DxD: The Devil

Chapter 11: Chapter 10 'Banquet (1)' (Bonus Chapter)

Banquet (1)

---

I stood in the changing room as two maids adjusted the final touches of my outfit. With a nod, they stepped back.

I gazed at the mirror. I was dressed in a deep blue suit with golden accents and a flowing white cape. Obsidian rings adorned my fingers, their dark gleam complementing my jewelry as the heir of Beleth.

I touched my horns; they were slowly gaining a red hue, just like my eyes. My silver hair was tousled yet elegant, with unruly waves.

'Damn. I cannot wait for future me.'

I was handsome, to say the least.

"How is the situation down, Vivar?"

I asked El Cid. Even though he was my father's knight, he was always with me.

"All the high-class devils have arrived."

I nodded my head. He continued, "The Devil Kings will make an appearance after you go down there."

I nodded again. The castle we were in was one of the Beleth Clan's estates, specifically used for events like this.

Then, I heard a voice in my head—it was Brisha.

'Vael, get ready. Come just as we practiced.'

I signaled to El Cid, who immediately understood. He, too, was in a noble outfit.

I glanced at the mirror one last time before walking out. As I moved through the sealed corridors, I could sense the powerhouses gathered below. The moment I reached the top of the grand staircase; the devils could finally see me.

"Presenting the Heir of Beleth, Vael Beleth!"

Bats flew around me—drones, broadcasting the live event on Devil Tube. I stood still for a second before bowing to the high-class devils.

Then, in perfect unison, the Devil Kings teleported to their seats, taking their places opposite me. Four thrones for the Devil Kings, and one for the Great King himself.

I bowed once again, just as I had practiced. Then, I looked down at the nobles, spotting devils my age among them. The older devils all held a glass of deep crimson liquid—one of the highest-quality wines in the supernatural world.

I stretched my palm, and the same glass appeared in my hand. The Devil Kings and the Great King also held theirs.

Silence. No sounds. No movement.

And then, my father spoke—

"For the Heir of Beleth."

"For the Heir of Beleth!"

The high-class devils raised their glasses. I raised mine.

The banquet had begun.
