Dragon Ball: Reborn as King Cold

Chapter 1: Chap1: Prologue

It was just another ordinary day. I was scrolling through Twitter or X, reading endless discussions about Dragon Ball Daima.

"Honestly, I don't know why, but I thought Gomah was going to transform into Janemba because of that eye. It would've been a cool way to bring him back, considering this takes place in the Demon Realm." someone wrote.

I couldn't help but laugh at the comment, though, to be fair, that actually would've been a pretty cool idea.

After closing the app, I decided to play Xenoverse 2, since they just refuse to stop releasing DLCs and give us Xenoverse 3. I jumped into some online matches, picking Frieza, my favorite character in the franchise.

And that's when everything changed.

Instead of sitting on my couch, I was now seated on a massive throne, surrounded by aliens, no, not just any aliens… Frost Demons.

Before I could even process what was happening, memories surged into my mind. There was no pain, no overwhelming shock—just a strange sensation, as if I was simply remembering something I had long forgotten.

But these weren't my memories… Or rather, they were mine now. The memories of Cold.

Or should I say… King Cold.

I had always dreamed of something like this happening to me. The idea of being reincarnated into the Dragon Ball universe, gaining immense power, shaping my own destiny—it was the kind of fantasy I had indulged in countless times. But if I had to choose, I would have obviously wanted to become Frieza.

Or, at the very least, Cooler.

Yet, never, not even once, had I considered the possibility of becoming King Cold.

Strong, yes, but overshadowed by his own son.

And now, I was him.

Thanks to the memories I had just acquired, I now understood exactly where I stood in this new reality. I had recently granted Frieza control over the intergalactic army. While I remained the King of our species, he was now the one commanding our vast empire, leading our forces across the cosmos.

The year was 732.

Tch. With this newfound perspective, I realized something I had never truly considered before.

Frieza was just a teenager.

And Cooler? Despite his composed and calculated demeanor, he was still just a young adult, at least by the standards of our species. They were both far older than they looked, but in terms of maturity and development, they were still in their youth.

As I was lost in my thoughts, a voice gently pulled me back to reality.

"My king, what do you wish to do on this day?"

Turning my gaze toward the source of the voice. Standing before me was a servant, one of my own kind, a Frost Demon, though clearly of a lower caste. Unlike me, her body was slender, her horns smaller, her bio-armor less pronounced. Her posture was one of unwavering respect, head slightly lowered, awaiting my command.

So, there were females of our kind…

The realization struck me as odd, but as I sifted through my inherited memories, everything became clearer. I could now recall exactly how I had conceived my children, not through traditional means, but through asexual reproduction. It was the most common method among our species, an efficient way to ensure our lineage continued without the need for a mate.

Yet, it wasn't the only way.

Our kind was indeed capable of sexual reproduction, but it was an extremely rare practice. Few of us ever chose that path, likely because our species prioritized strength, dominance, and longevity over the bonds of traditional family structures.

And speaking of rarity…

Our numbers were surprisingly small, only a few hundred. My kind are strong even if much less than those of my so-called mutant lineage, despite our power, or perhaps because of it, our kind never flourished in numbers. We were beings of conquest, ruling over vast territories, but we ourselves were a nearly extinct breed.

I see, but enough with that, should I test my newfound power? Or should I begin making changes shaping the fate of this universe with the knowledge I possessed?

So many possibilities…

I straightened my posture on the throne, letting my imposing presence settle over the room. Without hesitation, I spoke, my voice carrying the natural authority that came with this body.

"You, servant. Take me to my ship."

She immediately bowed her head in obedience. "Yes, my king. Shall I prepare an escort to accompany you?"

A smirk crept onto my lips as I waved a dismissive hand. "That won't be necessary."

The servant hesitated only for a second before nodding. "Understood, my king."

As she turned to lead the way. This was my empire. And from this moment forward, the universe itself was my chessboard.

And I intended to play the game my way.

As we walked toward the docking bay, I finally took the time to observe my surroundings.

Our planet, my planet, was a world of eternal frost.

The ground beneath my feet was covered in an endless sheet of ice, so solid and thick that it had likely never melted in centuries. Towering glacial mountains stretched across the horizon, their jagged peaks cutting into the dark, storm-filled sky. In the distance, violent blizzards raged, their howling winds carrying sharp shards of frozen death. There was no sign of lush forests, no vast oceans teeming with life, just a barren, merciless wasteland of ice and snow.

If I had still been human, the sheer cold alone would have been enough to freeze my body solid in seconds. No food, no warmth, no real sources of natural life.

And that made sense.

This was the homeworld of the Frost Demon race. This level of harshness must have been the very reason why we evolved into such fearsome, nearly invincible beings. Only the strongest could be born here.

Arriving at the docking bay, I was greeted by the sight of my fleet, an array of massive warships, each designed for conquest and domination. Some were towering behemoths, built to transport entire legions, while others were sleek, compact, and made for speed.

I didn't need anything excessive. Not today.

My gaze settled on a smaller vessel, I made my choice and stepped aboard.

As I entered the cockpit, the control panels lit up instantly, responding to my mere presence. My fingers hovered over the navigation system.

Where should I go first?
