Chapter 11: Be careful what you say
Will
"So, what's your choice, kid?" Riser kept staring at me with sharp eyes, he was still eager to beat me up, in fact, depending on the answer, it would be much more than a few punches.
He would attack directly with fire coming straight from hell.
He was the older brother and his sister was part of his peerage, of course he wanted to keep me away from her.
I was a frog trying to eat a swan, his swan, it was obvious why he was angry. It was obvious that he would protect her.
"I don't know, it's a very difficult and abrupt decision for me to answer..." Riser frowned, trying to understand my reasoning. And it's also obvious, naturally, that this frog will eat this swan meat!

It shouldn't be difficult to ask for a little money or Ravel's hand, so why delay?
And the answer was simple: because I am blessed by fate, I am the son of luck and calamity, chosen to be the incarnation of fortune. How could I be satisfied with so little?
Ask for money and he would only give me a few coins, for which I would have to be very grateful, and they would never reveal the true fortune of the Phenex's to me.
Asking for Ravel's hand was the right decision and would come with all that and more, but he would kill me one way or another.
I felt an intense chill running through my body every time I thought about it, visions, not one or two, but hundreds of them of how I would die if I made the wrong decision. And all the ones involving Ravel were the wrong ones...
Destiny is made up of choices, you'll never know which one is right, but the wrong one is always clear....
"Why the hell put it off? It's not a very difficult question." Riser straightened up, looking at me with murderous curiosity. He knew I was provoking something, but he didn't know what.
"I don't know the Phenex, I don't know how your family got rich, where it comes from or where it's going. I don't know its members, and honestly, having someone pressuring me into a hasty choice seems dishonest to me." Ravel and Sona agreed, this was the right choice. Knowing more always gives you a better chance of making a good decision.

The siblings never even told me about the demonic society, and they would deceive me about my rights if I didn't know and was part of it.
Of course, I could trust Ravel and his father's goodwill... but they were devils for a reason, and I wouldn't blindly trust one of them.
"I think it's a good decision on your part, making a decision blindly is really bad, it's important to know more about the Phenex's. Anyway, when you need anything, don't hesitate to contact us through Sona, your case is very important to us." Ravel sighed and got up with his brother, I noticed that they never complained about being called dishonest...
For me, that was confirmation...
Thank God Sona is on my side. I don't want to imagine what would happen to me otherwise...
"We're going home, we have other minor issues to resolve that we had to delay because of this matter." I nodded and got up too. "I hope I didn't cause you too much trouble, I would feel terrible if I had disturbed you." My expression twisted in guilt.

Ravel was immediately embarrassed and shocked, and she justified herself.
"No, not at all! We have several of these that we've simply put aside for a long time for much more trivial and unnecessary reasons, haha, they're really no big deal, I can even take the day off if I want..." She tried to justify herself in every way possible... she was very restless.
"Really, I wasn't a burden?" I asked her incredulously, the atmosphere still heavy.
Sona, standing next to me, narrowed her eyes, knowing me better by now. She took a deep breath, hoping it wasn't what she thought it was.
Poor thing, because it was exactly what she thought...
"Actually, I think I'll take a nap before doing anything. Even better! I'll take the day off..." I sighed with relief before looking deep into her eyes and saying with relief. "That's good, it's very good to know that."
"Very good indeed..." Sona snorted and slapped her own face, drawing the attention of Riser, who felt like he had stepped into a bear trap, his foot was stuck, and he had no choice.
"Is there a problem, Sona?" Ravel, although intelligent, was still very focused on me and didn't know what was going on. Ravel was too innocent to face the demon in front of her.
I turned slowly to Sona and looked at her with a gentle smile. "I think she remembered that she forgot to do her homework, right, Sona? There's still time for you to go back to your room and do it. It would be very embarrassing for the President to forget something like that, wouldn't it?" She still looked at me with furrowed eyebrows...
"Isn't it?" Sona looked at me, unable to believe what she was hearing, then closed her eyes and took a deep breath, putting on the same gentle smile as me. "You know, you're right, I've been so forgetful these days! You know what, Ravel..." She turned to Ravel with a light expression.
"Ever since this delinquent student joined the school, I haven't been able to focus on my activities. He's always up to something to bother us. Honestly, the next time he gives me trouble, I think I'm going to punch him in the face!" She sighed lightly and let the mood recover, leaving Ravel even more confused.
"I don't think that's a very appropriate punishment for a problem student... but since you're the president, I guess you know what you're doing... well, anyway, we're leaving." We went to the door, and before she said goodbye, I added.
"Sure, just one more thing before you go, Ravel." She and her brother, who by this point knew I was going to do something, looked at me questioningly. "You said you have the day off, right?"
"Yes..." The doubt grew even more in her heart.
"In that case, you can show me your house and the great Phenex clan, right? After all, you're not doing anything today and you're completely free. And my case takes precedence, right? It's important to know more about the clan, you said so yourself, right?" She stared at me in silence, completely frozen.
She had said too much...
