Chapter 113: Ifrit, I have become The World Eater...
A fluttering sensation filled his stomach.
The scent of flowers and beasts spread through the air as everything distorted, twisting and turning for a moment before Leonhardt found himself in the middle of a forest.
The light breeze carried the stench of beasts while Leonhardt held his greatsword over one shoulder and a small black orb in the other.
[Leon... is that?!]
"A monster-summoning orb. Yeah, it's full of bait to summon those dogs to me."
(Hahaha! Let's see, show us what you wanted to show—this Dravanna will watch!)
'...'
Leonhardt drew in a deep breath and raised his hand into the air.
"Let's see how much I can devour!"
[Devour!? No... no way... it can't be!]
(I see... no wonder.)
The voices of both women in his mind became solemn and quiet, but Leonhardt didn't pay attention to them anymore, and he slammed the dark orb against his palm.
The orb shattered, and thin grey smoke spread through the forest.
Normally, one would shatter the orb against the ground, to avoid a dangerous situation, but Leonhardt's eyes shone brightly with his pupils shaped like pentagrams with a tribal sigil in the centre.
He snapped his wrists at the surrounding trees, creating various threaded beams he could use if things became dangerous, his arachne webbing stronger than iron.
Especially now with his evolution, it could probably endure someone who weighed over 700lbs bouncing in it.
"Here they come."
A low grumble, the ground shaking from the distant stampeded of beasts, a cloud of dirt and mess filling their air as they approached rapidly, deranged and without logical thoughts.
Only seeking to devour the thing that smelled like prey.
Leonhardt lifted his sword with a slight rattle before taking a stance, his body oozing with the desire to fight. With his low mana, he couldn't rely on Tyrant Accel like before, at least not yet.
ROAR!
ROOAAAR!
The roars of various beasts spread through the forest before the first of the animals appeared, a pack of almost ten dire wolves, fangs dripping with saliva.
They saw Leonhardt, and their eyes gleamed with hunger, charging towards him without slowing down.
"Good! That's it!"
Although he lost mana to create his Soul Chamber, thanks to the new core, his physical body became stronger, as he rushed forward with heavy, yet well-timed steps, grasping his sword tight.
'No time to think, just react and destroy!'
The moment he reached the closest wolf, Leonhardt swung his sword in a half-moon shape, hitting its shoulder and breaking its bones with ease. His strike sent the monster flying back into the pack. He strode forward, lunging with the tip, penetrating another wolf from face to tail, tearing it into pieces as a red and black essence flowed from their bodies and into Leonhardt's lips.
A massacre followed, his blade like a gleaming reaper of death.
"HAAA! COME AT ME! MORE!" Leonhardt roared as he killed one after another. The beasts that once threatened him were now nothing but stepping stones for his power.
With each kill, he devoured a portion of their strength and mana, though minute, with each kill it restored his stamina, healed any wounds and returned him to an optimal state...
Swoosh!
He sliced through a huge bear, cleaving its black fur down to the crotch.
The beast tried to bite Leonhardt's head, but the man was far too fast and accurate.
His blade turned red and cut right through it without slowing down.
Leonhardt became like a maniac, killing and maiming the forest, destroying anything that came into his path, no matter how small or big... the red and black essence flooding his mouth, leaving him wrapped in a bloody aura.
***
"Haa... Ha.... damn I'm a little tired..." Leonhardt complained. Many types of blood covered his body and robe: blood, black, red, green, blue.
[Leonhardt... the forest is silent...]
(Amazing!)
Although his strength only grew by a few numbers, that growth was enough for him to feel a sense of pleasure. The biggest gain was the small boost to DP, which immediately went into purchasing the land around Arlet—now the top layer and two layers below were his.
Sitting on a broken stub, he gazed at all the meat and wondered if it would fit into his storage or if he could transfer it into a place within the dungeon for emergency food, leather and any other uses he could think of.
When he looked at his attributes in the dungeon window, he smiled.

"It seems that levelling up has become less effective for me now. Is that a change brought about by this core? Maybe it wasn't all benefits?"
He ignored the danger notice beside Zafira's name and continued.
Leonhardt's head cooled off the instant he finished fighting, and once he spent most of his DP on improving the dungeon area once again, he clicked the dungeon interface and wondered how far he could push this before taking over Astrea City.
He gazed into the distance, taking a slow breath while watching the huge tower in the distance.
That was his goal and target.
[You almost died several times, you crazy boy!]
(Don't act like you weren't cheering him on the whole time.)
[Heh! You shut it!]
'Ladies, calm down, my head is killing me.' There was a throbbing ache in the back of his head, probably because he acted on instinct and something drove him to become a little extreme...
Because of the changes to his body, he understood the dangers if someone discovered this ability Leon would be in danger.
He knew that higher races and demons would have skills allowing them to see through his attributes, and thus, it made him feel the desire to rush.
[So what do you plan to do now, still going to rush and create that huge project?]
'Of course!'
[You're so stupid... but I will support you!]
(Heh, see, she's just a softy for you.)
[Dravanna!]
Beep! Beep!
When he stood from the wooden stump, his ear started beeping, and a call from Zafira came from the north, which he answered without thinking.
[◊ Leonhardt, are you busy? ◊]
'Of course I'm not. At least for you anyway.'
[◊ Ehehe, really? I just wanted to tell you we've finished today's business. ◊]
'It seems like we might have some spare time until they contact Dia.
When we get some free time, I want to go to Astrea city with you.'
[◊ Eh? You want to go on a date with me? ◊]
Zafira's voice suddenly became excited, almost shrilling, and she couldn't seem to hold back her emotions.
Even though he had promised her a few days ago, she thought he might forget and instead found just being closer than the past was interesting enough, but the more women appeared, the more frustrating it became for her.
'Should we set a date, and prepare to leave even if nobody contacts her?'
He spent each night with Sylvie and Asuka, but Zafira also needed some affection, too...
[◊ Leon, you're so sweet~ but the dungeon comes first. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch! ◊]
Leonhardt laughed and agreed, thankful that despite her current abnormal state, she remained focused. But he couldn't only focus on her.
The other two women gave up their humanity for him.
Thus, he wouldn't mistreat them.
"Tonight I will spend it with Asuka... she said she wanted to show me something."
Looking down at himself, he quickly took out the teleportation gemstone, something only a Dungeon Master could use and crushed it...
A luminous blue aura wrapped around him as he instantly vanished from the forest.
Leaving death and destruction in his wake.
Little did he know, this action would cause a rumour to spread amongst the hunters and adventurers—a rumour that would bring trouble to his doorstep...
