Douluo Dalu: Three-Headed Dragon King

Chapter 167: Bibi Dong—Don’t Blame Me for Being Ruthless

Yu Xiaogang might be a complete failure, but ironically, he was someone who cared deeply about appearances. Hearing Bibi Dong bring up his humiliating past of cleaning toilets again, he quickly blurted out his true reason for coming.

"Your Holiness, I want to know how you overcame the difficulty of cultivating with twin martial souls."

The moment those words left his mouth, Yu Xiaogang's usual calm was completely gone. His eyes were filled with hope and unease.

If it were just for himself, he would never have come to beg Bibi Dong. But for the sake of the godson he had just acknowledged, for the chance of being recognized across the continent, he had no choice but to swallow his pride and come here.

What he hadn't expected, though, was for the white moonlight of his youth to bring up the toilet story again and again. The immense shame made him regret coming entirely. Now, he only hoped Bibi Dong would quickly give him an answer—good or bad.

"Hahaha… You came for Tang San? But why should I help you? So you can raise a powerhouse to oppose me in the future?"

Bibi Dong's tone suddenly turned cold. She slowly circled Yu Xiaogang, then said meaningfully, "Yu Xiaogang, you're too late. Just a few days ago, I already sent two Titled Douluo to ambush the Heaven Dou Empire's path to the finals. Their target was your godson—born of the Clear Sky Sect and possessing twin spirits. You no longer need to know anything about twin martial soul cultivation."

As she finished speaking, Bibi Dong's heart surged with a strange satisfaction.

She had recently received the intelligence report on Tang San. While his dual spirits were impressive, that wasn't what shocked her most—it was the coincidence.

She had always rejected Qian Renxue, a descendant of the Angel bloodline, and instead poured her maternal affection into her disciple Hu Liena. At the same time, far away, Yu Xiaogang took Tang San as his disciple and even adopted him. They were strangely in sync.

Most critically, Tang San, like her, was a once-in-a-century twin spirit wielder. Could this really be mere chance? Wasn't it destiny?

After all, it was only because of Tang San's existence that she—who was innately restrained by the Angel bloodline—had a chance to take down Qian Xunji. Was this not fate's arrangement?

Bibi Dong smiled, lost in her own thoughts. 'Tang San, you truly are my lucky star. Hopefully, after your death, Xiaogang will finally face his feelings.'

Yu Xiaogang, however, had just watched his dreams of recognition shatter. Without Tang San, no one would prove his theories. History would only remember him as a 0.5 innate soul power waste, a plagiarist madman, a janitor in Blue Tyrant Academy.

His body trembled violently, then his legs gave way and he collapsed to the ground. In near madness, he pleaded:

"Why? If you just tell me how to cultivate twin spirits, I swear Xiao San will never go against Spirit Hall! Why are you being so cruel—he's just a child!"

Bibi Dong stared at him, momentarily stunned. 'Could it be… was it all one-sided? He'd rather clean toilets for his sister than come to me. He'd flip out for Tang San but not even glance my way? Then what were all these years of emotion for?'

A tide of humiliation swept over her, turning the once-elegant Pope into a woman scorned.

"Hahahaha! What a joke! You'll scrub toilets for your sister, fight me over some adopted son, and still have the gall to beg for my help? Then I won't give it to you! Not only will Tang San die, Liu Erlong must die too!"

Yu Xiaogang's breath caught. Her cold, snake-like eyes made him realize this was no longer the devoted girl of the past—she was now the ruthless Pope.

At that moment, a knock came from the door.

"Get out! I said no one is to disturb me!" Bibi Dong shouted.

Outside, a hoarse voice replied, "Your Holiness, we failed the mission. Elder Chrysanthemum was gravely injured and is currently being treated…"

Yu Xiaogang froze. The rage faded from his eyes, replaced by smug satisfaction.

Bibi Dong's expression changed drastically. That voice—wasn't it Ghost Douluo?

She ignored Yu Xiaogang and immediately questioned, "You two acted together. How could anyone possibly stop you? What happened? Who injured Elder Chrysanthemum?"

"It was Yu Tianming of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. His strength is terrifying. Elder Chrysanthemum was severely injured before he even attacked. Only by using our Martial Soul Fusion Technique could we escape. Oddly, despite having overwhelming strength, he didn't kill us. He let all our fighters go."

Bibi Dong's expression grew darker. "Sea God Island… did Yu Tianming go there during his years of disappearance? For a land soul master to pass the Sea God's trial…"

Back when Yu Tianming drew the Sea God's Trident, even Qian Daoliu felt it. With the inheritance of Rakshasa, Bibi Dong had also sensed the birth of a new Sea God.

Ghost Douluo continued, hesitating a moment. "Yu Tianming is engaged to Ning Rongrong of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. Last night, we also found he has a close relationship with the Heaven Dou Crown Prince…"

He didn't finish, but Bibi Dong understood his meaning. Twenty years ago, Yu Xiaogang betrayed her for his sister. Now, his nephew was not only engaged to the princess of a top clan but had also seduced her own daughter.

Though Bibi Dong had not seen Qian Renxue in ten years and didn't particularly like her, this news hit her harder than expected.

All her lingering love for Yu Xiaogang turned into pure hatred.

With bloodline spirits like Death Spider Emperor and Devouring Spider Emperor, Bibi Dong was never gentle. As she turned back to Yu Xiaogang, her face twisted with rage.

"Yu Xiaogang, and Yu Tianming… I never imagined your clan would produce two such freaks…"

Yu Xiaogang, of course, had no idea Qian Renxue was her daughter. Thinking she was mocking his nephew to insult him, he also lost control.

"Bibi Dong, you used to be so kind, but now you're nothing but a foul-mouthed hag, bitter and venomous!"

Before he could finish, a loud slap cut through the room.

Thud! A muffled crash echoed through the grand hall. Bibi Dong's palm sent Yu Xiaogang flying, a deep red imprint swelling on his cheek.

"Get out, Yu Xiaogang. I am the Supreme Pope of Spirit Hall. This is just a warning. Next time you dare offend me, don't blame me for being ruthless."

She turned her back, tears streaming silently down her face. Despite her rage and disappointment, she still hadn't killed him. Against Yu Xiaogang, Bibi Dong always had a strange tolerance.

Yu Xiaogang didn't speak again. He clutched his face and left the grand hall without looking back.

"Ghost, how long until the Heaven Dou Empire's caravan reaches Spirit City?"

"If they maintain pace… less than a week, Your Holiness."

......

After the surprise attack, Qian Renxue—still posing as the Crown Prince—ordered the Heaven Dou caravan to speed up.

Busy managing the affairs between teams, Qian Renxue no longer had time for private talks with Yu Tianming, who now spent most of his days lying in bed, contemplating future cultivation paths.

Until one day, a bouncing figure in pink slipped into his room.

"My lord, I've reached rank 40. Can you let me out to obtain a spirit ring?" Xiao Wu nervously fidgeted, her voice barely a whisper.

She knew she was under surveillance. If she left without permission, Yu Tianming would catch her. Her only chance was to use the excuse of hunting a spirit ring.

Yu Tianming opened one eye and looked at the girl before him, a 100,000-year soul beast in human form.

"Already level 40? Impressive. If you were allowed to cultivate freely, even Tang San couldn't keep up."

Xiao Wu remained silent.

Yu Tianming smiled faintly. "Hunting a spirit ring, huh? I'd like to see how a soul beast gets one. I'll take you myself."

"I already spoke with Dean Flender. He agreed to take me."

Before she finished, a pull from Yu Tianming's mountain dragon king soul bone dragged her to his bed, fear flashing in her eyes.

"I said, I'm taking you. Understood?" His narrowed eyes gleamed dangerously.

"But… Dean Flender…"

Before she could argue, he gripped her throat and pulled her closer.

"You're not trying to escape, are you?"

"No, my lord… I…"

He didn't give her another chance. In the next instant, they appeared deep in the forest, and beside them, a massive soft-boned rabbit, the size of a small cow.

"Enough talk. This is your spirit beast. Absorb the ring."

The creature trembled, its eyes pleading with humanlike emotion.

Xiao Wu closed her eyes. With a heavy heart, she said, "As a re-cultivated soul beast, my innate skills are sealed in my bloodline. I can manifest them into rings at will. I don't need to kill."

To her surprise, Yu Tianming laughed.

"I've never seen how that works. Show me."

Xiao Wu sat at the base of a tree. Three rings—yellow, yellow, purple—rose beneath her feet.

Then, with no warning, a white ring emerged above them, slowly turning yellow, then deep purple. In less than the time it takes to burn a stick of incense, she had reached rank 40.

"So that's how soul beasts form rings…" Yu Tianming realized it was like extracting a piece of her power and refining it into a ring—similar to the process of absorbing a god-given ring.

He thought to himself, 'If martial souls could cultivate independently, they'd awaken skills just like soul beasts. God-given rings just inject divine power to create high-year spirit rings—the abilities still come from the martial soul itself.'

He pulled Xiao Wu into his arms and vanished, reappearing in the Blue Tyrant Academy's carriage.
