Chapter 849: Druid circle of death Part 2

What followed could only be described as a purple meteorite going through the Pegasus as the woman infused her movements with such amount of flux she left a shimmering trace behind her and despite all of Jon's might and power he was caught completely by surprise by the woman who pulled him outside the ship leaving a hole in the hull.

"I wasn't flirting, I swear!" Jon found himself giving the lamest excuse of the century after being caught doing precisely that with Kristina who became confused after watching him disappear in a blur.

"Where is our son?" The woman demanded in the calmest voice she could muster despite finding her husband flirting with a woman. It took Jon a few seconds to compose himself and realize he wasn't dreaming and that it really was his wife holding him by the collar.

"I should be the one asking that question! You were with him, Dana," Jon growled more than said. "also, since when you're a hunter!?"

"A hunter!? I'm not a...," Dana heaved a long sigh pondering whether or not she should explain things to him, but eventually coming to the realization that if she wanted answers she couldn't keep the truth hidden anymore. "I'm a god, Jon, and I don't know where our son is."

Jon's perplexity was only matched by his anger as he found himself unable to hold on to sanity anymore. He roared something unintelligible and with tears welling up his eyes he proceeded to do the unthinkable, he punched his wife in the face. Dana shrugged off the flimsy fist and the one that followed, allowing Jon to vent out his years of sorrow, loss, regret and pain.

"Do you know what losing you did to me!? And now you're telling me you're a bloody god! Tell me, what kind of shite god can't even protect their own kid!?" Jon cried, his fists now carrying more sentiment than strength.

"It ain't like I let them do it, they sealed my powers and trapped me in that junkyard." Dana replied crying her eyes out.

"Who is they?" Jon asked, now calm and composed as though his outburst didn't leave a deep crater and a scar on the ground behind his wife.

"Those bastards from the Sage family." Dana muttered each word with seething anger. She didn't know how long she spent trapped inside the dungeon, but she spent every minute thinking on her son, her husband and finding creative ways to exterminate the Sage family and wipe it off existence.

"I know where to find one of them and he better give us some answers." Jon spoke in a cold voice that didn't match his easygoing character.

"Cheers." Said Medusa in response to a violent sneeze that came from Uriel who walked ahead of her..

"Did you catch a cold or something?" Nika lifted an eyebrow.

"No, hunters can't get sick. It's probably dust, but if you want me to check you up you'll need to take out your shirt." Luna said.

"I'm fine." Said Uriel bearing a grin as he made his way across the groove that led to the exit of the dungeon carrying as many treasures he could fit in a sack. He hummed a joyful tune as though he wasn't walking through the hallowed fields ridden with cryptids that could and would cause nightmares to most hunters.

But his joy was short lived as the moment he stepped outside the dungeon he was met with the sight of a dead dragon already in the process of vanishing, an angry Jon Hunter his eyes brimming with power, his face half covered in scales, and Dana with crossed arms looking at him as though she wanted to murder him which was precisely the case.

"We need to talk." Jon said in a draconian voice stolen from the creature he killed minutes ago with the help of his wife.

"She said we could take whatever we wanted!" Uriel said in a rush.

"Forget that crap, I want to know why did your family seal my wife in that dungeon and more importantly, what happened to my son?"

"Are you out of your mind or are you drunk, old man?" Uriel grunted.

"That's not going to cut it, I need to know everything about your family. You can tell us the easy way or the hard way." Jon said before cracking his knuckles.

"Try and get it out of me, see how you fare." Uriel sneered, placing his loot on the ground before getting into a fighting stance.

"Uncle Jon, this is stupid. Please stop." Medusa placed herself between Jon and Uriel.

"Winnie, get the bloody hell out of the way or I'll make you. I don't care if he's your boyfriend, your bestie or whatever, I'll make him talk one way or the other." Jon warned with the last of his sanity and although Medusa was hurt, she replied with a warning of her own.

"Have it your way, but since you started this I won't intervene," She said to Jon, then placed a hand on Uriel's shoulder as she walked by him and said the most incendiary words Jon had ever heard. "go easy on him, please."

Dana had but a handful of minutes to catch up with Jon and she only got a vague idea of the situation, though she didn't need anyone to explain her the difference in power level between a holy rank hunter as she could see it with the naked eye which turned Medusa's words into the first joke she heard in years. Needless to say, spending years trapped inside a dungeon worried sick about her family meant she wasn't in the mood for laughing, but she wondered why no one else laughed, not even Jon.

Despite the obvious difference in power and likely combat experience too, Jon not only didn't laugh but was actually being cautious. Instead of leaping forward like he usually would, he started channeling flux through his body to hurl a jet stream of flames that took everyone by surprise.

"Why am I not surprised you pulled something like that out of your butthole." Jon chuckled in a growl when he saw Uriel remained unscathed after such a powerful attack, not daring to take his eyes off of him for a split second.

"So, that's your trait" Uriel said after dusting off the buckskin relic from the Alamo dungeon that gave him protection against the elements. Despite seeming calm, he was taken aback by Jon's ability to manipulate the fire element as up until that moment he never saw him activate his trait before and he only managed to summon the buckskin in the proverbial last second.

"This is one of my skills. It's called thrill of the hunt and it allows me to steal abilities from my prey." Jon said letting Uriel know he was just getting started, which caused Uriel to grimace, though not for the reason Jon Hunter expected.

Rather than being scared, Uriel was actually excited to fight Jon. It was something he had been wanting to do from the moment he showed his true character and had been thinking about ways to defeat him nonstop.

His experience fighting against holy rank hunters was limited to say the least and he didn't even know if a weakling like Allegro even counted as such, but Uriel had learned a lot in the past few months and was more than eager to show Jon.

"Let's see who is the hunter and who is the prey then." Uriel said before activating Dash and darting forward towards Jon who reacted by lowering his stance. Despite the active skill that allowed Uriel to experience time at a slow pace, he actually moved at Jon's regular speed which meant Jon should have been able to dodge the crimson dagger, but reality begged to differ.

As Uriel neared Jon, he activated the shadow cloak ability he learned from Nika making his presence a shadowy blur that moved way faster than it should. Jon could match his speed, but the unpredictable nature of shadows made it seem as though a myriad of daggers came his way instead of one and the Red thread of fate slid across Jon's face.

"Bloody hell, you're going for the kill." Jon cursed as he noticed the scratch on his cheek knowing that had it not been for the dragon scales covering half his face the story would have been much different. But Jon had little time to ponder about this matter as Uriel repeated the same move from a different angle which came as a relief to Jon as it only worked because he was taken by surprise, but this time Uriel moved faster which allowed him to succeed once more.

"It's not enough." Uriel gritted his teeth as the pain from channeling more flux into Dash caused a strain in his body that didn't go off with the little amount of life essence he stole from Jon.

"It's plenty." Jon muttered, his voice now infused with flux before kicking the ground with such power Uriel could do nothing but watch the speeding bullet of a man heading his way. Or that was what Jon thought until he noticed that Uriel hid a grin beneath his cowering act which prompted Jon to stop in his tracks. From his perspective he braked with his feet on the ground, but to those who saw the fight it was a an explosion that lifted up a cloud of dust.

Now it was Uriel's time to curse under his breath as Jon stopped right before getting tangled in the flux thread he laid on the field causing them to be at a temporary stalemate, but their fight was only just starting and they both had more than a few aces up their sleeve they were more than willing to play.
