Fairy Tail: Strongest Creature

Chapter 272: General

"Brother Su Yan, will we become dragons?" Wendy asked worriedly as they made their way back.

Su Yan laughed. "I've thought about that—don't worry, you won't turn into dragons."

"Could it have been Zeref, the Dark Mage, who transformed Acnologia into a dragon, as that spirit said?" Gray guessed.

Lucy added, surprise in her voice, "I never imagined Acnologia was once human. How did you know it was him, Su Yan?"

A few of the others glanced at Su Yan, curiosity and doubt mingling on their faces.

"Well," Su Yan replied, "it came from some ancient records I encountered during my travels."

Natsu frowned. "If Acnologia was human, why did he do it?"

They all fell silent, pondering why a man would slaughter every dragon and why Zeref might have sought to corrupt him.

"I don't know his motives," Su Yan admitted. "Perhaps old grudges, or a hatred for dragons. There are always extremists among humans—it's not beyond belief that Acnologia was one of them."

"Let's rest for now," Su Yan continued. "If you want to understand the truth, the best path is to grow stronger. Once your power reaches a certain level, many mysteries will resolve themselves."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

On July 6th, the final day of the Grand Magic Games…

"Crack Kick!" dozens of magical fireworks lit up the arena as the crowd's cheers swelled. Today would decide the ultimate champion.

Commentator Chapati: "It's here at last! The final day of the Grand Magic Games—laugh or cry, we will witness the winning guild today! I'm Chapati, joined by Mr. Yakima on commentary."

Commentator Yakima: "Glad to be here!"

Chapati: "Look who just showed up in the press box—Mato-kun, the official mascot! Any issues with refereeing today?"

Pumpkin Head (Mato): "Not at all! I'm here to cheer on everyone!"

Chapati: "Next up, entry order. In sixth place, Quatro Cerberus!"

Chapati: "Fifth, Lamia Scale—the Snake Princess's guild!"

[Blue Pegasus enters third, once the strongest, now hungry to reclaim its title!]

Minerva led Sabertooth's champions into the arena.

Chapati: "Hmm, Sabertooth looks…different today. Are they regrouping?"

Pumpkin Head: "So fierce, pumpkin–!!"

Some spectators noticed Pantherlily—Flo's replacement—cheering alone. "One less kitty!" they whispered.

[Mermaid Heel in second place—proof that an all-female guild can outshine any man!]

Finally, Fairy Tail strode in first, their lead unassailable.

Chapati: "Seven years ago, they were hailed as the strongest guild. Could today mark their full revival? Here comes Fairy Tail!"

The crowd erupted. Fairy Tail's reputation had grown by leaps and bounds—no single monster, but a team of monsters.

Erza's fans roared: "Erza!"

Thor and Laxus's supporters clamored: "Laxus, let us see your power!"

Gajeel bristled at being overshadowed by the "Fire Dragon."

"Su Yan—take them down!" the guild chorused, united in spirit.

Commentator Chapati: "Show your magic and the bonds with your friends—today's survival match across the streets of Crocus begins now!"

Rules: Encounter an enemy guild member on the streets, and battle is triggered. If you disable them, your guild scores 2 points. Each guild elects one hidden leader; defeating that leader nets 10 points. Maximum possible: 90 points.

Chapati: "Even Quatro Cerberus, currently last, could still pull off a miracle!"

The day's survival game exploded into action, spells and clashes echoing through the streets.

In the press box, Yakima commented, "Many guilds are moving in small teams—Sabertooth's scattering their fighters."

Down on the battlefield, Laxus turned to Su Yan. "General?" he asked, grinning. "Since when did you become our general?"

Su Yan, surprised, could only smile as the chaos of the final battle unfurled around them.
