Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Nine Petal Purple Ganoderma & Shui Bing’er’s Promise
Chapter 121: Nine Petal Purple Ganoderma & Shui Bing'er's Promise
Although they had only moved from the mountain to the city, a housewarming celebration was still necessary.
Han Li originally wanted to invite Matthew Nuo and Su Yuntao, but considering that his master and uncle were present, he figured the two would be too restrained to enjoy themselves. After thinking it over, he decided to postpone the gathering for another time.
Overall, the dinner was lively and enjoyable. After the festivities, everyone returned to their rooms and resumed their cultivation.
The next morning, Han Li got busy with preparations.
Not because he was personally involved in setting up the mimicry environment, but because he wanted to relocate the entire botanical garden from the mountain to their new residence.
Initially, he had started the garden to study immortal herbs and at Chrysanthemum Douluo's request. However, after so much time, he had grown accustomed to tending to these exotic plants and found them relaxing.
Since many of them were poisonous, a simple relocation could lead to accidents. With his large spatial soul tool, he was the only one capable of handling the task properly.
By 4 PM, Han Li finally finished reestablishing the garden within the estate. Looking at his hard work, he felt a sense of accomplishment.
Meanwhile, the ice element resources from the mimicry environment had also been successfully transferred. Not wanting to delay any longer, Han Li went to find Shui Bing'er.
"Nervous? Need more time to prepare?"
Han Li smiled as he watched Shui Bing'er take deep breaths every now and then.
"No need. I'm ready. What do I need to do?"
Her expression turned serious. Since Qingluan hadn't formally accepted her as a disciple until now, Han Li hadn't explained much beforehand.
Hearing her response, Han Li chuckled.
"You don't need to be so tense. Honestly, all you have to do is summon your martial soul and cultivate as usual."
As he spoke, a wooden box appeared in his hands. He opened it, revealing a vibrant purple Ganoderma, radiating a mysterious, ethereal aura.
"Of course, you'll need to eat this first."
Han Li handed her the box.
Shui Bing'er took it, examining the herb carefully but finding nothing unusual.
"That's it?"
"Yeah, it's actually not difficult to fix your martial soul problem. The reason your martial soul malfunctions and goes berserk is because it was born incomplete."
Han Li explained it in the simplest, most understandable way.
"You mean… my martial soul's mutation was beneficial, but it didn't fully evolve, and that's why it's unstable?"
Shui Bing'er was intelligent. She immediately grasped his point.
"Exactly. It's not yet stable, and your own strength is insufficient to support its evolution. That's why it occasionally goes berserk."
Seeing her expression darken, Han Li quickly added,
"But don't get discouraged. You've already made it through the hardest part you managed to stabilize its form. Some people aren't even able to support their martial soul's mutation, and their evolution ends before it even begins, causing their martial soul to degrade instead."
"So… my outcome isn't that bad after all."
Shui Bing'er relaxed slightly.
Humans always feel better when they realize others have it worse.
"Exactly. In fact, your martial soul going berserk is actually a sign of its instinctive desire to evolve. Every time it absorbs beneficial energy from the environment, it tries to complete itself. That's why you always feel a surge in soul power after an episode."
"With time, as you continue cultivating and adding more soul rings, you'll naturally reinforce your martial soul. There's a good chance that one day, it will complete its evolution on its own."
Han Li broke everything down for her.
"So… you and Guang Ling lied to us before?"
Shui Bing'er narrowed her eyes slightly, staring at Han Li.
"Not exactly."
Han Li shook his head.
"Your martial soul berserk episodes cause severe damage to your body. The normal fluctuations aren't too bad, but if it loses control again, you might not survive. Even if you do, your soul power will stagnate, and you'll be stuck at Soul Sage or maybe Douluo at best. The damage to your meridians is just too severe."
"You've felt that pain before, haven't you? You should know I'm not exaggerating. Even though you've only lost control twice, can you guarantee it won't happen again?"
Han Li's tone was firm.
He had no interest in deceiving a young girl. Betting on probability?
Eight out of ten times, it ends in disaster.
"…Yeah."
Shui Bing'er shuddered slightly as memories surfaced the sheer terror of feeling like her body was about to explode from within.
She thought about the first time it happened after her martial soul awakening, and the second time just a few weeks ago.
Even now, she still felt uneasy.
"Alright, well that won't happen again. Eat the Ganoderma and cultivate. Once we're done, you'll be a fully evolved top tier beast martial soul user."
Han Li gestured toward the nearby cultivation chamber.
"This can complete my martial soul? This Ganoderma must be incredibly valuable, right?"
Shui Bing'er didn't enter immediately.
Instead, she looked at Han Li.
Her mother had spent years searching for medicine to help her condition, but she had never seen anything as extraordinary as this Ganoderma.
"Yes. It's extremely rare."
Han Li nodded.
"There's only one of these in the entire world. If used properly, it could help an eighty ninth level Soul Douluo reach Titled Douluo effortlessly."
Shui Bing'er's eyes widened in shock.
She was essentially holding a Titled Douluo's future in her hands.
Han Li wasn't being generous without reason.
Shui Bing'er wasn't Xiu'er or Dugu Yan although they were now martial siblings, they had no deep emotional bond yet.
He didn't believe in selfless kindness.
He wanted her to fully understand how much she owed him.
If she knew the true weight of his help, she would remember it forever.
He wasn't a charity worker.
"That valuable…?"
Shui Bing'er's fingers tightened slightly around the box.
Even though she had expected it to be precious, she had no idea it was this rare.
"If it wasn't, how else could it repair your martial soul's very foundation?"
"You'll understand more in the future."
"Now then Ice Bing'er, this Nine Petal Purple Ganoderma is your 'bride price'. It's time to begin."
Han Li teased, urging her on.
Shui Bing'er's evolution required his ice element control to assist her, ensuring the process went smoothly.
It had to be done while he was in peak condition.
"…Alright. Thank you, Senior Brother. I will repay you one day."
Shui Bing'er looked at the box one last time before bowing deeply.
Her voice was solemn.
Han Li smiled.
"Good. Then I'll look forward to your repayment, Junior Sister Bing'er."
His tone was casual, but his eyes gleamed with satisfaction.
Shui Bing'er nodded, saying nothing more.
She turned and walked into the cultivation chamber.
Han Li followed close behind.
