Lin Yongming thought the Blue Silver Emperor was just speaking casually—who would have thought she'd actually come looking for him?
They had only met by chance. Sure, he had seen her bathing, they had stayed at the same inn, and even spent a night in a tent together—but that was it.
"Why are you so quiet? Oh, I see. While I was away, you must've found new companions, huh? And now you've forgotten all about me? That's just heartbreaking." Blue Silver Emperor's voice carried a trace of irritation.
"…I didn't expect you to be this kind of Blue Silver Emperor," Lin Yongming muttered under his breath.
"Yongming, is this your friend?" Lin Chong asked at that moment.
"Little Blind Brother, who is this?" Blue Silver Emperor asked softly.
The other villagers had already left, but Lin Chong remained.
In all these years, this was the first time he had seen a girl come looking for Lin Yongming, so naturally, he was curious.
"Dad, let me introduce you. This is Lan Yin. I met her when I went out to find my second spirit ring. She helped me a lot."
"Sister Ah Yin, this is my father."
With no other choice, Lin Yongming introduced them to each other.
Little Blind Brother's father?! Oh no, oh no. I just called him 'Little Blind Brother' in front of his dad. He won't be mad, will he? Blue Silver Emperor thought anxiously, her face turning slightly embarrassed.
This girl is quite elegant for her age. She doesn't seem like a villager. And since she's a Spirit Master, she's probably from a wealthy family, Lin Chong thought to himself.
"Hello, Uncle. Please forgive me for the abrupt visit," Blue Silver Emperor said nervously when Lin Yongming's father looked at her.
He's not really mad, is he? She felt uneasy seeing Lin Chong's serious expression.
"You're called Lan Yin? That's a good name. Thank you for helping Yongming. He said that without you, he wouldn't have been able to obtain his second thousand-year spirit ring. I appreciate it," Lin Chong said with a smile.
"Oh, it's nothing, Uncle. Ah—um, Xiaoming helped me too." Blue Silver Emperor almost blurted out Little Blind, but she quickly corrected herself.
"No worries. You can call him Little Blind—all the kids in the village do. I won't be offended," Lin Chong reassured her, picking up on her awkward hesitation.
Then he turned to Lin Yongming. "Yongming, since your friend came all this way and even helped you before, why don't you invite her to our home for dinner? We should properly thank her. Your mother should be finishing up the meal right about now." With that, Lin Chong turned and started walking back toward the village.
"Alright, Dad," Lin Yongming nodded.
"Little Blind! Why didn't you tell me your father was here?!" Blue Silver Emperor whispered furiously to Lin Yongming.
"You're the weird one here. This is my village. Where else would my dad be?" Lin Yongming replied, exasperated.
"No, that's not what I meant. I mean, won't your father be mad that I called you Little Blind?" she hurriedly explained.
"Relax, he won't mind," Lin Yongming assured her. "But seriously, it's getting dark. Why did you come at this hour? And what made you think of coming to find me?"
Blue Silver Emperor pouted. "Oh, don't even get me started! I thought your village was close to Wuer Tuo Town, but it took me hours to get here."
"I also stayed home for over two months. After breaking through to the Spirit Ancestor level, I decided to go out and train. I wasn't sure where to go, and then I thought of my adorable Little Blind Brother, so I came to find you."
Lin Yongming shook his head helplessly. "Alright, since you're here, let's go have dinner at my place. I really should thank you. Last time, you helped me hunt a spirit beast, but we parted in such a hurry that I didn't get to properly express my gratitude."
"You're talking, but why are you shaking your head? Are you saying you don't welcome me?" Blue Silver Emperor questioned immediately.
"…Just hurry up. I'm hungry. Aren't you?" Lin Yongming cut the conversation short and started walking home.
"Oh… You didn't respond, so that means you do welcome me," Blue Silver Emperor said as she followed him.
"Also, I just told you I broke through to Spirit Ancestor. Aren't you surprised?"
"When we parted, you were already a Level 39 Spirit Elder. Breaking through in two months isn't shocking."
"Aren't you at least curious about what spirit ability I got?"
"Not really."
"Come on! At least ask me about it."
"Not interested."
"Just be a little curious! I'll tell you if you ask."
Lin Yongming ignored her and kept walking.
"Hmph! You're just as cold as you were two months ago," Blue Silver Emperor pouted.
Her talent was indeed remarkable—she was not even twelve years old and had already reached Spirit Ancestor level.
Then again, every hundred-thousand-year spirit beast who transformed into a human seemed to have outstanding talent.
"Little Blind Brother, is that your house up ahead?" Blue Silver Emperor asked when she spotted a stone house in the distance.
"Yeah. By the way, are you nervous?" Lin Yongming asked, nodding.
"No! Why would I be nervous? I have no reason to be nervous," she retorted quickly.
"Right… You're totally not nervous," Lin Yongming said sarcastically. "Relax. My parents are really easygoing."
Why is she so nervous? This is weird. Lin Yongming thought to himself.
"I'm not nervous!"
"Sure, sure."
As they walked through the gate, Lin Yongming called out, "Mom, Dad, I'm home!"
"You're back! Oh? Didn't your father say you were bringing a guest?" his mother, Yinglan, asked gently.
"Hello, Uncle, Auntie!" Blue Silver Emperor stepped out from behind Lin Yongming and greeted them politely.
"Hello, dear. Make yourself comfortable. Don't be shy—we just have one more dish to finish," Yinglan said with a warm smile.
"Thank you, Auntie! Please, don't let me interrupt your cooking," Blue Silver Emperor responded.
"Come sit over here," Lin Yongming led her to a wooden bench.
Sitting down, Blue Silver Emperor suddenly looked like a quiet, well-mannered young girl. Lin Yongming couldn't help but wonder—was this really the same talkative person from earlier?
Not long after, Lin Chong brought the dishes to the table. "Dinner's ready! Yongming, bring your friend over. Since she was coming, we made two extra dishes."
Yinglan also brought out another dish from the kitchen. "Come, sit down. Make yourself at home."
Lin Yongming's parents warmly welcomed Blue Silver Emperor.
I wonder if she'll accidentally mention she's actually thousands of years old… That would definitely freak out my parents, Lin Yongming thought idly.
"Sister Ah Yin, let's eat," Lin Yongming tugged her arm.
"Alright!"
Blue Silver Emperor followed him, a bit flustered. Lin Yongming had no idea what was on her mind.
Soon, the table was set with a meal—two meat dishes, three vegetables, and an egg soup.
"Dear, it's just a simple meal, I hope it's to your liking," Yinglan said kindly.
"Auntie, I'm not picky! Everything smells delicious—it must taste amazing," Blue Silver Emperor replied.
"Good, good! Eat up, don't be shy. This is the first time Yongming has brought a friend home for dinner."
Throughout the meal, Yinglan occasionally asked Blue Silver Emperor questions, leaving Lin Yongming with no chance to join the conversation.
As night fell, another issue arose—where would Blue Silver Emperor sleep? Their house only had two bedrooms…
