Chapter 11: Chapter 11
"Mom, I don't want to eat this flavor of biscuit. Can you change it to another flavor?"
"Mommy, I want that flavor." Lucas stood in the cart for a while, pointing at this and then wanting that.
"Lucas, you're still young. There are many things you can't eat. Be careful, you won't be tall when you grow up." Nina warned her son. "Also, eating too much sugar will cause cavities. Black teeth are embarrassing."
Lucas pulled down his hat, jumped out of the cart, made a face at Nina, and ran quickly to the other stalls.
"Miss, can I ask…" Leonard heard the conversation at the end of the stall and immediately ran over. He originally wanted to ask what a child of this age liked, but he didn't expect to meet Nina.
"Why you?" Before he could finish his sentence, Nina pushed the cart out.
"Mommy. Why are you walking so fast?" He pulled Nina's shirt.
"Because I met a bastard." Nina carried Lucas onto the cart and hurried to the checkout counter on the other side. Leonard didn't want to let her go, so he quickly chased after her.
"Miss, the total is $532." Nina was about to take out her wallet when a stack of red cash was brought before the cashier. "How much is the item in your hand? I'll help you pay."
"Thank you for your kindness. But I think I'll pay for it myself."
"But..." Leonard didn't care about what she said and continued to pay comfortably before pushing the cart out.
"Ah." Nina stomped her feet.
"Are you her son?" Leonard asked Lucas.
"No, she's my sister." Lucas bowed his head, still remembering Adrian's previous instructions that if anyone asked about his relationship with Nina, he would say she was his sister.
Leonard snorted, he didn't doubt it either, first, Nina was young, second, Lucas's answer was too natural.
"Hey, Leonard. Please give me back the cart." Nina finally caught up and quickly blocked Leonard's way.
Leonard glanced at Nina as she carried Lucas out of the cart. From start to finish, Lucas was wearing a baseball cap, otherwise, Leonard would recognize him as the boy in the selection room that day.
"Here's the card, you use it to buy the things you like, the things you just picked are the things I want." Leonard finished speaking, threw the card to Nina, and took out the things in the cart.
"Are you crazy? Why don't you go pick them yourself?" Nina couldn't stand this person's intentional provocation anymore.
"I'm in a good mood today, so I won't argue with you. When you have to go to Roberts Group to give flowers, at most I'll tell the security guard not to stop you." Leonard took the things and headed towards his cart.
"Hey." Nina was so angry that she had never seen such a man before, it was embarrassing.
"Wow, he's handsome." Lucas exclaimed immaturely, "Nina, he's much more handsome than Uncle Adrian, hehe."
"Little devil, what do you know? This person is really…" Nina chased after him and kicked his car fiercely before willing to let it go. Unexpectedly, Leonard rolled down the car window, his face smiling but not smiling as he said: "Hey girl, this car is very precious, you broke it, can you compensate?"
"You…" Nina was so angry that her face turned red. Leonard ignored her started the car and left.
Leonard brought the loot back, and when he returned, Aaron was already asleep. When July saw Leonard return, she hurriedly pulled him over and asked: "Young master, is that child yours?"
"July, have you finished the task I entrusted you with?" Leonard did not answer her.
"Your instructions are complete, the room on the left upstairs is the young master's room. Today, Tom brought the toys here, and everything is arranged." July saw that Leonard didn't want to answer, so she tactfully shut her mouth.
Leonard tiptoed up to the second floor to the bedroom on the left. Outside the door was a cute Pooh bear. Gently pushing the door open, the first thing that caught his eye was a lot of new toys and models. The wallpaper was a wallpaper with the same pattern as the bed sheets and quilts, very elegant, lively, and warm.
Leonard thought that Aaron had fallen asleep when he was about to leave, but suddenly he heard the boy's voice: "Why are you coming back now?" That voice carried a hint of uselessness and a hint of reproach. This was the first time in Leonard's life that someone had asked him these words, so he was a little confused about how to answer, "Aaron, why aren't you asleep yet? I just went out to buy some things." He finished speaking, but he didn't hear Aaron say anything else. Maybe he had fallen asleep. It seemed that taking care of a child was not an easy task.
Nina was angry after Leonard took her things. She went back to the supermarket to buy another one.
"Who is that guy?" Lucas asked curiously.
"It has nothing to do with you." Just thinking about that man made her angry.
Lucas obediently shut his mouth.
Nina's house was not far away. After buying the things, the mother and daughter held hands and walked home. At this time, the street lights were bright. The night wind blew gently, and the city suddenly became splendid. This made Nina feel a strange feeling. It was as if she had lived here for a long time. Perhaps it was because she thought so much that her head started to hurt. Recently, her head hurt more and more, she didn't know how much longer she could endure.
"Mom, Uncle Adrian hasn't called me for a long time." Lucas suddenly mentioned Adrian. Adrian hadn't called her for a long time. She still didn't understand Adrian, in her perception, what exactly was he, she didn't understand. Relative? Nina felt like her life was broken, as if a part of it was missing, but she didn't know which part.
Lucas was a little sleepy, and Nina picked him up. If something happened to her, what would Lucas do? Nina suddenly felt a little uneasy.
---
"General Manager, are you looking for me?" The secretary at the orphanage found out that Aaron had been called into the office by Leonard.
"That day, you made a big mistake."
"I can change to do anything, but please don't fire me." The secretary immediately became agitated when Leonard mentioned that day.
Leonard sneered, "It's not firing you. It's just transferring you to another place. Now, help me take care of Aaron. Mainly take him to school and pick him up after school, and you can't let other kids bully him, do you understand?"
The assistant thought his ears were damaged and the CEO made him a nanny.
"What do you mean, CEO?"
"Don't want to?"
"No no. I agree. As long as it's not about being fired, of course, I agree to do anything." The secretary hurriedly received his boss's order.
Leonard held Aaron's information in his hand.
"General manager, which kindergarten do you choose? Is it ordinary or noble or what?"
"Of course, it's the best, do you still have to ask?" Leonard frowned.
The secretary heard the order and immediately went to contact the kindergarten.
