Chapter 261: Dad, Save Me!

A dazzling golden array appeared above the red-haired young man, Leon's, head. Streaks of light flew out from the array, falling onto him and transforming into magnificent armor pieces.

In an instant, the red-haired youth was clad in a suit of golden armor that covered him completely. His sword, too, under the golden glow, transformed into a thick and broad knight's sword, inscribed with dense and mysterious runes.

Not only that, but the seemingly ordinary unicorn he was riding also let out a dragon-like roar, undergoing a dramatic transformation. Sharp, slender metallic blades extended from its forehead and every possible point of impact.

The scales, which were like those of a normal unicorn, quickly thickened and fused, forming plates of armor that gleamed metallically.

"Demon Hunter Knight!" Seeing the youth on the unicorn, dressed in plain clothes, transform into a golden knight in the blink of an eye, many Holy Warriors exclaimed in surprise.

Although the tradition of Demon Hunter Knights had nearly died out in this era, with most of these knights who once protected humanity disappearing, their deeds during the dark times, leading humanity's rise in the Demon Hunting era, were still recounted by bards in various versions across every nation, city, and village.

Almost every human youth had heard tales of Demon Hunter Knights, and upon seeing a real one, they could recognize them based on those legends.

This was because certain characteristics of Demon Hunter Knights were hard to imitate, such as their unique way of armor wear and the legendary Demon Hunting mounts that could enter any territory.

"You're a golden Demon Hunter Knight!" Muria narrowed her eyes at Leon wearing the Demon Hunter Armor, then turned to the middle-aged uncle scratching his head awkwardly. "Then, you must be the silver Demon Hunter Knight!"

Though it was a question, Muria's tone was affirmative. If someone was to be found similar to these Holy Warriors willing to rescue people in the Kingdom of Bavaria, the Demon Hunter Knights, who once protected humanity with their lives, were the obvious choice.

Connecting this to the two Demon Hunter Knights of Varianth, and now seeing this father and son pair here, Muria didn't need to confirm the identity of the middle-aged uncle; it was clear.

"Damned kid Leon, how did I end up meeting this little monster here!" the middle-aged uncle murmured softly. He vividly remembered Muria.

In his human form, where he couldn't exert most of his strength, he was struck ten times with an axe by Muria without a chance to retaliate.

So, after the agreed ten rounds, he immediately fled, with no interest in continuing the fight against this monster. In human form, Muria could suppress him, and in his true form, he would be utterly overpowered.

Most importantly, his twin blades were notched by Muria's axe, despite the Demon Hunter Armor inheriting tens of thousands of years of history, especially during the Demon Hunting era, where it was imbued with a portion of humanity's faith.

Its hardness was second to none, even compared to the artifacts used by deities, and yet it was notched in the clash with Muria's axe. Unbelievable, but thankfully, these notches had already healed themselves.

"Meeting for the third time, let me introduce myself, I am Herman Louis." The middle-aged uncle, understanding he couldn't avoid the situation, reluctantly revealed his name, indirectly admitting his identity as a Demon Hunter Knight.

"This is my son, Leon Louis. As you can see, he is also a Demon Hunter Knight," Herman pointed at the youth in armor and introduced.

"Greetings, Demon Hunter Knights!" A Holy Warrior solemnly placed his hand on his chest and respectfully saluted the father and son. This was the courtesy Demon Hunter Knights deserved among humanity.

As the first Holy Warrior saluted, the others also reacted and paid their respects to the pair.

"No need for that." Suddenly, three hundred radiant Holy Warriors saluting him, Herman quickly waved his hand, his face showing a hint of restraint. It was the first time since becoming a Demon Hunter Knight that he had encountered so many people saluting him.

The era of Demon Hunting had ended, and while the Demon Hunter Knights remained, they dared not appear openly. When slaying monsters threatening humanity, they always donned their armor, hiding their true faces.

The restrictions of the Demon Hunter Armor were too deadly for the knights. Although they continued to fulfill their duties, they were reluctant to trust their own kind anymore.

This time, Herman, appearing with his son without any disguise, was already prepared for death...

"I never thought I'd see two Demon Hunter Knights in my lifetime!" The moment Herman admitted his identity, a Holy Warrior couldn't help but exclaim.

"Not only did we see them, but we also have the opportunity to join them in battle soon!"

...

While the Holy Warriors were discussing, about a dozen of them subtly shifted their positions, encircling the father and son duo without making a sound.

"Now can we enter the Kingdom of Bavaria?" Leon, feeling somewhat elated amidst the discussions of the Holy Warriors, asked, his voice slightly metallic due to the beast-shaped metal helmet.

...

The Holy Warrior turned to look at his companions, nodded, and then faced the golden knight, Leon.

"Lord Leon, may we ask you to stay here?"

"Me stay? What about my dad?"

"If possible, we would like Sir Herman to lead us into the Kingdom of Bavaria."

"So, you don't want me to go?" Leon took a deep breath, trying to suppress his anger.

"You're still young and shouldn't enter such a dangerous place. When your strength improves and you become a stronger Demon Hunter Knight, you can protect more of humanity."

"What if I insist on going?" Leon picked up his broadsword, staring at the Holy Warrior in front of him.

"Then we must offend you! Attack together!"

At the command, more than a dozen burly Holy Warriors leaped from their unicorns, attacking Leon from all directions.

"Nobody can stop me!" Just as Leon raised his knight's sword to fend off a Holy Warrior, his Demon Hunter Armor suddenly disappeared.

But he was not willing to give in, erupting in red-golden fighting spirit, only to be quickly suppressed by the combined efforts of the Holy Warriors. Leon was dragged off the magic-guided warhorse by over a dozen robust Holy Warriors.

"Dad, save me!"
