Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Naval Crisis, Vegeta Comes!
Although Kaido was fighting both Kizaru and Aokiji simultaneously, he was still taking more hits than he gave. But with his formidable defense—strong enough to withstand even Garp's iron fist—he held his ground. The two Admirals couldn't take him down for the time being.
Meanwhile, Kaido's subordinates, the Three Disasters, followed their leader's command without hesitation. Along with Big Mom's children, they launched a coordinated assault against Garp.
While none of them individually matched the power of an Admiral or a Yonko, their combined strength was formidable. Garp found himself surrounded, unable to break through to Sengoku to offer assistance.
Faced with this overwhelming force, Garp could only deal with the enemies right in front of him. He found himself envious of the mysterious man who had once appeared to help the Whitebeard Pirates. Garp didn't need that kind of overwhelming strength—he'd settle for the man's flying ability. If he could fly, he would already be at Sengoku's side.
Even Garp, a legendary hero, struggled under the coordination of Kaido's elite and Big Mom's powerful offspring. If not for the help of other elite Navy officers, he might not have held out at all.
But even with support, the battle had become a tug-of-war—and this stalemate was far more dangerous for the Navy than for the pirates.
---
"Dad, it looks like the Navy is going to take a major hit this time. They could even be destroyed," Marco said, gazing through a telescope at the battlefield at Marineford.
Whitebeard didn't respond immediately, but his eyes narrowed.
Can the Navy get help from the Thugs? he wondered silently.
As time passed, the situation continued to worsen. Kaido remained locked in a prolonged stalemate with Kizaru and Aokiji. Though he couldn't defeat them, they couldn't defeat him either. On the other side, Big Mom and Sengoku continued to exchange powerful blows, both of them already bleeding but refusing to yield.
The only minor relief came from Garp's front—two of the Three Disasters had fallen, along with some of Big Mom's children. However, Garp himself was injured, and most of the powerful Navy fighters who had supported him were down. The ordinary soldiers? They were being decimated.
The morale among the Navy was at an all-time low. The pirates weren't faring much better, but they still had the advantage. And morale meant everything in a drawn-out battle.
Sengoku looked around in despair. Seeing so many of his soldiers fall one by one shattered his resolve. But he couldn't do anything—Big Mom kept him locked in a relentless duel. Drawing elite forces away from their current battles would only worsen the Navy's already critical losses. The Navy didn't survive off high-end fighters alone; its strength rested in the masses of ordinary seamen.
That's when he heard a voice.
"You're in trouble. Need help?"
Sengoku froze. The voice hadn't come from the battlefield. It was inside his head.
"Who... who are you?" Sengoku asked, startled.
"I'm someone who can help. Do you want to solve this crisis or not?"
"I don't know who you are," Sengoku replied cautiously, "but if you can really help... then yes! I need your help!"
---
Ding! A new Thugs mission has been generated!
Mission: Help Sengoku and resolve the naval crisis.
---
Jack: "@All members, a new mission has arrived. Get ready to grab it!"
Beerus: "Finally! A new mission!"
Champa: "This time, Universe 6 will snatch it. I won't let Universe 7 take it again!"
Beerus: "Oh please, Champa. If talking could get you the mission, Universe 6 would've already taken the last one."
Whis: "Lord Beerus, let's focus on the mission."
Beerus: "Right, I'm not missing this one!"
Jack: "Since everyone's ready, I'm assigning the mission now."
---
Ding! Congratulations to Vegeta for grabbing the mission!
---
Vegeta: "Excellent. This one's mine!"
Goku: "Vegeta, your luck is crazy! I'm so jealous!"
Champa: "Ugh! Universe 7 again?!"
Beerus: "As long as it wasn't Universe 6, I'm good."
Jack: "@Champa, don't take it personally. The number of people from Universe 6 in the group is still fewer than Universe 7. So naturally, Universe 7's odds are better."
Jack: "Also, Champa, we've already invited everyone from Universe 6 that I intended to. So, for now, no new additions from your side."
Champa: "@Jack, may I ask why?"
Beerus: "Does Jack need to explain himself to you?"
Champa: "I-I didn't mean it like that..."
Jack: "No special reason. I simply invited more from Universe 7 for now. Don't feel bad, though. Compared to most other universes, Universe 6 has quite a few members."
Jack: "Other universes—aside from their Gods of Destruction and Angels—haven't even had a single invite yet."
Jack: "@Vegeta, go finish the mission. And be nice to the employer."
Vegeta: "Understood, Lord Jack."
---
As the portal opened, Vegeta stepped into it and vanished.
Watching him go, Bulma and Trunks weren't surprised. They had seen this before, when Krillin had gone to fulfill a mission. This time, it was their husband and father's turn.
---
Back in the Pirate World...
Wounded by Big Mom, Sengoku found himself weakening. The battle was turning against him. Suddenly, a black vortex appeared in the sky, drawing everyone's attention.
Most of the Navy had seen something like this before—during the Whitebeard War. A mysterious man had descended and changed everything.
The pirates, however, had never seen anything like it.
"A black vortex... again?" Sengoku murmured, memories flooding back.
Could it be another helper for the pirates? If so... the Navy is finished.
As everyone watched, a figure stepped out.
It was Vegeta.
"Who here is Sengoku?" he asked, scanning the crowd.
"I... I'm Sengoku," the Fleet Admiral said cautiously.
Vegeta teleported instantly beside him, startling him. Sengoku couldn't help but recall how Krillin had once done the same.
"You're the employer, right? I'm the Thug here to help."
Vegeta tried to speak gently, remembering Jack's advice.
"Thug...?" Sengoku blinked, then it all clicked.
"So the mysterious man from before... he must have been a Thug as well, hired by Whitebeard?"
"Short guy, red clothes, not much hair?" Vegeta asked casually.
"Yes! That's the one!" Sengoku said.
Vegeta smirked. "I know him. We come from the same place. But he's not as strong as I am."
Sengoku's eyes widened. That meant Vegeta's power surpassed even the warrior who had killed Akainu and rescued Ace.
With such strength now on their side, the Navy's fate could change.
---
"I'm here to help. What are your instructions?" Vegeta asked.
Sengoku composed himself. "I want all the pirates attacking the Navy Headquarters destroyed. The ones in Navy uniforms—don't touch them."
Vegeta looked around and nodded. This request suited him. He could kill instead of merely defeating them. It would be much easier—and more satisfying.
Sengoku's request was understandable. With such a powerful ally, why not take the opportunity to wipe out the Yonko forces completely?
Vegeta's gaze swept across Kaido, Big Mom, and all their forces. Everyone who met his eyes felt a chill, like they were being hunted by a monster.
Big Mom quickly abandoned her duel with Sengoku and retreated to Kaido's side. Garp, Aokiji, and Kizaru joined Sengoku, standing close to Vegeta.
Though he was small and unassuming, his presence radiated terrifying power.
Sengoku quickly explained Vegeta's identity to the others.
Then they understood—this was another warrior from the same place as the man who had killed Akainu. This was the Navy's trump card.
---
"Dad! That same vortex from before—it's back!" Marco shouted from afar.
"And it's not Krillin this time—it's someone else!"
Whitebeard looked through his binoculars and saw Vegeta.
Though he didn't recognize the man, he could tell immediately—this was another member of the Thugs.
And this time... he was working for the Navy.
Whitebeard laughed heartily. "Just as I thought. The Navy was bound to get help from the Thugs eventually. Luckily, I stayed out of this war."
