Dr Blessed - In MHA With Lord Of Mysteries System

Chapter 106: Dr. Blessed vs. Stain — How to Kill?!

Dr. Blessed raised his hands, the tip of Stain's sword pressed against his throat.

"Is that how the No-Nose Tribe pays back someone for doing a favor on them—," he said amusingly. "—by cutting their well-wisher's throats?"

"Careful…" Stain pressed the sword forward, almost tearing the skin. "I am not known for my patience against foolery…"

Dr. Blessed raised his hands higher. "I come in peace," he said, laughing. "— and in clothes… Haha!"

Hero Killer: Stain frowned.

This wasn't what he had imagined when he'd thought of Dr. Blessed — the man with over a million-dollar bounty on his head.

This was the exact opposite of his meeting with Shigaraki, he realized.

"What do you want?" he asked, sheathing his sword. "I don't need your favors…"

"Are you sure?" Dr. Blessed asked, walking forward to stand next to Stain. "I just sent Rabbit Hero: Mirko a few miles away… She would be coming back anytime… with a full force of Heroes backing her up…"

Stain's eyes narrowed suddenly.

"What do you want?" he asked for the last time.

Dr. Blessed looked up as the night crept over the sky. "Why do you kill?"

Stain looked up and instantly realized that this man wasn't asking him not to kill, but it was a more literal question.

"… It's easy," he replied, grinning. "There's filth in this world. It needs to be purged. That's it."

"I see…" Dr. Blessed nodded. "But — how do you decide if someone deserves to die? How do you decide if there's nothing left in your target to be redeemed? How do you decide to deal that… last cut?"

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a silvery flash blurred through the space against the black background.

The swiftness and power behind Stain's slash was so much that it sliced right through Dr. Blessed, landed on the tank, and cut through the steel.

To Stain's utter surprise, only a crease appeared where his sword landed on Dr. Blessed's coat.

With a boom, Dr. Blessed jumped away, denting the steel underneath.

Stain tsked, realizing the oddity of the clothes, and blurred behind him in pursuit.

Like two blurs, Stain and Dr. Blessed landed in a dark alley, their feet skidding on the slimy ground.

With a whoosh, Stain crossed the distance between him and the target, his swords raised high.

Tink-Tank-Tink!!!

Slashes after slashes were hurled, but Dr. Blessed kept parrying them away with the back of his hands.

Stain changed strategy and, in between another series of slashes, he threw two daggers.

Once again, defying all logic, Dr. Blessed spun in between slashes and daggers midair as if he didn't have any bones in his body.

Then, he spun on his left foot and kicked, his steel-layered boot landing right on Stain's chest.

With a muffled thump, Stain skidded back, using his swords to arrest the momentum.

As if that wasn't enough, a chill ran down his spine, as if a primal beast was eying him down. He looked up and found the red glow coming out of Dr. Blessed's black mask's eyeholes intensifying.

"Your tongue…" Dr. Blessed said, making Stain's eyes widen in pure shock. "… Your Quirk is related to taste, isn't it?

"I have read the reports. Survivors always mentioned that they couldn't move, getting paralyzed… Some even mentioned that being cut by a sword is somehow related to your Quirk.

"But, with taste in the picture, only one thing makes sense.

"You paralyze your targets by tasting their blood."

Stain silently stood up, adjusting his grip on the swords' handles.

Then, taking a deep breath, he pushed his feet against the ground.

With a boom, he disappeared, becoming nothing more than a black stroke of brush against a dark background.

Left and right, up and down, Dr. Blessed's head kept snapping in all directions, but failed to capture Stain's exact trajectory.

"You are leveling up mid-battle?" he asked, laughing. "I can do that, too, you know…"

Letting out a rattling breath, Stain landed right behind Dr. Blessed, his sword raised high.

Suddenly, and comically, the moment he took a step to put his back into the blow, his foot slipped.

Then, a burnt smell entered his half-nose, as his hair caught fire.

As if that wasn't enough, a bright flash blinded him for a moment.

By the time Stain distanced himself from the oddities, he found Dr. Blessed was fondling a rabbit, caressing its smooth white fur.

"Not Rabbit," Dr. Blessed corrected Stain's thoughts. "It's a hare. Just like you. You know… all that zigzag, fast movements. There's no way I can survive against you like that…

"Perhaps, after today, in place of Hero Killer, they will call you Hare Killer… Haha!"

Slowly, as Stain looked at the animal, befuddled, a shine coursed through the hare as if someone had cast a mirror on it from very, very far away.

Then, as Dr. Blessed let the animal go, the hare grew a size, its eyes glowing redder than blood, veins slithering all over its body.

In the very next moment, two short sword-like blades came protruding out of its forelegs.

And Stain knew things had just taken a much more serious turn.

The hare blurred.

Stain followed suit.

Tink and tank rang out in the alley, mad growling coming from both of their throats.

The hare plunged one of its daggers into Stain's left shoulder.

Something snapped within him, then.

Stain's muscles went taut. His bones itched. His grip on the swords became inhumane. Going beyond, tearing his own muscles, and biting through the pain, Stain appeared right behind the hare.

One beautiful stroke of the blade sliced the animal in half.

Then, with a bloody squelch, the hare exploded.

Huffing and puffing, his vision darkening, Stain slowly turned around.

Dr. Blessed, recording everything with a mobile, was already caressing another hare.

"Hahaha…" Stain laughed like a maniac, pointing his sword at him. "Hahaha… Hahaha! Tell me, then. Have you decided to deal that last cut?"

Dr. Blessed's hand paused over the animal.

Stain let out a bloody smile. "Conviction. To stand for something greater than yourself… That's what allows me to kill… Do you have something like that?"

Dr. Blessed looked up, his chest rising high and low as well. "Everything I do," he said after a while, shaking his head, "is in the service of Mr. Fool."

Stain shrugged. "Conviction need not be yours. Does your Mr. Fool allow killing?"

Dr. Blessed nodded. "If it's necessary…"

"Then—" Stain said, disappearing into the blackness as Pro Heroes arrived, "—stop thinking and just kill… fucking clown…"
