Chapter 64: Origin of the Five Mythical Dragon Eggs
"Oh," Ayvira said, smiling awkwardly.
She turned to the stats screen hovering in the air and said:
"Ok, my aim for doing this is to decide who gets to bond with the egg by keeping."
Drahon and Devon stared at her, in expectation.
Drahon was still cradling the egg in his hands. It still felt warm and as the soft warm glow radiated against his face, he couldn't help but acknowledge that it felt quite pleasant.
Seemingly like he was enjoying the warmth of hotness somewhere as cold as this.
"We all have our unique traits and somehow I think that applies to the mythical dragon eggs too," Ayvira said, her tone more serious. "From the five eggs, I'll say three fits our personality so much."
She pointed to Devon and then at the screen.
"I don't think you are the right person to bond-keep the dragon egg considering your traits."
Devon stared blankly at her.
She continued.
"Out of the five eggs I think the one that you should bond with would be the obsidian dragon egg." She pointed to the screen now. "Its description reads that the Obsidian Egg is shrouded in shadows, and harbors the secrets of the void."
She paused, maybe just to let that sink in then resumed:
"You are the dark one here, all your dragons are demons. You're clearly the right person to keep the obsidian dragon egg."
"The type of the mythical dragon egg that aligns with me is the Emerald egg. Its description reads that it channels the vitality of nature and growth."
She took a breath.
"My dragons are literally nature-like and so are my draconic powers, making it a great keep."
Devon already knew where this was going.
"The system says over a hundred players are also seeking the eggs, how are you sure we'll find all?"
Ayvira shrugged.
"Aren't you the knowledgeable one here? I mean, you know more about the dragon game than we do, so you should know we shouldn't take the dragon game as we see it. The mechanism and the missions. We are not really certain on anything."
Devon paced around the place.
"So you're saying-"
Ayvira quickly interrupted.
"Yes, I'm saying Drahon should 'bond-keep' the Golden mythical dragon egg because it aligns with him. The description of the dragon egg says that the Egg embodies the essence of light and purity. That should be for Drahon."
Devon nodded.
"Alright," he said. "Let him bond-keep the egg. I wasn't saying he shouldn't earlier, I was only trying to be sure we're doing the right thing and you just clarified that."
Drahon, who had been silent the whole time, now asked:
"So how do I do it?"
"Just mutter the words, I guess," Devon replied.
Drahon nodded. He focused his gaze more on the egg then, his hands well placed on it, muttered:
"Bond-keep!"
Nothing happened at first until two full seconds passed… then…
A surge of light swallowed the egg and engulfed and…
Boom!
It was out of sight.
Then a soft voice echoed in Drahon's head:
[Congratulations player, you have just kept the first mythical Dragon egg.]
Then across the three players, the voice echoed:
[Congratulations players, you have awakened a lore dump!]
'Lore dump?' the players wondered.
Then they heard:
[Lore transferring]
---
Long ago, there lived a being beyond comprehension, the White Primordial Dragon. A creature of immense size and wisdom, her scales shimmered with a brilliance that changed with the seasons, and her presence alone was said to bend the world around her.
She was known by many titles: The First Flame, The Skymother, The Origin. But what most beings did not know… was that she loved.
Not once, but five times. Five lovers, each powerful in their own right, drawn to her not just for her majesty but the deep soul that hid behind her ancient eyes. And strangely, she had loved them all in return.
Each lover was different. Elemental, wild and unpredictable.
The first was Solvain, the Dragon of Light, a radiant creature of golden flames and wisdom. Calm, reserved, yet endlessly compassionate. He brought peace to the Primordial Dragon's heart.
The second, Zephyros, a tempest dragon, ruler of sky and storm. Loud, boisterous, with laughter like thunder. He taught her freedom and the thrill of unpredictability.
The third, Pyrrhax, a war-borne beast cloaked in eternal fire. Brutal, passionate, and fierce. From him, she felt the heat of purpose and rage.
The fourth, Viridion, a dragon of ancient woods, whose breath grew forests and whose steps left flowers. Gentle, soft-spoken, with a wisdom that came from listening. He nurtured her calm.
And the last was Umbryss, the Wyrm of the Abyss. Silent, dark and enigmatic. From him came questions. Curiosity. Secrets and danger.
By nature or by strange ancient magic, she conceived not one clutch of eggs, but five, one by each. No act of mating had occurred, at least not in the ways mortals understood. It was said her essence resonated with theirs at a deep spiritual level, and through a bonding ritual lost to time, fragments of their souls fused into her own. From this, life was formed, eggs born not of flesh, but of will and power.
And so the Five Mythical Dragon Eggs were born.
The Golden Egg, a beacon of Solvain's light. It holds purity, clarity, and the strength to inspire. Those who hold it feel the weight of responsibility, and the potential to lead.
The Azure Egg, child of Zephyros, roils with sky-borne energy. Lightning, wind, and the freedom of the open world glows within it. Speed, clarity of mind, and unpredictability mark its bond.
The Crimson Egg, Pyrrhax's heir, burns from within. Rage, destruction, but also loyalty and raw determination bleed from it. The bearer walks close to chaos.
The Emerald Egg, born of Viridion, glows softly. A connection to life itself. Nature obeys. Healing, endurance, and growth blossom through it. Those aligned to it often carry gentleness and hidden strength.
And lastly, the Obsidian Egg, Umbryss's legacy, cloaked in mystery. It glows with the void, shadows clinging to its shell. Those who align with it walk between worlds and truths.
But tragedy struck.
As the Primordial Dragon neared death, her power fading from the world, she scattered the eggs across different realms. Some say it was to protect them. Others say she foresaw a great evil would one day seek them, and so she entrusted fate itself to choose their wielders.
Now, that time has come.
---
The players opened their eyes in bewilderment.
'The fuck?'
It felt like some AI character entered their heads and narrated this to them.
"Ok, ok," Devon said, as if trying to wake up from a nightmare. "That was a lot of lore."
Ayvira nodded, now dismissing the stat screen which was still hovering in the air.
Normally when something as shocking as this happens, the players suddenly want to know more and well…, that seemed to be the case.
How did this happen in the Dragon world?
While it was a twist and sort of shocking, Drahon couldn't help but wonder that the Primordial Dragon loved all five men at once.
What was that…
Some reverse harem?
In the middle of all these thoughts, golden words in runes flashed across his retina:
[All abilities and Draconic skills upgraded]
[Bond-keeping with the Golden Dragon Egg gives you an upgrade]
