Chapter 263 The hunt for entities begins Part 1

"Who are you talking about?" Uriel asked with suspicion after hearing something about a Fedora.

"It's none of your business. What do you want?"

"To the point as usual, huh. Medusa called us downstairs."

"I'm busy." She replied.

"Oh, I'll tell her you don't want the claws you asked for anymore.# Uriel shrugged his shoulders and turned to leave, fully knowing that Luna would follow him.

Since it was past working hours all the employees had left the headquarters, but Medusa kept busy. She was wearing a grey overall but since she was working with heat she had unstrapped the upper part and it hanged loose revealing her low cut black tanktop, yet the most eye catching part of her outfit was a new set of orichalcum googles.

They were stylish, but gender neutral that amounted to her short hair gave her a dorky look.

"Hey! Do you like my new googles?"

"What googles?" Uriel asked blatantly looking at her cleavage.

"Uriel!"

"Sorry, it's the force of habit. I always look at them to avoid suffering the effects of your trait by accident." Uriel replied trying to look sincere.

"Please, just... look at my eyes." Medusa said, frustrated that Uriel didn't notice her new accessory but also secretly happy that he stared at her chest.

Uriel looked Medusa directly in the eye and for the first time in months he was able to see her natural eye color.

"How is this possible!? Did you lose your trait!?" Uriel asked, genuinely worried that she might have lost her powerful ability for good.

"No, it's this googles. Orichalcum can channel flux energy and it's mostly used on weapons to amplify one's trait. In this case, I made it so all the flux energy is stored in a tier 2 battery strapped to my thigh but that's only a temporal fix until I forge a weapon for myself."

"Awesome!"

"That's nice, where's my weapon?" Luna extended her hand, but Medusa looked at her confounded.

"It's not ready yet, I called you for a different reason. I'm worried about Sam. Wait! Luna, don't leave!" Medusa raised her voice to prevent their uncaring friend who lost all interest from going back to her room.

"Call me when my weapon is finished." She yawned.

"I want you guys to hunt entities," Medusa's words piqued Luna's interest and she directed her full attention towards her. "Sam has been using his trait from the top of the tallest building trying to search for clues about the Air spirit people and it worries me."

"Yes, what about the cryptids?"

"I think it's time for us to build our own vehicle and since we have some orichalcum I could make one that's impervious to FODs, but for that I need a material that can't be bought anywhere: Entity level flux orbs."

Uriel himself had been wanting to hunt entities for a long while because the system required him to get a total amount of ten, but the dangers outweighed the rewards and he gave up on the idea.

"I get it, but are you sure it's even possible? I mean, I could probably take on an entity level cryptid on my own, but not without using Water warlock's blessing and I want to avoid that as much as possible. Besides, I can't guarantee the safety of whoever goes with me."

"That's precisely why I also called Luna in here," Medusa nodded as though everything had been settled, but Uriel failed to see her point. "Luna is an expert on cryptids, Sam can spot them from a distance and you can fight them without putting your life at risk." She continued.

"That's good and all, but I thought about that already. We don't have any means to keep our communications open outside the city, cryptids are all over the place and their FODs will prevent us from speaking to each other. Besides, now I can't even store my artifacts inside my trait because I might lose them like I lost the magazine."

"That was before we got our hands into this." Medusa grabbed a thin sheet of orichalcum that folded like wet paper and both Luna and Uriel stared at her like she was crazy.

"What is that?"

"I've explained this to you already, this is orichalcum that hasn't yet been exposed to enough flux energy to solidify. I can use this to make a device that will allow us to communicate with each other, as long as we're not too far."

"How far is not too far?"

"I can't tell yet, but I think it might even reach other countries." Medusa shrugged.

"That's great! Sam could spot the cryptids, tell Luna who will communicate with me and tell me what does she know about them! This is a hunter's dream!"

"Well, yes and no. You would still need to risk your life, that's why I wanted to make something for you."

"I don't really need weapons."

"I know, you have your shiny sword already. No, I was actually thinking on something like this." Medusa said a she pulled the picture of an old looking mask from her phone.

"This is a Maya Balam mask! It looks incredible! Look at all the details, will you really buy it for me?" Uriel was so excited he could kiss her.

"It's impossible, that mask was lost during the arrival just like most artifacts. What I can do is make you something similar to wear, it will help cover your identity and protect you."

"That's not really necessary, I'll be hunting alone so there shouldn't be any issues. The only thing I need is for someone to drop me off." Uriel said trying to hide the disappointment in his voice.

The fact that someone would prefer an accessory made of wood over one made of the most valuable material on earth would have made anyone think Uriel was insane, but his friends knew him too well to be surprised by this.

"Then, the only thing left to do is to arrange your drop off. Good luck Uriel!" Medusa said as she gave him the customary peck on the cheek before he embarked on a dangerous adventure.
