Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Friendly Meeting Scheduled
The two girls end up saying goodbye to me side by side, while the supersonic teleportation takes me to the universal college, where I end up appearing in the same place where I met a nice girl.
"Apparently I'm back in the same block where I met Asia, what a coincidence."
Realizing where I was, I just walk to my locker and look for my belongings where I kept my school supplies.
However, I was just rummaging through my locker so that Asia wouldn't think I was going after her, since at the end of this hallway, she was walking towards me while my eyes were focused only on my belongings.
I just remembered something, how crazy... I forgot to text her, now what? Looks like I'll have to make up an excuse.
"Um..."
Asia was making some small noises of excitement, I think she's finished her studies for today... Many hours had passed since I left that ship.
"Aqua, good to see you there, what are you doing?"
"I was getting some scripts that I keep here in the closet, I'm not very organized when it comes to storing important materials at home." Explaining in detail, Asia feels a little moved by what she heard.
"I understand, the house where I live isn't very organized either, hehe ~" Asia says that with a small smile while running her finger through her hair.
A clumsy girl? This is a little new to me... and I thought Ruby was a little like that, technically Ruby was my best friend in my past life.
[Memory Flashback]
"Well... did you jump through my window instead of coming through the door, Shion?" Meimi asked with a confused and slightly annoyed expression.
"I'm sorry, I just didn't feel like talking to anyone... I wanted to focus on our schoolwork, since our group didn't come here."
My apology was accepted, so Meimi let me into her room, which, even though it was messy with cardboard boxes and shoes everywhere, was actually a corner where she also did her individual school projects.
"Strange as it may seem, you're the only one who bothered to show up... We'll have to video call them since they're too embarrassed to be competent." Meimi says in a slightly nervous tone and ends up fiddling with her cell phone.
She had brown hair and beautiful light eyes. I never thought I would have won her over like this... it must be because I'm (hardworking) and (punctual) about my obligations. Even though I was isolated from most people, in a way she valued me for that.
[End of POV]
"We have something in common, very comforting I would say..." Asia, with a slightly embarrassed expression, ends up closing her locker and putting her bag on her back.
"That's quite normal for me, you don't need to feel ashamed... and it's always good to be able to share something about ourselves, it's friendly."
Upon saying that, Asia again flashes a small smile, feeling satisfied to know that even with her small flaw, it was warmly embraced by someone who truly understands her.
"By the way, before I go, I remembered something..."
"I didn't get any messages from you on my phone. Weren't you going to text me since the day we first talked?"
Asia asked, wondering why I had forgotten, and that's when I should have come up with an excuse... but it would be childish to just lie, since she hadn't lied about herself so far.
"Well, I forgot to send it, I end up spending a lot of time doing nothing and when I get busy with something, it's always when I'm really bored and I didn't even think about it, I'm sorry for not keeping my word."
"I understand, it's okay to procrastinate or forget something, I know you didn't mean any harm... but don't forget that you have to keep your word, Aqua." Asia understands my side, but when she reminds me to keep my word, she crosses her arms and looks at me intently.
"You're right, and I'll tell you now what I ended up not sending you."
I grab my phone and send her the message I ended up not sending her that day, and when her phone rings in front of me, she picks it up and reads the message silently.
"Hehe, now I understand."
Her little laugh forced a smile on my face; she really liked that.
"It's a deal, how about this afternoon, Aqua?"
"That's perfect, I'll wait for you there, Asia."
We ended up smiling at each other and said goodbye in the hallway where we were standing.
After talking to Asia and reminding her once again via text message about our first date that afternoon, I ended up finding a familiar silhouette approaching me in the middle of campus.
"Aqua, what happened to you? The rehearsal was today and you didn't even give me a heads up."
It was Akane, as expected. I had an appointment to be at the auditorium where our group was going to rehearse our school presentation as a collective test for the course.
And due to unusual circumstances, where I got involved with a crazy girl with a gun in her hand wearing an extravagantly beautiful dress, I had no choice but to lie, right? And honestly, with Akane, I'd rather lie just once.
"Akane, I was taking care of my sister, who ended up missing school today because she was very ill and overwhelmed with her daily chores."
"Hmm... I see, then why are you here now, right at dismissal time? There's nothing else to do here." She asked with her right hand pressed against her chin.
Suddenly, my mind went blank, and I forgot why I had come here... Wait, what did Ruby ask me to do?
"Aqua? Well?"
My eyes widened when I noticed someone walking at the back of the campus. This was the person I needed to talk to.
