Chapter 2: Chapter 2 — First Contact: A Stranger Walks into Fairy Tail
The morning sun was bright, but not too bright, just kind of warm and soft as it spread over the rooftops of Magnolia. The golden light made long shadows stretch across the cobbled streets. Birds were flying around, chirping. Shops were opening up.Some shopkeepers yawned while unlocking their doors.
Shinra walked casually through the town with his hands in his pockets. He adjusted his black sunglasses a little, even though it wasn't that sunny yet.
A lot of people were glancing at him.
Silver hair, fancy coat, strange energy around him. Even with him trying not to draw attention, he kinda had this vibe. He definitely stood out.
Though he didn't care that people stared. Honestly, he kind of liked it. He wasn't here to sneak around or hide.
He was here for one reason.
To begin.
And up ahead, past a few tall trees and close to the river, was Fairy Tail.
It looked just like he remembered. Except better, because this time, it was real.
A big wooden building with the Fairy Tail symbol up top. Laughter, shouting, and crashing sounds came from inside like it was totally normal. It kind of was. The air around the building felt like magic—loud, happy, chaotic magic. It even smelled like ale and food and maybe a bit of burnt something.
Shinra stopped and took a deep breath. His heart thumped just once, a little harder than usual.
This was it.

**Inside the Guild Hall…**
The front doors creaked loudly as Shinra stepped inside.
And then—silence.
Everyone stopped what they were doing. Literally everyone. A bunch of people stared at him like he'd dropped out of the sky or something. Some were mid-drink. Others mid-fight. Elfman was literally in the air—looked like he had just been punched across the room—and he still managed to glance over mid-flight before crashing into a table.
Shinra stood in the doorway, not bothered at all, and raised one hand lazily in greeting.
"Yo," he said, his voice chill but with a slight smirk behind it. "This the place where everyone throws chairs and eats like maniacs?"
Nobody said anything.
And then—
*CRASH.*
Natsu faceplanted into the floor.
He had been running over too fast and tripped. Hard.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" he yelled, still lying flat on his stomach but pointing up.
Shinra tilted his head like he was thinking about it.
"Visitor. Tourist. Fan. Depends on how you want to look at it."
Everyone just blinked at him. It was one of those weird pauses.
Then someone spoke up—strong voice, calm, but with a serious tone.
"Enough, Natsu. You're scaring him."
Shinra looked up—and there she was.
Erza Scarlet.
Just like the anime. Maybe even better in person. Her red hair looked like fire. Her armor glinted. Her presence? Unshakable. She moved like a queen who could slice through a mountain and not mess up her stride. But her eyes were curious.
Shinra adjusted his posture slightly—not because he was nervous, but out of respect.
"I'm Erza Scarlet," she said, stopping just in front of him. "S-Class Mage. What's your business here?"
Shinra gave her a real smile,"Nice to meet you, Erza. Name's Shinra. I'm here to join the guild."
More gasps. Elfman shouted something about being a "REAL MAN." Natsu was already bouncing to his feet and glaring. Gray was squinting like he was analyzing him. Lucy just looked lost. Cana kept drinking like nothing surprised her anymore.
But Erza stayed calm.
"And what makes you think you belong in Fairy Tail?" she asked. Not mean. Just direct.
Shinra looked around slowly. He could feel it. The energy. The family vibe. The ridiculousness. The loyalty. It was messy—but real.
He nodded once. "Nothing, really. I'm not here to prove anything. I'm just here to find where I belong."
That quiet settled over the hall again. Like something important had just been said.
Then—another voice joined in. Soft. Smooth. Almost teasing.
"I like his vibe," said a girl from behind the bar. "Don't scare the newcomer, Erza. Let him in. We've had worse."
Mirajane Strauss.
She smiled as she wiped a glass, her long white hair catching the light. Her voice was warm. Her eyes sparkled like she already knew something nobody else did.
Shinra turned to her. Their eyes met. And in that instant, something clicked. Like a tiny spark.
He smiled back. Not flirty. Just honest.
Erza looked between them, then gave a nod.
"Alright," she said. "Welcome to Fairy Tail… Shinra."

Later That Day…
He met Master Makarov. The old man had been busy writing yet another apology letter—apparently because Natsu had burned someone's laundry again. After a short talk and a weird but heartfelt approval, Shinra walked out of the office with a fresh black Fairy Tail tattoo on his arm.
Now he sat at the bar, sipping something fruity and non-alcoholic. Cana had groaned dramatically when he ordered it.
Macao was telling some dumb story about haunted pants or cursed socks or something. Shinra laughed anyway. It felt good. Natural.
Mirajane leaned on the bar near him, chuckling whenever someone got thrown across the room.
"Don't mind the chaos," she said, smiling at the sight of Natsu and Gray wrestling again. "You'll get used to it."
"I already love it," Shinra replied without hesitation. "Feels like I'm where I'm supposed to be."
Mira tilted her head, thoughtful. "Where were you from?"
Shinra turned toward her. His sunglasses were back on, hiding his eyes.
"Somewhere far," he said. "But I'm not looking back."
She watched him for a second, like she was about to ask more. But she didn't.
Instead, she offered her hand across the bar.
"To new beginnings," she said, her voice warm and honest.
He took it.
"To Fairy Tail."
