Douluo Dalu 2: Sun-Moon Glory

Chapter 136: Chapter 134: The Holy Son Arrives at His Loyal Holy Spirit Cult

So what if her parents were revived as skeletal zombies or some kind of undead? For Nana now, just being able to embrace them again was already something she had once considered impossible. Besides, Tang Si had said it himself—the resurrected souls wouldn't become puppets different from who they were in life, but rather, real, living people in decayed undead bodies.

"Rise. This sort of thing is nothing but a wave of the hand for me."

After that, Tang Si gave Nana her first mission.

Simply put, he needed her to infiltrate the Holy Spirit Cult's local branch and supply him with all available intelligence. Tang Si's ultimate goal was to penetrate the upper ranks of the Holy Spirit Cult. After considering it, he realized that simply hiding his strength and playing the fool would take far too long. Directly approaching figures like Ye Xishui or Zhongli Wu and claiming he wanted to become a Holy Son would be abrupt and suspicious—it would only make these evil soul masters wary.

After all, where would such a prodigiously talented young evil soul master suddenly come from?

So, Tang Si intended to take control of the branch where Nana was stationed and use it as a foothold—a personal power base and springboard. From there, he would slowly devour all the Holy Spirit Cult branches in Mingdu, one by one. Eventually, his actions would catch the attention of the evil soul master elders controlling the Cult's underground forces in the city. On one hand, it would give him the opportunity to purge the Holy Spirit Cult's hidden dens. On the other, his seemingly overambitious plan to seize power within the Cult would make him appear as a useful pawn—one with both strength and ambition. The type the Cult's leadership could trust to serve as a Holy Son.

After all, someone who could control all the Holy Spirit Cult branches within Mingdu proved two things. First, he had the talent and power to be a top-tier evil soul master. Second, he was clearly someone with ambition. And to the upper echelons of the Cult, ambition made someone easier to manipulate—and easier to trust.

"Master, are you planning to launch a direct assault on the branch I'm stationed at?"

Nana asked hesitantly.

Tang Si nodded and replied calmly.

"That's right. Do you have any objections? Speak freely."

"Master, Nana dares not offend you. It's just... within my branch of the Holy Spirit Cult, there's an elder—a Soul Douluo-level evil soul master whose strength is quite formidable."

Nana spoke nervously, worried that a single wrong word might anger this "powerful being from another world" standing before her.

Truthfully, calling Tang Si a "powerhouse from a past life" wasn't far off. After all, the body he now inhabited had once been the supreme Ruler of Death in the mythical world of Electus. That power had been real.

Tang Si answered indifferently.

"You needn't worry. With my current strength, dealing with that won't be a problem. Especially when these so-called masters of death and soul dare to flaunt their tricks in my domain."

Nana's heart trembled. Even though the Ruler of Death had lost most of his strength, he still had the power to deal with a Soul Douluo-level evil soul master?

In fact, Tang Si's actual combat ability was around that of a four-ring evil soul master. However, thanks to his unique undead magic and the fact that the elder soul master would be completely countered within Tang Si's domain, he indeed stood a real chance. And if that wasn't enough, Tang Si also had access to Huo Yuhao's remote support from his main body, along with other powerful soul masters promised by Jing Hongchen to assist Huo Yuhao.

After that, Tang Si and Nana worked out the action plan. He didn't want to delay any further—the sooner the Holy Spirit Cult's hideouts in Mingdu were destroyed, the better. The strategy was pure blitzkrieg.

"We act in three days. Follow my lead at that time."

"Yes, Master."

Nana knelt on one knee, a flicker of fervor flashing in her eyes. She could finally see hope.

---

Three nights later

A slender figure stepped out from the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy. Her long, dark red hair was tied into a neat ponytail. Clad in a tight-fitting black outfit, she blended well into the night, concealing much of her natural allure.

As she passed through the academy gates, the guards gave her only a glance before smiling and letting her through. Who didn't recognize Nana—the rising star of the Soul Engineering Department? Rumor had it that she had earned her place, by strength alone, to represent the academy in the next Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Dueling Tournament. She was the center of attention in the academy these days.

Normally, students couldn't come and go freely. Only teachers at the director level could grant special permission. But Nana was an exception—she had long since been authorized to leave the academy at will.

Once outside, her pace quickened. After turning a few corners, she looked around carefully, then slipped into a dark alley.

"Master."

Nana called softly.

A figure materialized in the shadows—it was Tang Si.

He nodded solemnly.

"Lead the way."

Previously, Tang Si had formed a soul contract with Nana using undead magic. This contract allowed him to sense her presence and travel to her side instantly via the undead demi-plane. Naturally, the contract was wicked and utterly unequal. As the initiator, Tang Si held complete control over the contract. If Nana ever entertained thoughts of betrayal, he could take her life with a single thought.

Huo Yuhao even considered improving this contract spell so he could bind it to Sister Meng. That way, he could feel Meng Hongchen's call no matter where he was and arrive at her side immediately.

The undead gate—capable of two-way teleportation through the demi-plane—had given Huo Yuhao great inspiration. Its potential was limitless.

Nana looked in awe at her master's sudden appearance and silently praised his greatness in her heart. She bowed respectfully and said, "As you command," then turned and began leading the way.

Over the past three days, Nana had made several visits to the Cult's local branch, gathering intel for Tang Si. Although Tang Si wasn't afraid of the Soul Douluo-level elder stationed there, the real threats within the cult's sanctuary were the First and Second Saints—two Soul Emperor-level evil soul masters. Just to be safe, Tang Si decided to act in phases. First, he would take the place while the Soul Douluo elder was away.

Nana moved quickly, familiar with the route. Her tall frame—over 1.8 meters—gave her long, slender legs. Even though she was just walking, her light steps carried a sense of speed and grace like the wind.

Even so, it took her nearly half an hour to reach their destination. Looking ahead at an unremarkable building, she murmured,

"We're here. It's that courtyard about 300 meters ahead. The one with the black roof."

At the corner of the street, Nana pulled on a white hood, followed by a conical hat with a veil that covered her face. Then she strode swiftly toward the location she'd just pointed out.
