Chapter 473: Chapter 472: The Storm Caused by Meng Hongchen

Walking through the campus hand-in-hand with Meng Hongchen, Qian Ran learned that she had been restricted by Jing Hongchen these past few days. Otherwise, she would have come looking for him earlier.

For this charming girl he had met during the Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament, Qian Ran did feel some interest.

However, he had been too preoccupied lately—too many admirers, too little time. He hadn't even sorted things out with Orange yet, let alone sought out anyone else.

The Sun-Moon Empire's hospitality had been so overwhelming that Qian Ran had almost more than he could handle.

"Didn't you ever think about coming to see me?" Meng Hongchen asked, puffing her cheeks in annoyance as she glared at him.

What upset her wasn't so much Qian Ran's flirtatious nature but rather his apparent lack of concern for her.

She had already investigated Qian Ran's reputation as a shameless flirt after the tournament. Though today's scene had left her flustered, she had reluctantly accepted it.

Meng Hongchen didn't believe for a moment that Qian Ran intended to marry every woman he flirted with—she had never met a man who wasn't at least a little flirtatious.

"Uh… I've been busy," Qian Ran said with an awkward smile.

Though he seemed to be enjoying himself every day, he truly had been busy. He was being pushed to his limits. If things kept going this way, even his remarkable stamina might not hold up.

Thankfully, Nana had been taking care of him, preparing all sorts of nutritious meals to help him recover.

"Busy? Or just too busy enjoying yourself with those girls?" Meng Hongchen huffed, pouting indignantly.

"No way! I've been studying soul tool designs these past few days. Those girls? They're just people your academy assigned to me—they've got nothing to do with me. I mean, what am I supposed to do? They come to my room, and I'm not supposed to interact with them?" Qian Ran shrugged.

"Hmph, fine." Meng Hongchen thought about it and had to admit that Qian Ran had a point. Given his flirtatious tendencies, it was almost as if the academy had deliberately set him up for failure.

She decided she would have a serious talk with her grandfather about this.

"Mengmeng, you're special to me," Qian Ran said, slipping an arm around Meng Hongchen's slender waist. Not bad.

At seventeen or eighteen, she was at that perfect age—youthful yet mature.

She was far more charming than her brother Xiao Hongchen.

"Oh…" Meng Hongchen's face turned scarlet, her heart racing. She had intended to confront Qian Ran with a slew of questions, but now she was too flustered to say a word. She hadn't expected Qian Ran to act so bold so quickly.

Amidst her shyness, a trace of worry crept in.

Was she being too easy?

Her friends had warned her that men wouldn't treasure someone who gave in too easily.

But how could she push Qian Ran away now? She couldn't bear the thought of it, nor did she want to anger him.

In truth, Meng Hongchen was far too inexperienced compared to Qian Ran, who was a seasoned player in matters of the heart. Meng Hongchen's feelings for him made her an easy target for his advances.

This time, Qian Ran didn't intend to take it slow like he had with Orange. He opted for a direct approach.

For one, he and Meng Hongchen had already known each other for years—there was no need to delay. Secondly, Qian Ran couldn't deny that he felt a thrill of conquest seeing how much Meng Hongchen had grown into a stunning beauty.

To hell with Xiao Hongchen's warning to stay away from his sister!

Qian Ran had every intention of doing the opposite, and thoroughly at that.

When Xiao Hongchen returned from Shrek Academy, his sister Meng Hongchen would already belong to Qian Ran.

As they walked, many students recognized Meng Hongchen, causing her to grow even more flustered. She kept her head down, letting Qian Ran lead her by the hand.

Meng Hongchen's reputation far exceeded Nana's. As the granddaughter of Jing Hongchen and one of the academy's top talents, she was practically a campus legend.

If word got out that Qian Ran, a foreign exchange student, had so brazenly claimed their beloved Meng Hongchen, chaos would ensue.

Especially given Qian Ran's previous escapades—stealing Nana's heart, flaunting beautiful companions on campus. The fallout could be catastrophic.

"I think I'm in trouble," Qian Ran muttered as he hurriedly pulled Meng Hongchen away from the crowded areas. He found a secluded grassy spot and sat down, pulling her down beside him.

He had already sensed several murderous glares directed at him. By tomorrow, news of him holding Meng Hongchen's hand would spread like wildfire.

The Sun-Moon Academy students already resented the Shrek exchange students. Qian Ran, who had been stealing their women left and right, would undoubtedly become their number one target.

"Serves you right for being such a womanizer!" Meng Hongchen laughed, her tone tinged with pride. She enjoyed her popularity at the academy—her beauty, talent, and family background made her nearly untouchable.

"Let's be honest, Mengmeng. If I weren't such a womanizer, would you even have a chance with me?" Qian Ran teased, rolling his eyes.

If he were the faithful type, dozens—if not hundreds—of girls would have been heartbroken by unrequited love.

"Narcissist. You think I can't live without you?" Meng Hongchen turned her head away, though her earlier annoyance had completely melted.

She realized that if Qian Ran weren't as he was, they might never have ended up like this.

And this closeness, this happiness—they were worth it.

Meng Hongchen didn't care for so-called "pure" boys. She wouldn't have waited so long for Qian Ran if she did.

Qian Ran didn't respond but instead looked down at Meng Hongchen's small, snow-white feet. Her five dainty toes were perfectly aligned, her slender feet exuding a delicate charm.

Even her feet, he thought, could captivate countless admirers—himself included.

Nana had many strengths, but her feet weren't one of them. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with them, but her tall stature meant her feet were proportionately larger.

Qian Ran wasn't into anything extreme like bound feet, which he found grotesque. Still, smaller feet were undeniably more attractive.

But, as he mused, it was all about balance. A woman with both long legs and tiny feet would likely look disproportionate.
