Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Post Battle Social Death and Leaving the Mountain

Chapter 120: Post Battle Social Death and Leaving the Mountain

Han Li did not return to the stands. Instead, he walked straight out of the arena.

"What's wrong? You won, but you don't seem happy."

A voice that shouldn't be here rang out behind him.

"Master? What are you doing here?"

Han Li turned around, surprised to see Guang Ling along with the three girls standing behind him.

"My disciple won. Of course, as a master, I must personally come to congratulate you. Everything else, your Uncle Qingluan can decide for me."

Guang Ling reached out and messed up Han Li's hair, leaving it disheveled.

"I'm not unhappy, just… not used to this kind of situation…"

Halfway through his sentence, Han Li fell silent under Guang Ling's knowing gaze.

"Alright, alright, I was once your age too. How could I not understand what you're thinking?"

"You're upset because even though you were the victor the applause only started after your grandmaster clapped first. It feels like the applause wasn't truly for you, right?"

Guang Ling's amused tone struck Han Li's sore spot.

"A little bit, yeah."

Caught off guard, Han Li could only mumble an uncertain response.

"This kind of thing is actually very common in a big organization. It's just that this time, because of the special circumstances, it was even more obvious."

"You're usually quite smart, so why can't you see past this? Or do you think that I, your uncle Qingluan, and the girls here aren't truly happy for you?"

Guang Ling playfully punched Han Li's shoulder, then gestured toward the three girls standing behind him.

Han Li was taken aback.

He turned to look at them Xiu'er, Dugu Yan, and Shui Bing'er all smiling at him, their eyes filled with genuine excitement.

A warmth spread through his chest, and most of his frustration faded away.

"Yeah… I guess I was just overthinking things."

Han Li's expression returned to normal, and he smiled.

"Exactly! The applause of those irrelevant people doesn't matter. When they see you again after this, they'll be the ones fawning over you with forced smiles."

Guang Ling laughed heartily, wrapping an arm around Han Li's shoulder as they walked forward.

"But I have to say, you were really putting on a show out there."

Guang Ling mimicked Han Li's voice from the battle, his face full of mock arrogance.

"Be grateful for your weakness. I even have to hold back my power to avoid accidentally killing you."

Han Li froze.

The moment he heard his own words being recited back at him

"Oh no."

His soul left his body.

Behind them, the three girls burst into laughter.

Xiu'er and Shui Bing'er covered their mouths, their shoulders trembling as they tried to suppress their giggles.

But Dugu Yan?

She didn't even try to hold back.

She leaned on Xiu'er's shoulder, laughing so hard that she couldn't breathe.

"Master, please stop!" Han Li's face turned red. "I only said that to make you proud!"

"Oh? I didn't feel that at all. If anything, you seemed to be enjoying it yourself!"

Guang Ling grinned.

"Weaklings have a chance to become stronger, but fools there is no cure for them."

"Seriously," Guang Ling laughed, "your words hurt them more than your actual attacks. I bet after this fight, just hearing your name will give them PTSD."

"Hey, do you have any more lines like that? Teach me a few I wanna use them in my next fight."

"Wait, why are you running?! Just teach me a few, it won't kill you!"

"Fine, fine, slow down! Alright, alright, I won't say it anymore! Just wait for us!"

On the way back to the Worship Hall, Guang Ling's laughter and the girls' giggles echoed through the air.

Meanwhile, Han Li sped ahead in silence, pretending he didn't know them.

Even though Han Li thought he was thick skinned, for the next few days, anytime he saw someone smile at him, his face burned with second hand embarrassment.

Seeing his reaction, the girls finally stopped teasing him directly.

However they started secretly memorizing his battle "quotes".

They genuinely thought his lines were cool.

They even considered asking him to teach them more.

A week passed since the fight.

After the initial buzz, Han Li's life returned to normal.

Qingluan later informed them that Qian Daoliu and Bibi Dong had issued a gag order nobody was allowed to discuss the specifics of the battle outside the Worship Hall.

At the very least, Hu Liena and her team's reputation was temporarily protected.

But inside the organization?

Every single high ranking official now knew what had happened.

Hu Liena's dream of becoming the Holy Maiden?

Dead.

Even if her name wasn't publicly disgraced, within the internal power structure of Spirit Hall, she would never escape this stain.

Meanwhile, Han Li's name had begun circulating among the high ranking members.

His rise had officially begun.

And there was one more good piece of news

After spending over ten days with Shui Bing'er, Qingluan had finally agreed to take her as his disciple.

Unlike Guang Ling, Qingluan kept things low key.

He didn't host any grand ceremonies.

He didn't even take her to Worship Hall.

He simply informed a few people, and it was settled.

It suited his personality perfectly.

At the same time, Han Li made another request to move into the city.

This time, Guang Ling agreed without hesitation.

In fact

He was moving too.

Not only that, he convinced Qingluan to move as well.

Technically, besides Qian Daoliu, Guang Ling and Qingluan were the only Worshippers who lived permanently in the mountain.

Guang Ling had gotten used to having Han Li and the others around, and he didn't want to live in an empty, quiet place anymore.

At that point, he figured why not just move down with them?

Luckily, Han Li had already prepared for this.

Ever since he started earning money, he had secretly purchased all the properties surrounding the mansion that Golden Crocodile had given him.

He even renovated them so that the three properties were connected.

That way, if Guang Ling and Qingluan ever decided to move in, they could all live together.

And just like that they packed up and left.

Since none of them lacked money or storage space, the entire move took just a few hours.

As they arrived at their new home, Han Li noticed how relaxed everyone looked.

Guang Ling and Qingluan exchanged glances and chuckled.

This was exactly why Han Li had wanted to move.

The mountain was nice safe, quiet, and heavily guarded.

But the endless rules and regulations?

No thanks.

"I'll handle Bing'er's mimicry environment," Qingluan offered after choosing a courtyard for himself.

"Good! I wouldn't dare compete with you over your own disciple." Han Li smirked.

Shui Bing'er rolled her eyes at him and picked the courtyard right next to Qingluan's.

"I'll take care of her martial soul problem tomorrow night," Han Li added.

"Once that's done, I'll take her to get her second soul ring," Qingluan nodded, "and then we'll visit her family to reassure them."

Han Li awkwardly scratched his cheek.

Translation?

"I'll clean up the mess you and Guang Ling made."
