Douluo Dalu 2: Sun-Moon Glory

Chapter 135: Chapter 133: The First Servant of the “Holy Son”

Tang Si watched coldly as Nana knelt on the ground, consumed by a nightmare of her painful past. She was like a madwoman, trembling uncontrollably. Then, he spoke calmly.

"Wake up."

As he spoke, golden light flickered in Tang Si's eyes. The necromantic magic, derived from the Heart of Undead Annihilation, spread across Nana's body, forcing her out of the nightmare and back into clarity.

Nana shivered violently.

'I fell into that nightmare again...'

She murmured guiltily while kneeling. Then, she looked up at Tang Si's cold and stern face. Fear once again filled her eyes as she spoke with a trembling voice.

"How did you know?"

Tang Si didn't answer. Instead, he calmly asked,

"Do you want revenge?"

Nana's tear-streaked face froze for a moment. Then she instinctively nodded.

Because of the Holy Spirit Cult, the happy family she once had was slowly devoured by evil soul masters until it was completely destroyed. If it were possible—if she could help her parents' souls trapped by the Holy Spirit Cult find peace—she would do anything for vengeance.

At the thought, Nana clenched her teeth. But how could that be possible? She was under constant surveillance by the Holy Spirit Cult. Even the Soul Ancestor-level elder at just one branch was far beyond her power to resist. Who could she turn to for help? The rulers and royals of the Sun Moon Empire could no longer be trusted. How could she dare go to the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy, which represented them, for aid? Her most likely fate was to be fully brainwashed by the Holy Spirit Cult and reduced to a complete evil soul master.

"I can help you get your revenge. But first, you must follow me."

Hearing the undeniable tone in Tang Si's voice, Nana looked at him in a daze. Countless questions swirled in her mind—who exactly was this person? How did he know so much? Why was he helping her? Just to make her, a mere Soul King, his servant?

"You... what do you want me to do?"

Nana was well aware that nothing came for free. Tang Si was likely a terrifying existence with the traits of an evil soul master. The oppressive evil aura around him far surpassed that of the Soul Ancestor elder she remembered. A powerhouse like this helping her must come with conditions.

"Just as you've sensed, I am not human. You may call me the King of the Undead."

Far away, lying inside the Hongchen household, Huo Yuhao gave a wicked smile as he manipulated Tang Si's body. He began to spin a vivid tale for Nana—a classic routine:

Tang Si was once a powerful being in another world, a ruler over all the dead, the sovereign of death, and the great King of all Undead. Until one day, a cataclysmic event occurred—the heavens collapsed, the earth shattered—and he, the King of the Undead, was accidentally sent to this world.

In essence, Huo Yuhao took the worn-out cliché of a powerful being transmigrating to another world and losing most of their power, then dressed it up with drama. While this story might have been utterly overused in his homeland, to someone like Nana—living in a fantasy world—it came across as oddly compelling.

Whether she truly believed it was another matter. But given Tang Si's previous performance, even if he claimed he had lost his former strength, Nana didn't dare question it.

"I am the master of death. Yet in this world, there exists a faction so arrogant they dare claim to act in the name of the Death God. This is a blasphemy against death—and against me. I will not allow this so-called Holy Spirit Cult to continue existing. This world, like my past one, should return to the rightful ruler of death—me. And you, with your spectral powers, are the first servant I acknowledge in this world. The first who can assist me."

"Master."

Nana responded without hesitation. A flicker of surprise flashed in Tang Si's eyes, but he nodded with satisfaction.

To Nana, it no longer mattered what kind of being Tang Si was. Even if he wasn't human—even if he was dangerous. As long as he could help her escape the abyss of the Holy Spirit Cult, she didn't care what she had to become. Even if following him led her into another abyss.

And deep down, Nana truly felt that maybe Tang Si could help her. If he could just help her free her parents' souls, she would already be content.

"You've made a wise choice. Since you're now my servant, as your master, I must also give you something in return. Come with me."

Tang Si spoke indifferently, then turned and walked out of the restroom in long strides. Nana hesitated briefly, then quickly followed, her attitude now cautious and respectful.

As Tang Si stepped into the crowded hallway of the teaching building, Nana instinctively wanted to warn him that someone might see him. But to her astonishment, she realized the other students were walking past without even noticing Tang Si—as if he didn't exist.

This was the Soul Engineering Department's building, where many Soul Kings and Soul Emperors—both soul masters and engineers—studied. That Tang Si could completely hide his presence from them all deepened the reverence in Nana's heart.

Tang Si led her into an empty classroom. He stared coldly at her and said bluntly,

"Since you're my servant now, I will need you to do things for me. But I won't treat you unfairly. Your parents' souls are imprisoned in the Holy Spirit Cult's branch, correct?"

Nana nodded, hatred burning in her eyes. Every time she visited that dark, evil place, she could hear the agonizing cries of her parents' souls.

"Then, as proof that I will not mistreat you, I shall allow your parents to live again in this world. Of course, not as the living—but as the dead."

Nana froze.

'Rebirth? That's impossible...'

"Master, do you truly have such power?"

Tang Si let out a cold laugh.

"Hmph. Even I, who once ruled death, cannot return the dead to life in living form. But allowing their souls to inhabit undead bodies and continue existing in this world... that's simple for me. So, what do you say?"

Overjoyed, Nana dropped to her knees and kowtowed without hesitation. Her voice trembled as she said,

"If Master can truly do this, Nana promises to serve you for life—to follow you always, to assist you and fulfill your greatness. In my heart, you are the supreme sovereign!"
