Dungeon Raider System

Chapter 872: The family business part 2

Dana looked all over the place moving from point A to point B to point C and so on, so fast that Uriel thought she left after images behind, though it would not have been hard for him to believe that she had the ability to be in two places at the same time.

She gaped at the sight while inspecting the hanging lamps, she mused in front of the buttons placed on a small panel and she asked what they were for, but the only one who knew was Medusa, then she moved on to examine the furniture.

She saw every little thing and she liked it all.

"Why don't we have a ship like this?" She asked her husband.

"It's not that easy." Jon shrugged.

"But you said they paid you well, how come our son has a better ship than you do?" She pouted.

"Money can't buy everything." Jon admitted as he also was pretty envious of the ship Medusa build for the Dungeon Raiders, though he also knew it had to be a joined effort from the members of the company. From grabbing the materials to deciding on the decoration, every little part of the ship told the story of their friendship.

Of course, a great deal of bickering and fighting occurred when it came to how to decorate the ship and anyone watching them fight would have assumed they hated each other, but no one could argue with the results.

"If it wasn't for the smell, this ship would be perfect." Dana sighed.

"I don't smell anything." Uriel said and directed a meaningful gaze towards Luna.

"Farting is natural. It's a physiological process that results from consuming food and not even hunters are exempted from it." Luna said in her usual monotone.

"It wasn't me, I didn't fart...," Nika said and lingered for a few seconds. "this time."

"I know, it was me." She clarified with the Luna equivalent to a grin, which was actually her same aloof face.

"I'm not talking about farts, If those worried me I would have never married your father," She said to Uriel. "he was a catch even before becoming a hunter, but there was a reason he remained single until he met me."

"Uhm... do you fart?" Luna asked.

"No, dear, gods don't fart." Dana lied.

"Stop with the bloody farts, it's not funny." Jon interjected, his face in red hot embarrassment.

"Of course it is not funny. Blood in the flatulences would be considered a serious medical issue." Luna pondered.

"What kind of smell is it?" Uriel didn't lose his focus and prompted Dana to speak.

"Apparently, you have a cryptid on board. Not a hybrid, a full on cryptid, and a dangerous one at that." Dana said, then pointed at the cafeteria. Needless to say, this managed to get all those present interested and they walked weapons ready inside the cafeteria expecting a huge beast with tentacle limbs and countless fangs.

What they found instead was nothing out of place. The chairs, the tables, everything was set and spotless clean. The rollers were open which allowed a beautiful sight of the clouds and after confirming there was nothing to be afraid of, Jon took a seat by the bar and spoke to the bartender.

"The usual." He said with a grin, but not before rubbing both hands together in anticipation for his whiskey.

"Jon!" Dana scolded.

"What? It must be 3pm somewhere in the world." He shrugged.

"That's besides the point, she's the cryptid," Dana walked closer and looked intently at the woman before speaking to her. "show yourself!"

The maiden remained calmly wiping Jon's glass with the cloth, though before pouring the whiskey she looked at Uriel as though asking for confirmation.

"Do as she says," Uriel said and the maid put the glass away and started undressing. "Stop! Don't do as she said." He corrected himself.

"It was just about to get interesting." Jon made a pout which earned him the murderous glare of the god of death herself.

"What I mean is for you to reveal your true appearance, not to undress in front of my kid." Dana scoffed.

"You are masters' mother, pardon my rudeness." She made a reverence.

"And I'm his father." Jon said with a smirk, though instead of bowing she looked down on him in utter disgust, earning herself a thumbs up from Uriel.

"I cannot reveal a true form, because this is my true form." The maid said.

"I do not believe it for a second, you reek of succubus." Dana insisted.

"That is because I am one," The maid let out a sigh, then continued. "guess there's no point in hiding it. I am the first of my kind, Lilith."

"You are the first woman!?" Dana flinched and started taking distance.

"I am." She confirmed.

"What are you doing here of all places?" Dana asked.

"It's a long story, child." The maid sighed. If anyone spoke like that to Dana she would have felt offended, but the woman in front of her was actually one of the only few people in the world that could actually get away with it and not just because she was older than Thanatos.

"Son, you need to ask her to leave. She's too dangerous, she's even killed gods. She was one of the two first humans ever created, but she refused to breed with Adam. I heard stories about her being a vicious and aggressive creature that was cast out of the Eden because she threatened all of creation."

"First, stop with the 'son' thing, call me by my name to make things easier for both of us. Second, I don't need to do anything actually, this is my company and I run it however I like. And third, if what you say is true and she's killed gods, that's one good reason to keep her around."

"The rumors are true, I'm afraid. But I still think I was justified.Have you ever heard someone say 'I would not be with you if you were the last person on earth?' well, that was me and Adam. Even if they created us with the sole purpose of starting a new species, I just didn't feel it with him. Even worse, he wanted to be on top and I didn't liked to be dominated, but don't worry, my tastes have changed since then and I'm certain I can accommodate to your needs and wants." She made a reverence in front of Uriel.

It always amazed Uriel that the maid was incredibly stealthy to the point where not even he could know where she was. There were also several mysteries surrounding her, though he always assumed she was a hybrid like Luna and decided not to pry on her private matters.

"I just want to know one thing, why are you here?" Uriel asked without taking his eyes from the woman. The thought that she confirmed that she killed gods in the past was terrifying to say the least, but even more so was that millennia had passed and there was no telling in how powerful she could be right now.

"We met by coincidence, if you're wondering about that. That bald creature dug too deep and woke me up from my slumber and I truly did not have any memories. Adjusting to life in a place that felt completely alien made it all seem like a dream. My life was never truly in danger, but you did save me from a boring life underground and for that I will forever grateful to you. There's also the fact that you're a virigin that..."

"Alright, that's enough, you can stay." Uriel cut her short.

"Are you really going to let her stay!? She's too powerful and dangerous!" Dana rebuked.

"You are too, the difference is that I know her for longer than I know you. As long as she continues doing her job like always I don't care if she's the devil herself." Uriel shrugged, then turned to leave as the zeppelin had landed on their destination.

It was a small village that offered a great view. The locals moved about their day carrying groceries, lumber and chatting on the street which made Uriel ponder about how different things were from America. Sure, the people in that small village too relied on technology that was made possible only after the arrival, but their way of living was much more similar to medieval times than it was to a modern cosmopolitan environment.

As an archaeologist Uriel understood it was a regression in technology, but an advancement in culture as the people and he couldn't wait to put his findings about post apocalyptic society into a book. The only thing that stopped him was that he knew that publishing that book would garner him all sorts of negative responses from people who were not ready to accept the fact that the anthropocene was at its latest stage and the era of mankind was on the cusp of twilight.

"You're healed." Uriel declared and Alice replied as she walked past him and into the ship.

"And you're fucking late."
