"Gold!" Alex screams, displaying a greedy expression before realizing the truth of the matter. "Gold… is not really useful, is it?!"

"I think you should be able to take it with you, but yeah… it's just money. We have enough of that, since Rishi is rich. This is a flop, but these weapons look fairly okay," Menchi says.

"It depends on whether the system recognizes them!" Alex says, walking toward a spear.

[Spear]

World: Naruto

Quality: White

Type: Spear

Required Stats: STR - 4, PHY - 4, AGI - 4

Durability: 30/30

Damage: 7-15

Note: A simple spear without any noticeable qualities.

"YES! It is merely white-quality, but… I see a lot of them!"

Alex greedily bags 34 [Spears], 26 [Swords], and 40 [Clubs], all of white quality.

"Not bad! Hey, if I shard them, those 100 weapons turn into 100 shards. This was so worth it! This is a jackpot. This sheer amount is almost as good as a Light-Gold item in terms of shards. This was worth it!"

"The gold turns out to be quite special, too!" Menchi notes, throwing a gold bar towards Alex, which he swiftly catches, feeling its weight.

[Gold Bar]

World: Naruto

Quality: White

Type: Metal

Effect: Ordinary crafting material without any special effects.

Effect: Player can choose to exchange this bar for 3,000 FC upon leaving this world.

Note: An impure, sloppily crafted gold bar, containing many impurities. Purity: 87%

Note: Gold is one of the most common and worthless resources valued by the Realm. Despite that, the Realm is willing to buy it at a reasonable price.

"This… 3,000 FC. How many are there?" Alex stuffs all the gold bars into his inventory and counts exactly to 20.

"This… 60,000 FC. This is indeed the jackpot, but should we sell those bars? You know, this is recognized by the system. Unlike normal gold bars which we can't take with us, those can be freely used. If we enter other worlds, these bars might be a valid way to pay for things," Alex notes.

"Your choice," Menchi responds, seemingly unable to answer Alex's question.

Alex thinks for a moment and then realizes something important. "You know what, Menchi? You will be mostly staying inside major cities when we are traveling to other worlds, right? Keep them all for yourself. That way, you always have some currency you can use to exchange for different ingredients and food. Gold is accepted almost everywhere!"

"Really? That's 60,000 FC…" she responds.

"Fuck 60,000 FC. Just keep them!" Alex says, grabbing all 20 [Gold Bars] and offering them to Menchi who puts them into her inventory.

"Is there anything else?? I see drugs, but the system doesn't recognize them! These pieces of shoddy armor, however, could be useful," Alex says, inspecting them.

"They are gray quality… shit. Well, take them as well, Menchi, you can sell them, same as the gold bars," Alex says.

"I am not a merchant, but I see your point. As long as there's nobody else around, I'll deal with this stuff," she says, looking a bit unhappy.

Alex decides to look. "Supplies… worthless. Drugs… not interested. Let's burn it all down… wait… don't you think this hideout is a little bit too normal?"

"What do you mean? Weapons, armor, drugs, supplies, gold. I think this is a decent haul," Menchi replies.

Alex looks serious for a moment and explains his thoughts, "One of the richest men in the world? I get that his businesses are real and he has no need for secrecy. This fits if he just wants to supply his little private army with weapons and then maybe use the gold as a lifeline for emergencies. However, he is known to be able to bribe almost anyone. Would people really go crazy for gold bars? My hunch tells me this isn't all. You know what, I think I'll use it!"

"What do you mean?!" Menchi asks, clearly confused.

Princess Jewel understands!

Not in the mood for explanations, Alex takes out his trusty [Destiny Watch] and activates its effect.

Promptly, a rainbow-colored butterfly appears, circling around Alex before just floating into a wall, disappearing instantly.

"The fuck!? Looks like I was wrong!" Alex curses loudly.

"This was a dud, huh? Can't always be right, Alex. Let's move on!" Menchi says, massaging Alex's neck, trying to cheer him up.

Princess Jewel does not believe that her beloved Soulmate's logic was wrong. The Item makes it clear that Soulmate can expect a good hint. If there were nothing around here, the Butterfly should lead us back. Please study the item description.

"Hmm let's see," Alex says as he looks at his trusty watch, only looking at its last effect.

Effect: Once per mission, you can activate this item to give you a random hint. Following the hint always leads to a good outcome!

Note: All-knowing, mysterious, and magical, this watch holds powers that provide accurate information regardless of location. However, if the wearer's LUK is low, it won't work at all and even decreases the wearer's LUK.

Jewel then jumps onto the floor and climbs up the wall where the butterfly disappeared.

She carefully inspects the wall before she activates Ren, violently thrusting her legs into the wall, quickly beginning to tear it down.

After 30 seconds, a metal safe worked into the wall becomes visible.

"Good job, Jewel! Maybe there was a way to remove this wall temporarily, but I don't care, we just want his valuables," Alex cheers, rushing towards the safe.

"Not bad," Menchi comments looking at Jewel with respect.

"Damn… it's locked. Of course it is!" Alex points out before using the key on it, but quickly noticing that it doesn't fit into the lock.

"I guess… there is but one thing to do."

Alex draws his [Executioner's Blade] and uses Ko against it, striking the safe.

CLANK

Alex feels his hands vibrating, his sword nearly slipping out of them. However, as soon as he notes that he managed to create a decently sized tear on the safe, he smiles.

"Again, I guess!" he yells and continues to strike the safe again and again.

Sweat pours down his face, but after a few minutes, the safe is finally destroyed.

"This material is unknown to me. You should be able to cleave a normal safe into two halves easily. This is looking promising," Menchi comments.

Finally, Alex grabs the loose safe door and bends it, allowing him to have full access.

Inside, Alex sees just five tiny bars.

"Are you fucking serious?" he curses, before grabbing one—causing his hand to shake.

[Chakra Metal]

World: Naruto

Quality: Light Gold

Type: Metal

Effect: High-quality crafting material, at the very top of the world. This metal has a unique effect of absorbing the chakra of its user granting it additional properties depending on the Chakra user's affinity.

Note: One of the biggest treasures of the world of Naruto. This bar is not very large, but it is extremely pure.

"Oh my!" Menchi comments. "This is a windfall… I guess I really have to apologize, Alex. You as well, Jewel. Our attitude nearly cost us to miss out on this."

"So this is the resource he uses to bribe even the nobles of the Five Great Villages," Alex concludes. "Well, don't mind if I take them!" he says and grabs them all. "You did good, Jewel. In fact, all six of the bars are only in my possession thanks to you. Anyway, let's get out. If possible, I want to find some more enemies—you see, it appears my blade has lost some durability."

Alex inspects his [Executioner's Blade] and sees that it has lost 6 durability, and with it, a hefty chunk of bonus damage.

This blade seems to be fairly easy to destroy, and you need to constantly use it, to keep the Durability up. This is indeed a blade suitable for an Executioner. If you don't kill, this blade is not for you!

"Let's go!" Alex says, storming out of the underground storage.

As he reenters the lobby, he sees a large number of armed thugs looking around and questioning the workers.

Alex listens to the thugs.

"Where are they?! They'll suffer for killing our boss!"

"Our money source is dried up. Maybe there is a reward on their heads, or maybe they have stolen some of Gatō's belongings?"

"I don't care, let's leave! I am too tired for this, and it's not worth the hassle."

"I guess I need a new job, huh? What a pain!"

Alex begins to laugh. "Thank you for your visit. I am in need of a little donation… I am specifically talking about your… blood!"

As soon as he finishes his sentence, he draws his blade and swings it at the crowd, killing three thugs in a single stroke.

You have dealt 126 damage to Thug.

You have dealt 136 x 3 = 408 damage to Thug.

You have killed Thug.

One of them literally explodes into a bloody mess, all his organs flying through the air, clashing against a nearby wall, while the other two thugs simply get cleaved in two.

Even without Ko? What is this?!

Some of the thugs collapse in fear and shock, shaking all over, while most of the others try to run away.

Alex doesn't let them escape and chases them together with Menchi and Jewel, killing them all.

Picking up another white chest, the group then leaves.

"Heh, durability is back at max. This is convenient!" Alex cheers.

"So what do we do next? To be honest, your fighting style is getting scary… you are just like a butcher. You might want to calm down a little," Menchi says. "You really want to finish this right now?"

"Yes. The longer we wait, the more they recover. Also, news will spread fast. It's now or never," Alex explains.

The group quickly leaves the premises of the chaotic Gatō Company, fleeing back into the small, adjacent town, which they haven't visited before.

Alex notices that the town is looking more like a slum. Children begging, criminals everywhere.

Everyone is avoiding them, staring at Alex's bloody sword in horror.

"Want to donate a little bit?" Menchi asks him, with curious eyes.

"No… that would not help! In fact, that money will make whoever we give it to a target. No, this type of help is unrealistic and cheap. We need to give it to someone who actually knows what he is doing. Let's dump it all on Tazuna. That guy has proven he is the kind of idiot who could really change things and does not care about his own profit," Alex explains.

Leaving the city, they head towards the smaller island Gatō described.

It takes them 30 minutes to pass the small land-strip connecting the islands.

"There is the small village he talked about, I can see it in the distance. Seems to be an ordinary fishing village," Alex says, pointing at a small settlement.

"So we'll enter the forest directly then. Careful—we can expect traps. Alex, can you and Jewel take turns with En?" Menchi suggests.

"Good idea!" Alex notes.

She is smart… things are so easy with her around.

Jewel can handle it by herself. Soulmate seems to have used up a little Aura.

"Okay then… but let's hurry up!" Alex agrees.

The group quickly makes their way through the tiny forest, aiming for the center of it.

"No traps… hmm. Arrogant fucks." Alex notes with a grin. "That will cost them!"

Finally, after searching for 20 minutes, they spot a house between the trees, connected with ropes to various trees, looking quite strange—like a floating pinecone. Alex sees numerous paths leading into it.

"Let's do this then…"
