Bibi Dong watched as Haerli and the others made their way toward the hidden cave.

"This is the first mission my teacher has assigned to me. I must succeed."

The terrain was treacherous—easy to defend but difficult to attack. The platform in front of the cave entrance was so narrow that only one person could stand on it at a time.

The last elite member yet to descend flashed a lantern three times toward the other side—an agreed-upon signal.

"Deacon Koruzi, there's movement on Her Highness's side!"

"That's the signal. They've found something. Move!" Koruzi ordered as he led his team toward Lin Yongming's location.

In just a few moments, Koruzi and his men reached Bibi Dong.

"Your Highness, has Haerli already gone in? Then we'll head down as well," Koruzi said upon seeing Haerli approaching the cave.

"Go ahead. We'll follow shortly."

Although this mission was led by nine-year-old Bibi Dong, she was destined to be the future Empress. Her intelligence was exceptional, and she wouldn't recklessly put herself in danger without first assessing the enemy's strength.

A few minutes later, Haerli reached the cave entrance and carefully inspected it, noticing fresh traces of human activity.

"Signal Her Highness. There are fresh tracks—it's likely they're hiding deeper inside," Haerli instructed one of his teammates.

"Understood, Deacon."

A moment later, a light signal flashed toward Lin Yongming's location.

"Blind kid, they've found something. I'm heading down. Do you want to stay here or come with us?" Bibi Dong asked.

She was well aware that Lin Yongming's strength wasn't high and that his blindness made navigating such treacherous terrain difficult. Even if he went down, he wouldn't be of much help.

On second thought, she decided for him. "Never mind, stay here. We'll take care of the evil soul master soon."

"That works. I'm only at the Grand Soul Master level—I wouldn't be much help anyway. Stay safe, Your Highness," Lin Yongming nodded without protest.

After all, he was indeed weaker than the rest. With so many powerful individuals in the group, his presence wasn't necessary.

More importantly, if a battle broke out, he wouldn't just be useless—he could even get injured in the crossfire.

Bibi Dong nodded at his response and carefully descended, pressing herself close to the rock face to reach the cave entrance.

Lin Yongming remained where he was, waiting to watch the show. Once Bibi Dong joined the others, they entered the cave one after another.

"Two Soul Douluos, one Soul Sage, nine Soul Emperors… This is nearly the strength of one of the lower four sects. The fight should be over quickly."

About half an hour later, Lin Yongming sensed chaotic fluctuations of soul power at the cave entrance—evidence that the battle had begun.

The mountain trembled occasionally, shaking with the force of their battle.

"Seems like this fight is quite intense. That evil soul master must be formidable."

Ten minutes later, the chaotic energy waves continued, but the sounds of battle had faded. The cave fell into complete silence.

"It should be over by now."

Sitting idly on a rock, Lin Yongming's thoughts wandered.

"Having interacted with Bibi Dong all afternoon, she's obviously intelligent and cautious. So how did someone like her get deceived by that guy?"

"Could it be that love really lowers a woman's intelligence?"

Just as he was indulging in random thoughts, he realized something was off.

It had been nearly ten minutes since the cave went silent, yet Bibi Dong and the others hadn't come out.

"That's not normal."

"Did something go wrong?"

"I should check the entrance."

Lin Yongming made up his mind and carefully climbed toward the cave.

As he approached, his unease grew stronger.

Upon reaching the entrance, he activated his Heart Eye and scanned the inside of the cave.

What he saw made his heart sink.

Bibi Dong and the others were in complete disarray, their formations completely broken. Worse yet, he witnessed an elite member killing one of their own.

At the far end of the cave stood an old man with a sinister smile. Behind him loomed his martial soul—a dark, shadowy figure. It wasn't an ordinary martial soul but something terrifyingly eerie—Nightmare Shadow.

"Hehehe…"

"Yes, that's it. Kill each other! Once you're all dead, I'll absorb your soul power and ascend to Soul Douluo—or maybe even reach the Title Douluo level!"

However, what caught Lin Yongming's attention the most was a strange stone in the old man's hand.

"What is that? Why do I feel an inexplicable attraction to it?

"Bibi Dong and the others must be trapped in an illusion array."

"I need to break it if I want them to wake up."

Lin Yongming carefully observed the illusion array.

Despite their confused states, the evil soul master had not moved an inch. He simply stood in place.

"Looks like he's immobilized after activating the illusion. That means he can't attack them directly—he can only wait for them to kill each other before he moves. If that's the case, this array won't be hard to break."

Lin Yongming deduced that once the illusion was cast, the evil soul master became unable to take action. Otherwise, it would have been the perfect opportunity for him to personally eliminate the two Soul Douluos while they were mentally compromised.

Since he hadn't, it meant he couldn't.

"That must be the array's flaw."

Even after figuring out the general situation, Lin Yongming remained cautious. Before stepping inside, he summoned his Thunder Blade and activated his soul rings.

After all, this enemy had seven soul rings. If he made a mistake or let his guard down, it could cost him his life.

"Hmm? Another one? A mere Grand Soul Master?"

"Hah! The Spirit Hall sent children to catch me? How insulting. But thanks to your carelessness, I was able to sacrifice two of your own to activate my Magic Mirror Phantom Array," the evil soul master sneered upon detecting Lin Yongming's presence.

"A Grand Soul Master is nothing. Now that you've entered my array's range, you're as good as dead," he scoffed, paying no further attention to Lin Yongming.

After all, the real threats—the two Soul Douluos—were still under his illusion. They were his true targets.

"Aahh!!"

A bloodcurdling scream echoed in the cave as yet another elite member was slain.

The overwhelming stench of blood filled the air.

"Such thick killing intent… No doubt, this is an evil soul master."

Lin Yongming continued to monitor the evil soul master as he moved deeper into the cave.

Interestingly, he noticed that the old man never moved.

"That confirms it. My hypothesis was right."

As he walked further in, the passage widened significantly.

After about ten minutes, Lin Yongming finally reached Bibi Dong's side.

"Your Highness, wake up!"

He grabbed her by both arms and shook her gently, but there was no response.

"Kill… Kill…"

All he heard from Bibi Dong was a low, cold whisper.
