Chapter 114: Fate Works in Mysterious Ways, Qingluan's Breakthrough, and the First Meeting Between Master and Disciple

As Shui Bing'er entered her cultivation state, Guang Ling leaned in closer to Han Li.

"You looked troubled earlier. What's wrong? Is her martial soul issue really that difficult to fix? If so, we can just send her back. Your uncle wouldn't mind me going back on my word it wouldn't be the first time." Guang Ling spoke without a hint of guilt. If Han Li simply said "it's difficult," he was ready to toss Shui Bing'er back without hesitation.

"No, Master, you're overthinking. I wasn't worried about that. Her martial soul issue is actually quite easy to solve. It's already one of the most powerful martial souls; she doesn't even need an immortal herb. As long as we supplement the underdeveloped origin of her martial soul, she can surpass most people just by cultivating on her own." Han Li replied with a wry smile.

"Then why the long face? Isn't it better if she doesn't need an immortal herb? That girl is sharp unlike Xiu'er and Yan'er. I was worried she might outsmart you." Guang Ling commented, clearly impressed with Shui Bing'er.

"Master, what are you saying?" Han Li shot Guang Ling a glare, ignoring his tendency to enjoy watching his disciple squirm.

"I was thinking about her soul skills. A martial soul as powerful as the Ice Phoenix if I mess this up, it'll be a laughingstock."

"I'm familiar with ice attribute enhancement skills. Come, let me help you analyze." Guang Ling grinned. "But hey, don't get too relaxed. When we return, Bibi Dong will likely make a move. As for that Hu Liena… teach her a lesson, and make sure it hurts."

"Or better yet, why don't you take on three opponents at once? A little extra challenge never hurts."

The master and disciple huddled together, diving deep into soul beast analysis.

Shui Bing'er chuckled behind her hand. She had seen him repeatedly urge the carriage driver to move faster throughout the trip.

"Good, now I can introduce you to Xiu'er and Yan'er. I think you'll get along well." Han Li responded with a relieved smile.

"Alright, I'm actually looking forward to meeting them now." Shui Bing'er said with a gentle smile.

"Alright, we've arrived at the base of the Elder's Mountain. We'll have to go up on foot from here."

As soon as the carriage came to a stop, Han Li was the first to hop off, calling out to Shui Bing'er.

"This is the longest I've ever been in a carriage. Stretching my legs sounds like a good idea."

Shui Bing'er also stepped down, gazing at the city lights below while the mountain before them glowed as if radiating its own light a spectacular sight.

"Huh?"

Just as Guang Ling stepped down from the carriage, he suddenly looked up toward the mountain peak.

Hearing his reaction, Han Li and Shui Bing'er followed his gaze upward.

Suddenly, the sky was illuminated with a bright cyan glow, accompanied by a sharp phoenix cry. The lingering clouds above trembled as if something had disturbed them, creating ripple like waves that rapidly spread outward from the mountain peak.

Then, as the sound waves descended, the three at the foot of the mountain were buffeted by a fierce gust of wind, forcing them to squint their eyes against the force.

"Looks like we arrived at just the right time. Your uncle has broken through." Guang Ling's joy was obvious as he turned to Han Li.

"You two take your time climbing up. I'll go ahead."

Before Han Li could say a word, Guang Ling transformed into a streak of white light and shot toward the peak.

"That breakthrough… is my future teacher?"

Shui Bing'er glanced at Guang Ling's rapidly disappearing figure before turning to Han Li.

Han Li's face was filled with excitement.

"Yes, that was Uncle Qingluan. Let's hurry up too his breakthrough is complete, and you've just arrived. This is fate."

As he spoke, his wings unfurled behind him, and he extended his right hand to Shui Bing'er.

Shui Bing'er hesitated for a moment before taking his hand.

Watching Han Li's enthusiastic expression, she couldn't help but mutter to herself, He's not doing this on purpose, right?

Even though Han Li was incredibly fast, carrying someone else meant adjusting his flight speed. By the time they reached Qingluan's residence, the celestial phenomenon had already ended.

From the voices inside, it was clear that more than just Guang Ling was present.

"Congratulations, Uncle!"

As soon as Han Li entered the courtyard, he called out loudly before he even saw anyone.

However, as soon as he stepped past the courtyard's barrier, he was greeted with an unexpected barrage of comments.

As the last voice fell, Han Li felt something was off. Then, he noticed everyone's eyes were now on him.

Xiu'er and Dugu Yan, in particular, were staring at him with displeasure especially at his still clasped hand with Shui Bing'er.

He followed their gaze and realized that Shui Bing'er's face was completely flushed. Clearly, she had picked up on the teasing comments.

Without making a fuss, he released her hand, momentarily blocking out Xiu'er and Dugu Yan's gazes, and turned toward the last speaker Lion Douluo.

"Lion Uncle, don't slander me. This is Shui Bing'er, my future junior sister. Since you're saying such things, you'll have to prepare a double gift for her. I just hope you have enough storage soul tools left."

"Hey, you brat!"

Lion Douluo chuckled and shook his head. He knew Han Li was joking but also realized his words had been a bit inappropriate. He wouldn't put it past this kid to actually make him prepare extra gifts. It wasn't that he minded spending the resources it was that he didn't want to be teased by the others. He decided to keep his mouth shut.

"Congratulations on your breakthrough, Uncle!"

Han Li stepped forward and sincerely congratulated Qingluan.

"Thank you, Han Li. It's all thanks to the resources you shared with us that I was able to break through successfully."

Qingluan remained as gentle as ever, his excitement subdued but present in his tone.

"Alright, time to clear out. You old guys can ask your questions tomorrow. We don't want to scare the younger ones."

Guang Ling unceremoniously chased away the other Elders, making a decision for Qingluan.

"As expected of you, Guang Ling. Fine, we'll talk tomorrow. Third brother, we'll take our leave."

Qianjun and Jiangmo bid farewell, and Lion Douluo followed suit he didn't want to stick around and risk more teasing.

Guang Ling leaned in to whisper something to Qingluan before gesturing toward Shui Bing'er.

"Shui Bing'er?"

Qingluan's gaze landed on the slightly nervous girl, his voice soft.

"Yes, greetings, Elder. Congratulations on your successful breakthrough."

The blue haired girl responded cautiously, offering her well wishes.

"Let's get to know each other over the next few days. How about that?"

Qingluan's gentle voice carried no pressure.

"Yes, Elder."

Shui Bing'er obediently adjusted her form of address.

Meanwhile, Han Li grabbed Dugu Yan's hand from his waist and looked toward the group.

"Master, Uncle, why don't we head to my place? There's a meal already prepared let's celebrate properly."

"Alright, let's go."

Guang Ling looked at Qingluan for confirmation before agreeing.
