Chapter 249: The Joker King’s Mask

The grey and black fog of the undead ghosts gradually spread, completely obscuring this ghostly fleet from all probing eyes of the outside world.

"Captain Barbossa, could you show a little shame?" Muria, holding the Prison Battle Halberd, twitched the corners of her mouth, looking at the great witch-ghost in front of her wearing a triangular captain's hat. "I haven't reached the level of a legend yet, isn't it a bit shameful for you to target me?"

"It's fine, you weren't a legend before, but now you are," Barbossa, with his translucent crystal phalanges, took out a somewhat comical jester mask and tossed it towards Muria.

"What's this?" Muria caught the jester mask, flipped it over for a look, and frowned.

"The mask of the Joker King," Barbossa drew his long sword from his waist. "Put it on, and you can disguise yourself as a legend, unleashing the might of a legendary dragon!"

"A magical artifact that's useless to legends," Muria commented, tossing the mask in her hand.

"It's useful to me now!" Barbossa stared at Muria. "With it on, you become a legendary ancient dragon."

"Wow, that's quite the scheme. I become a hidden ancient dragon. Then, after you discover me, I reveal my true strength and engage in a conflict with you, trapping you and your fleet here so you can't help Brent," Muria eyed the skeleton in pirate attire before her.

"Smart, worthy of being a descendant of Demos. You guessed my plan in an instant," Barbossa, holding his long sword, placed it in front of him. The bright and white blade reflected Muria's youthful face on one side and his own crystal skull surrounded by a blue soul fire on the other.

"You knew my grandfather?" Muria raised an eyebrow but wasn't too surprised, as this creature was a great witch-ghost who had lived for ten thousand years, so knowing her grandfather Demos wasn't strange.

"Unforgettably painful. Even after another ten thousand years, I won't forget your grandfather," Barbossa said, eyeing his sword for a while before slowly lowering it to Muria's neck. "The grandson of Demos, behave and put on the mask, do as I say."

"What did my grandfather do to you?" Muria glanced at the sword on her shoulder, then ignored it. "You seem to hate him?"

"Kid, you think I wouldn't dare to kill you?" Barbossa, seeing Muria's calm demeanor, warned with an angry soul voice, his murderous intent filling the air.

"Didn't you feel the presence that flashed across the sky just now?"

"So what if I did?"

"If you did, then remove your sword," Muria tapped the blade on her shoulder. "Don't use such lowly threats on me. The Dragon King is watching from above, try touching me and see what happens!"

"Hmph!" Barbossa sheathed his sword. "The Ghost Lord of my Necromantic Council is up there too."

"We're different!" Muria glanced lightly and said, "Tell me, what did my grandfather do to you?"

"..."

"Speak up, and I'll put on the mask."

"Your grandfather, using an extremely despicable and shameful method, trapped my eighty-seven ghost ships," Barbossa spoke bitterly. "Those were the ghost ships I collected from the sea bed with great difficulty."

"Just eighty-seven ships, is it worth it?" Muria was puzzled, recalling the ghostly ironclad fleet she saw earlier. "That number is insignificant compared to your total number of ghost ships!"

"The ships your grandfather took were the largest eighty-seven in my fleet, all main flagships," the ghostly ship captain Barbossa spoke resentfully. "Even the smallest one was larger than the one under your feet!"

"Amazing!" Muria smacked her lips in admiration, filtering out and ignoring the derogatory words Barbossa used to describe her grandfather.

"So, your ironclad fleet was because the main ships were taken by my grandfather, and you had to come up with a new way to build them?"

"Nonsense, I had long begun studying how to mass-produce ghost ships, it has nothing to do with your grandfather," Barbossa's soul fire flared up a meter high upon hearing Muria's words. "Kid, it's your turn to fulfill the promise and act with me."

"I just agreed to put on the mask, I never agreed to help you act," Muria put on the mask, feeling cold against her face. Instantly, the mask merged into Muria's skin, causing her aura to surge towards that of a legend.

But soon, Muria controlled the rising aura, as it was just a superficial shell.

"You're playing me?"

"Tell me a story about my grandfather's past experiences, and you expect me to help?" Muria's mouth curved into a cold smile. "You're not taking me seriously! To make me act, you must pay a reasonable fee. Since you're an evil undead, the price should be doubled."

"I don't have money!"

"But you have ships!"

"Which ship do you want?"

"The one under our feet isn't bad."

"Impossible, this is the last ghost flagship I salvaged from the sea, don't even think about it."

"Hmm, that sword of yours is nice, how about..."

"Impossible, greedy gold dragon, just like your grandfather."

"You want me to work for free?" Muria squinted at Barbossa. "Do you think that's possible?"

Damn it, Barbossa swore that if it weren't for the Dragon King watching from above and knowing that Demos had become a Dragon King, he would definitely skin and flay this little dragon who had just reached the soul intention level. To dare to ask him, a legendary peak witch-ghost who had existed for ten thousand years, for a reward was outrageous.

"Eternal Spirit Gold!" Muria's gaze fixed on the piece of metal in Barbossa's hand, emitting a rich life essence. Legendary metal, unfortunately, there wasn't much, just the size of an adult's palm.

"Take this as your payment, how about that?"

"Too small."

"Take it or leave it!"

"Fine, fine, I'll take a loss. Deal!"

...

"Muria, brother!" Suddenly seeing Muria being taken away by the suddenly appearing undead ship captain Barbossa, the golden dragon sister Caslana exclaimed in shock and quickly sought help from her grandfather in the sky.

"Muria is in danger, grandfather, hurry and save him, we can't let anything happen to him."

"I know!" Hearing his granddaughter's call for help, Alvis reluctantly let go of the legendary bone dragon in his claw, almost ready to explode, and dove towards the ghost fleet covered in ghost fog below. Just as he was about to enter.

"Boom!" The might of a legendary dragon spread, disturbing the ghost fog in turmoil.
