Chapter 223: Destroy The Cursed (40)

> SYSTEM MESSAGE:

YOU HAVE CONSUMED AN ARTIFACT.

DAWN PEARL has been absorbed.

A new mode has been unlocked: DAWN OVERFLOW.

Mode Explanation: When activated, the host will gain a near-limitless surge of energy for a short period of time.

Warning: Every use of Dawn Overflow comes with a penalty.

Aiden's eyes widened as the notification burned across his vision. His breath hitched, and for a moment, he simply stood frozen, unable to process what had just happened.

To be honest, he had swallowed the Yellow Orb half out of spite—half out of desperation.

He didn't want to repeat the same mistake of hesitation he had made in the past, the kind of mistake that cost allies their lives. But even then, the act had been reckless.

The Yellow Orb wasn't some common artifact. He had seen the Dark Emissary use it in battle—an item capable of bending power to terrifying extremes.

Yet, even that creature hadn't dared to consume it. That fact alone made Aiden hesitate.

So when he forced it down his throat, he was praying—praying—that it wouldn't tear him apart from the inside. He half-expected to collapse instantly, his insides shredded by uncontrollable energy.

But what happened instead was the opposite. Not only was he still alive… the results were astonishing.

The Orb hadn't destroyed him. It had fused with him. And from that reckless gamble, he had gained a mode unlike anything he had ever seen before.

Still, his relief was tempered by caution. The system had been clear: Dawn Overflow comes with a penalty. He didn't know what that meant. He didn't know what price he would eventually pay.

Yet the truth was simple—he had no choice. His natural energy reserves were bone-dry, drained from the brutal fight.

Without a miracle, he was finished. But now… now he had a chance. A terrifying, dangerous chance.

A wicked grin tugged at his lips.

"System… activate Dawn Overflow Mode."

For a heartbeat, the system fell silent. Then—

SYSTEM: Dawn Overflow Mode has been activated.

Your core is overflowing with power.

Aiden's entire body convulsed. He gasped sharply as white-hot pain seared through him. It felt as though his very energy core was being shattered into a thousand pieces, only to be reforged anew.

His knees buckled, a strangled groan tearing from his throat as agony lanced through every nerve.

And then, just as suddenly, it ended.

The pain gave way to something else—something euphoric. A soothing, electrifying warmth surged through his veins, filling him with vitality he had never known.

His exhaustion was gone. His wounds screamed less. His very cells buzzed with limitless energy.

For the first time in this battle, he felt… infinite.

Slowly, Aiden straightened, his gaze locking onto the Dark Emissary. His lips curled into a dark smile, his eyes gleaming with the madness of newfound strength.

"Well," he muttered, his voice low but sharp, "round one's over. How about we start round two? This time… the final round."

Without hesitation, he layered another command.

"Activate Dark Essence Mode."

The familiar black aura surged around him, twisting and crackling as it merged seamlessly with the blazing dawn-like energy flooding his core.

As he had suspected, Dawn Overflow wasn't a transformation—it was a state. Which meant he could stack it with transformation modes.

Perfect.

Aiden considered for a moment. He could summon the Emerald Vibe Avatar again, unleashing a towering storm of destructive force.

His body radiated dual auras now: black tendrils of dark essence swirling violently against the radiant, limitless light of Dawn Overflow.

The contrast was terrifying, and even the battlefield seemed to tremble in response.

The Dark Emissary's gaze hardened, its voice dripping with venom.

"You dare swallow my artifact…?"

Aiden tilted his head, his grin widening.

"Not yours anymore."

Behind him, Clara and the remaining tech bots stood frozen in awe. The sheer force rolling off him was almost suffocating.

The 1.0 combat bots surged forward, their thrusters roaring as they spread into perfect formation. Their target: the colossal Scorpion Beast, its monstrous frame towering over the battlefield.

Its obsidian shell bore cracks from earlier clashes, proof that it was wounded—yet even in that state, the pressure it exuded was suffocating.

Clara wasted no time. Standing at the center of the formation, clad in her restored 2.0 battle suit, she directed the assault with military precision.

Her eyes behind the visor burned with grim determination. This was not simply survival—it was a desperate fight against extinction.

The cursed island had already devoured too many of their comrades. Elite heroes had fallen.

The "Cursed" had proved themselves not just dangerous, but monsters capable of rivaling the strongest humanity could muster.

Clara knew one thing with absolute certainty—if the Scorpion Beast lived, she and Aiden would not see another dawn.

The creature let out an ear-splitting screech, its five elemental tails lashing in fury.

One tail blazed with fire, spewing molten streams that scorched the cavern and melted stone into rivers of magma.

Another unleashed jagged spears of ice, freezing walls and shattering bots caught in their path.

A third whipped up cutting wind blades, slicing through rock as though it were paper.

The fourth slammed into the earth, causing tremors and hurling boulders like cannonballs.

And the last crackled with lightning, arcs of blinding energy leaping from its tip to strike multiple targets at once.

The bots countered with relentless firepower. Plasma beams rained from above, hammering the monster's shell.

Several units engaged at close range, weaving between the beast's deadly strikes, their cannons firing bursts of scorching light before retreating in synchronized maneuvers.

Clara herself rocketed forward, her thrusters igniting as she swung down with a pair of plasma blades.

Sparks flew as her strike clashed against one of the beast's armored legs. For a fleeting moment, she managed to forced the massive limb back.
