Fairy Tail: Strongest Creature

Chapter 276: What Are You Laughing At

"Not bad," Su Yan said, tapping the scabbard. "Your strength rivals Erza's—but it stops here. If you fail to score, the old man will be furious."

"I'm furious already! What are you waiting for? Don't hesitate!" Makarov's shout echoed through the arena.

"I won't lose—especially not when it means saving Millianna!" Kagura snarled, rushing Su Yan with her blade aimed at his neck.

Su Yan raised a single finger. Kagura's knife clanged harmlessly against it, halted in mid-arc. Her eyes widened in shock.

Announcer: "He stopped it—Su Yan blocked Kagura's unsheathed knife with just one finger!"

The crowd fell silent. Kagura was renowned as one of the tournament's fiercest competitors, yet Su Yan continued to outshine every expectation.

"I'll save Millianna too—for Erza's sake," Su Yan said coolly. He flicked his middle finger, and a shockwave of power burst from the knife's tip, throwing Kagura backward over ten meters.

The scabbard in Su Yan's hand crackled as dense purple lightning coalesced around it. Kagura braced herself.

"Raimei Hakkei!" Su Yan charged, swinging the electrified scabbard like a massive hammer. Kagura met the blow with her knife, but the impact sent her body flying through buildings until she slammed into a huge wall and collapsed.

Announcer: "What a devastating attack! Will this be Kagura's end?!"

Su Yan stepped forward. "Are you all right?"

Kagura struggled to her feet.

Announcer: "She's up again—this match isn't over yet!"

Despite her wounds, Kagura realized the chasm between her power and Su Yan's.

"Alright…" she panted. "I… surrender?"

Before she could finish, a spatial tear opened behind her, exploding outward.

"Ugh!" Kagura screamed as the blast hurled her backward—Su Yan caught her mid-air. The spectators gasped.

In her place stood Minerva of Sabertooth. Her appearance added ten points to her guild's score, lifting them from 63 to 73.

Announcer: "Overtake! Minerva claimed the final blow—ten points! Has Sabertooth secured first place?"

Millianna, injured and trembling, whispered, "P-please…"

Minerva's smile was cold. "You cared so much for that kitten? She's useless—so I'm returning her."

Liana stumbled free and fell, and Sabertooth's total rose to 75.

Covered in blood, Millianna looked up in horror. "What did you…?"

Minerva shrugged. "This match grew dull—your screams suited my amusement."

"Kagura!" Mermaid Heel's members cried, but Su Yan intervened. "Take her away for treatment. I'll handle this."

Kagura, supporting Liana, nodded and retreated.

Su Yan faced Minerva calmly. "I haven't felt true anger in a long time—you've brought it back."

He recalled the Phantom Lord Guild's attack on Fairy Tail and the grasses now growing over their ruined headquarters.

Minerva's lips curved into a cold smile. "To prove we're Fiore's strongest, we must finish you."

From three other directions, the remaining Sabertooth members emerged.

Announcer: "They've appeared—hiding their strength to hunt Fairy Tail's champion now?"

Minerva declared loudly, "Your allies are all trapped. None will come to help. The crown of this tournament belongs to Sabertooth!"

Su Yan's lips twisted into a sardonic smile.

Minerva's eyes flared. "What are you laughing at?!"

In the stands, Makarov sank into his seat, stunned. His guild trailed by twelve points—but the confidence in his heart remained unshaken.

"It's not over," Su Yan murmured, turning to face his opponents once more.
