the towering Berserker.

As he snatched Rebellion from Hercules' chest, Ryuu twisted midair and brought the blade down in a vicious arc, carving a deep gash across the giant's body.

A guttural roar of pain erupted from Hercules.

Furious, he clasped both hands together, ready to crush the nuisance in front of him.

But before he could—

A powerful gust of wind slammed into him.

"HOOOAAARRRGH!!"

The force pushed Ryuu out of range, while Cú Chulainn smirked from below.

"Still got that killer instinct, don't ya, big guy?" the Irish warrior taunted.

Hercules' rage snapped toward Cú Chulainn.

The second he recognized him, he forgot about Ryuu entirely—and charged after his old rival instead.

Mash, catching Ryuu as he landed, could barely believe what she was seeing.

"H-He's ignoring us completely!"

"Damn it!" Cú Chulainn groaned. "Why is it always me?!"

Ryuu burst out laughing. "Guess he really likes you, Caster."

"Shut it and get your ass over here—!!"

Cú Chulainn threw fireballs behind him as he ran, but they barely slowed Hercules down.

"Ugh, right, forgot about that—he's immune to Rune magic now!"

Ryuu tightened his grip on Rebellion. "Then let's see if this does the trick."

Charging forward, he slashed across Hercules' chest again—but this time, the blow sent a shockwave rippling through the Berserker's body.

Hercules howled in agony.

This sword… it's different from before…!

Hercules instinctively retaliated, swinging his axe down in a brutal arc—

BOOM!

The shockwave alone sent cracks through the ground.

If that had landed—Ryuu wouldn't be walking away from it.

"Mr. Ryuu! Are you okay?!" Mash shouted.

"Hah… barely," he exhaled. "Unless he uses his Noble Phantasm, I won't die in one hit. But if he does… well, let's not test that theory."

Mash bit her lip. "But… my Noble Phantasm was already used once. And mine's purely defensive—it can't deal any damage."

Ryuu smirked.

"That's fine. I still have this."

He raised Rebellion high, pouring every ounce of magic power from the Demon King's Seed into the blade.

The sword began to tremble—

And then—

It transformed.

The skeletal guard split apart, its mouth opening wide, revealing the jagged fangs of a beast.

The hilt extended, taking on a crown-like structure, glowing with a dark crimson aura.

The awakened form of Rebellion.

A power unlike anything Ryuu had ever felt surged through him.

For the first time in a long while—

He felt… whole.

"Holy shit…" Cú Chulainn whistled. "Now that's a proper blade."

Ryuu grinned savagely. His previous cautious fighting style vanished.

A golden glint flashed in his eyes.

"Alright, big guy. Let's finish this."

Hercules barely had time to react before Ryuu rushed in, swinging with reckless abandon.

Each slash left deep, burning wounds across the immortal warrior's body.

Even his God Hand—which should have neutralized the attacks—was too slow to regenerate in time.

For the first time, Hercules screamed.

Ryuu gathered all his energy into the blade, his voice ringing through the battlefield:

"REBELLION—DEVOUR EVERYTHING!"

He swung—

A devastating shockwave erupted from the blade, tearing through Hercules' already-weakened body.

The Berserker staggered back—

His glowing eyes dimmed—

His massive body collapsed onto the rubble below.

And then—

For the first time… he did not stand back up.

The once-immortal Hercules had finally fallen.

---

Mash let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding.

"Mr. Ryuu… we did it…! We actually beat Berserker!"

"Hey, you alive over there?" Cú Chulainn called out.

Ryuu let out a tired laugh. "Barely."

His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air.

Silently, he slipped Phoenix's Tears back into his inventory.

He had almost needed them.

Mash and Olga Marie rushed over, concern on their faces.

"Your energy is completely depleted," Olga muttered, placing her hands against his back.

Her warm magical energy flowed into him, helping restore his strength.

"Really, what kind of technique drains you dry like this?" she scolded.

"Well, I had to kill Hercules. I'd say that's a fair trade," Ryuu smirked.

"You idiot," Olga huffed. "You're a Master—why the hell are you doing the Servant's job?!"

Ryuu just grinned at her irritation.

Cú Chulainn crossed his arms. "Gotta admit, though—you really do pull off some crazy shit."

And it wasn't without reward.

The system message flashed before Ryuu's eyes:

Ding!

Congratulations! You have slain Servant Berserker—Hercules.

You have received 2,000 Demon King Points.

Ryuu smirked. Twice as much as a normal Servant. Not bad.

He turned to Olga. "See? Nothing to worry about."

"You're impossible," she muttered.

Mash helped Ryuu stand, while Cú Chulainn sealed Rebellion into Ryuu's inventory.

The battlefield had been reduced to rubble. This school was no longer a viable stronghold.

As they walked, Mash suddenly hesitated.

"Mr. Ryuu…" she murmured.

"You said Berserker had two lives left.

So why… did he disappear after just one final hit?"

Ryuu frowned.

"I can't say for sure. Maybe another Servant weakened him before us."

Mash's fists clenched.

"If Saber could take seven lives from him so easily…

Then how are we supposed to win against her?"

Everyone fell silent.

After all—

Their final opponent was Artoria Pendragon.

And she… had the Holy Grail.
