Chapter 12: Chapter 12: The Three Limit Douluo
Chapter 12: The Three Limit Douluo
Just then, a golden meteor descended from the sky, landing beside Qian Xunji and the whale-type soul beast's corpse.
"Greetings, Great Consecration!"
Upon seeing Qian Daoliu, the Hall-Guardian Douluo immediately dropped to one knee.
"Father, you're here."
Qian Daoliu said nothing in response, his gaze settling on the ten-thousand-year whale gelatin in Qian Xunji's hand. Ultimately suppressing his urge to smack some sense into this disappointing son, he turned away. "Is the information about Sea God Island true?"
Qian Xunji answered, "Why not go see for yourself? Head toward the eleven o'clock direction. With your speed, you won't need half an hour to get there."
With that, Qian Daoliu transformed into a streak of golden light, vanishing before Qian Xunji. He had reached the limit of his patience; this son truly had no promise.
Not privy to Qian Daoliu's thoughts, Qian Xunji believed his actions were all justified—done for the future development of the Wuhun Hall.
Two yellow, two purple, and four black soul rings—eight in total—emerged beneath his feet.
With his Angel Martial Soul attached, Qian Xunji also flew off in the direction of Sea God Island.
There is no most powerful martial soul, only a soul master who knows how to use it to peak effectiveness. Qian Xunji believed that every martial soul had its weak points. Even if it truly had no flaws, the wielder could still mishandle it.
For generations, the Clear Sky Hammer overshadowed the Wuhun Hall. Though reluctant to admit it, Qian Xunji had to concede that the Clear Sky Hammer remained a looming threat. Thus, in the coming battle among the three peerless Douluo, he had to observe carefully—especially Tang Chen's combat style. He needed to spot any shortcomings of the Clear Sky Hammer so he could devise strategies to exploit them.
Given that the Clear Sky Clan had relied on its old achievements for tens of thousands of years, with heads full of muscles and blind faith in Tang Chen, they wouldn't be able to adapt if precisely targeted. Otherwise, they wouldn't have spent so many generations just hammering iron before Tang Chen emerged.
Far from Hanhai City, on an isolated island, lay an area partitioned into eight sections. It was large enough to rival a dependent kingdom of the Heaven Dou Empire. The island enjoyed a perpetual spring-like climate and lush vegetation. A lavishly built urban cluster also existed here, known as Sea God Island, lauded as the holy land of sea spirit masters.
At the island's center stood a palace towering over a thousand meters high. There, a pair of eyes that had been closed for countless years suddenly opened, turning toward a particular direction.
A figure knelt on the floor, arms crossed before a statue. She appeared around 1.8 meters tall, fully draped in a long robe. Her snow-white hair flowed behind her, nearly brushing the ground. Her soft features appeared no older than thirty, yet her beauty derived more from her refined, noble, and gentle demeanor.
"A Limit Douluo—heading for Sea God Island."
Bo Saixi rose. With a slight movement of her hand, a three-meter-long scepter appeared. It was golden, the same gold as that glimmer she had sensed in the sky. The staff was carved with magic-like patterns; at its tip was a sharp diamond-shaped protrusion, similar to a spear's head. Five inches below that tip, a diamond-shaped golden gem was inlaid. Bo Saixi vanished from the Sea God Palace in an instant.
"So this island truly houses a deity?"
Arriving some tens of thousands of meters from Sea God Island, Qian Daoliu scanned the invisible golden barrier that shielded the island, keeping it in perpetual spring. He marveled—he himself could never achieve such a feat.
Suddenly, Qian Daoliu sensed a soul power fluctuation matching his own. He halted, spotting a red dot pass through the golden barrier. In mere moments, it arrived before him.
"Friend, why have you come to my Sea God Island?"
Bo Saixi hovered several dozen meters away from Qian Daoliu. Her voice was gentle and pleasing, like a sea that had become tranquil, smoothing out all turbulent waves.
"Qian Daoliu of the Wuhun Hall. I heard there was a deity's inheritance on Sea God Island. Seems the rumors weren't baseless."
Qian Daoliu gazed at Bo Saixi's stunningly beautiful face and sensed a power comparable to his own. His heartbeat inexplicably quickened.
"I am Bo Saixi of Sea God Island. I've heard of your Wuhun Hall, known to possess the inheritance of a god."
Both were servants of gods. Though Qian Daoliu hadn't yet passed the Angelic Eight Trials, his body bore the remnants of the Angel God's divine power. Each recognized the other for what they were.
"We are both servants of gods and hold the rank of 99 Limit Douluo. Shall we fight today to see who is stronger?" Qian Daoliu proposed, releasing the immense soul power of a Limit Douluo. A massive Angel Martial Soul materialized behind him, radiating a blinding golden glow.
"Certainly."
Eight black rings and one red ring—nine in total—rose at Bo Saixi's feet. She, too, was ready to battle. Raised on Sea God Island, she had awakened at age six with a martial soul bestowed by the Sea God. Her status had been supreme from birth. Except for her Sea God Trials, she'd barely fought anyone at her level. Reaching rank 99 Titled Douluo, she could repel all the Holy Pillar Douluo on Sea God Island with a single palm, leaving her long since starved for a worthy foe.
At last, she'd found one, and she naturally wanted a proper showdown.
Qian Daoliu's gaze shifted behind Bo Saixi to a figure entirely sea-blue, with a mysterious face obscured from view.
"This is my martial soul—Sea God."
"Then let us begin."
Golden light lit up Qian Daoliu's right arm. A golden bone transformed into a sacred and unadorned three-foot-long sword in his hand—the Liangtian Sword, which, like Bo Saixi's Sea God Scepter, was a half-divine tool.
In a flash, the two vanished from their positions. The Sea God Scepter and Liangtian Sword clashed. Centered on the two of them, the surrounding ocean waters heaved thousands of meters high, turning into a massive tsunami radiating in all directions.
Sea God Island was protected by a divine barrier and thus remained unharmed, but numerous sea spirit beasts were overturned by the crashing waves. Many even died under the aftermath, leaving soul rings behind.
In the Clear Sky Clan:
Tang Chen sensed two vast soul power fluctuations erupting from a place far away. He immediately rose, excitement and battle lust gleaming in his eyes. He hadn't expected there to be another Limit Douluo in the world besides Qian Daoliu.
Only a soul master who reached rank 99 knew just how powerful that realm truly was. To put it plainly: with the same martial soul, soul rings, and soul bones, a 99 could crush a 97 using soul power alone. Even if the opponent came at them in waves, it would be mere child's play.
Tang Chen rocketed from the Clear Sky Clan's stronghold like a black cannonball, racing toward Sea God Island.
Across the sea:
Beating his four wings, Qian Xunji gazed tens of thousands of meters ahead, where dark clouds churned, waves roared, and two brilliant lights—one gold and one blue—shone. For the first time, keen anticipation lit his face.
His own strength and spiritual power were nowhere near enough to observe a Limit Douluo showdown. Merely being within a few thousand meters of the battlefield would get him killed by the aftershocks.
