Chapter 262: Whoever Moves, Dies
Seeing this, Herman smiled and closed his eyes, pretending not to see. As a Demon Hunter Knight, he had no reason to stop another knight from fulfilling their duty.
But as a father, he did not wish for his son to enter the Kingdom of Bavaria. He was a knight with extensive experience in many aspects and had seen through the subtle actions of those Holy Warriors. But he said nothing, happy to let events unfold.
As a Spirit-level Herman, not intervening, and with Leon only at the Gold-level second stage, he naturally couldn't resist the combined attack of over a dozen Holy Warriors of the same level. Even though his fighting spirit was more refined and purer than theirs, it was in vain.
Without his Demon Hunter Armor, he couldn't create a significant gap between him and these elite Holy Warriors.
Soon, the red-haired youth was tied up like a rice dumpling by the Holy Warriors and handed over to his father Herman, who brought him to Muria.
"Sir, could you please look after my son? Don't let him enter the Kingdom of Bavaria until this fog lifts," Herman, aware of Muria's terrifying combat power, asked with a smile.
"You want me to look after your son?" Muria, who had been watching the scene with amusement, raised an eyebrow, looking at Leon lying at his feet with an expression of indignation and unwillingness. Leon, in appearance, seemed three or four years older than Muria.
To the uninformed, the scene seemed somewhat comical. A middle-aged man was holding his nearly adult son, asking a child who looked no older than twelve or thirteen to take care of him.
"I understand the rules!" Seeing Muria's expression, Herman took out a necklace strung with eight rings and handed it to Muria.
"This is..." Muria caught the necklace, extending his spiritual power to explore the rings. "Space rings?"
"Inside are some miscellaneous items, as your compensation. I hope you won't disdain them."
"These things..." Muria effortlessly saw the contents of the eight space rings: elemental crystals, weapons made of extraordinary metals, armors, meticulously arranged books, battle techniques, breathing methods, meditation techniques, secret and exclusive spells, potion formulas, and more. As Herman said, they were varied, and everything was there.
"Hardly miscellaneous." Each item was of great value, even the seemingly ordinary sheepskin scrolls seemed to be treasure or ruin maps, whose value was hard to assess. But considering a Demon Hunter Knight kept them, they must be worthwhile.
"This is your compensation for temporarily looking after your son?" Muria looked at the man before him with a playful smile. "This must be the accumulation of half your life. Surely there's more to your request."
"If possible, I'd like you to protect my son. With his temperament and as a Demon Hunter Knight, he easily attracts trouble."
"Understood." Muria narrowed his eyes. "You're worried that some human scum might harm your son. Fine, I accept this commission,"
"Thank you!" Herman bowed slightly to Muria. "Leon's identity is now exposed, and the powers that come to trouble him might be numerous. If possible, I hope you can protect him until he reaches the Legendary level, but if he causes too much trouble, protecting him until the Spirit level is enough."
"Trouble?" Muria laughed. "I'm not afraid of such things, the more, the better. I'll protect him until he's Legendary."
"I don't need his protection." Hearing Muria's words, the red-haired youth lying at his feet glared at him, feeling very aggrieved.
"Your words reassure me." Herman ignored his son, knowing Muria's terrifying strength best after their encounter. Hearing Muria's promise, Herman's face showed a relieved smile, free of worries.
Dragons might be greedy and arrogant, but one thing was certain: once they made a promise, they would keep it at all costs. A dragon's promise was heavier than mountains, especially for the Gold Dragon clan. So, Herman was willing to entrust his son to a Gold Dragon he had only met three times. He trusted Muria more than his own kind.
"Let's go!" Herman mounted his seemingly ordinary unicorn and charged to the forefront of the Holy Warriors, shouting loudly. As a Demon Hunter Knight, he naturally had to be in the most dangerous and conspicuous position.
"Take me with you, stinky dad." Leon, filled with unwillingness and frustration, had just called out twice when Muria, annoyed by the noise, silenced him with a spell.
"I'll clear the way!" Muria took out his Meteoric Bow, pulling it back like a full moon...
A day later
"Shouldn't you let me go now? My dad asked you to look after me, not to keep me tied up all the time!" Leon, tied tightly with Muria's Stellar Chains and lying in a corner, yelled at Muria, who was engrossed in a spell book.
"Herman indeed didn't ask me to keep you tied up, but he did entrust me to keep an eye on you and not let you enter the Kingdom of Bavaria. I've let you go twice, and both times you tried to sneak into Bavaria. So, it's better to keep you tied up, it's less trouble for me."
Muria glanced at Leon and then ignored him, focusing on his book.
The first time Muria untied Leon, the human youth immediately donned his Demon Hunter Armor, attempting to confront him with its tenfold amplification of his combat power.
But after being smacked to the ground with Muria's Shocking Battle Axe, Leon quickly realized the vast gap in their strengths and stopped thinking about direct confrontation.
Instead, he tried to mount his unique magic-guided warhorse, planning to use its space-traversing ability to leave Patrick Fortress and enter the Kingdom of Bavaria to find his father.
But before he could mount, Muria pulled him down, tying him up and throwing him in a corner... The second time, Muria, feeling lenient, untied him upon his pleas and guarantees, only to find the red-haired youth still attempting to escape and find his father. So, he tied him up again...
"Muria, let me go. I swear on my Demon Hunter Armor, I won't enter Bavaria." After being bound for a day and a night and finding no way to break free from Muria's Stellar Chains, Leon shouted for the third time for Muria to release him. The restraint was uncomfortable for the young man.
"I'll trust you one last time." Hearing Leon swear on his Demon Hunter Armor, Muria pondered for a moment and then retracted the chains. After all, he couldn't keep someone tied up forever.
"Whatever." Seeing Muria immersed in his book, Leon sneered softly, stretched a bit, opened the door, and walked out of Muria's room.
"Where do you plan to go?"
"To bid farewell to those Holy Warriors and look around." Leon answered somewhat reluctantly, looking at Muria, who appeared several years younger than him.
"Don't even think about running away. I've left a mark on you. Even if you enter Bavaria, I can locate you and bring you back."
"There's a mark on me?" Leon's expression changed, and he surged with fighting spirit, carefully scanning his body.
"Don't bother. If I'm willing to tell you, it means I'm confident you won't find it."
"Hmph!" Leon snorted and stopped his futile efforts, heading outside. He really did plan to wander around, since he couldn't enter Bavaria now.
...
Less than ten minutes after Leon left, Muria's expression suddenly changed drastically. Golden dragon flames erupted around him, and brilliant thunder burst forth. "Damn it! Whoever dares to touch Leon, prepare for my wrath! Today, no one escapes."
