Dominate the Super Bowl

Chapter 1196: Plain Mirage

Putt putt putt, putt putt putt.

"Mr. Li, watch your head."

The gentleman in the suit slightly bowed, motioning for Li Wei to bend down and be mindful of the rapidly spinning rotor overhead—

After arriving at the airport by private jet, they directly switched to a helicopter to go to the hotel, bypassing all ground traffic and leaving the media bustling in the arrival hall with nothing, showcasing the luxury and prestige of this heart city on the vast lands of the West. For Li Wei, this was indeed a first.

Li Wei looked at the gentleman in the suit, "Add an Aston Martin to it, and it's wholly James Bond style."

Just a little joke, yet the gentleman in the suit politely looked at Li Wei, "Mr. Li, do you require that? If so, we can arrange it."

Treating it seriously, the joke loses its humor.

But Li Wei didn't mind, he shrugged lightly, "If that's the case, would Mercedes-Benz dock my pay then?"

Pfft.

The staff on the other side couldn't help themselves and burst into laughter.

However, the gentleman in the suit was still very earnest, "I didn't know Mr. Li worried about being docked pay."

Li Wei, "Are you implying I have too much money to spend?"

Gentleman in the suit, "Yes."

Li Wei: …

Li Wei, rarely at a loss for words, finally couldn't help but burst into laughter, "Once wealth accumulates to a certain level, it just becomes a meaningless string of numbers, right?"

This trip to Austin was at Hamilton's invitation, to watch the Formula One race held there.

When Mercedes-Benz learned of Hamilton's invitation, they welcomed it with open arms.

Even in the absence of Hamilton, Mercedes-Benz had been considering this visit as Li Wei's global influence continued to rise, hoping to invite him to their Formula One team and pit stop, further enhancing the brand representative's intimacy.

Now, seeing the top racer from the Mercedes-Benz Formula One team and their official brand ambassador building a friendship, the brand couldn't be happier.

Therefore, even before Donald Yee could help coordinate, Mercedes-Benz eagerly took over all reception duties, welcoming Li Wei to Austin.

From the airport parking pad, Mercedes-Benz displayed their grand hospitality.

Not only did they provide a private butler, but also a private helicopter to escort Li Wei to the hotel.

Finally, the helicopter took off, breaching the gently descending sunset, with the roaring sounds echoing through the orange-hued skies.

Through the cabin window, the cityscape unfolded like a painting beneath his feet.

When people think of Texas, the cities that come to mind are often Dallas or Houston; even San Antonio rings more bells. However, Austin is indeed the capital of Texas, quietly radiating its own splendor.

From afar, the Colorado River slowly appeared in sight like a winding blue ribbon, with sunlight unobstructedly glistening on its surface, casting shimmering light across the parks and forests on its banks. Lush greenery stretches endlessly along the plains.

Moving forward, the familiar cityscape gradually emerged, with rows of high-rise buildings outlining a modern skyline, interlaced with the vast, desolate horizon. Rolling hills created an undulating movement, perfectly blending the city with nature.

Amidst the bustling modern high-rise buildings, a distinctive red-brown dome building stood out, bathing in sunlight and capturing the city's focus. The marks of time and history left their imprints on the building's exterior, chronicling hasty history—

That must be the Texas State Capitol.

As the helicopter entered the downtown area, the city's diversity was unmistakably displayed through the view.

The eastern part occupied by residential and industrial areas, while the western part featured rolling hills and lush lakes, with mansions and villas dotted along the winding lakeshores. Marinas filled with yachts and speedboats exuded a leisurely lifestyle, reflecting the city's cultural depth.

Lifting the chin slightly upward, towards the city's edge, something resembling a crop circle appeared. That must be the renowned American Circuit—

The venue for the Formula One race.

Viewed from above, its outline and track were vividly etched, like a grand, majestic stamp on this vast land.

If not left by the Giants, then by aliens quietly depositing footprints.

Meanwhile, the gentleman in the suit was introducing the scenery ahead to Li Wei, yet his voice was drowned out by the city's bustle, needing no explanation, as language felt so inadequate. What one's eyes and ears capture served as the best description:

This is a city born for revelry.

Perhaps outsiders don't quite understand as they've never genuinely delved into Austin; however, a brief exploration easily unveils why it's lauded as the "Live Music Capital of the World."

Slightly different from Austria's Salzburg, Austin belongs to street music.

According to statistics, this city ranks highest on the North American continent for per capita music venues, with bars, theaters, and opera houses adorning every street and alley. Performers can be spotted everywhere from restaurants to the streets, with artists ranging from independent singers to niche bands.

Every March, Austin becomes a paradise for independent art lovers—

The SXSW Festival, covering film, music, theater, technology, and more. Thousands of musicians and filmmakers from around the world, along with numerous record labels and film companies, partake in thousands of performances and events, revelling, adventuring, and celebrating.

Nature, city, music, and clamor, seamlessly woven together.

No wonder!

Li Wei finally grasped why Formula One had chosen this place for its North American event.

Actually, Austin doesn't host any Big Four professional league teams; the most beloved here are the University of Texas at Austin Longhorns in NCAA, with competitive basketball, baseball, and football teams, the latter being the most influential and impactful—that's the sum of it.

Yet, Formula One still selected here.

A city with music coursing through its veins.

"Welcome!"

The helicopter slowly landed onto the tarmac, and without even descending, Hamilton, leading a large entourage, was visibly awaiting.

Interestingly enough, it wasn't Hamilton who initially approached but another suit-and-tie gentleman, carrying an aura of authority.

"Norbert Weisser, representing the Mercedes-Benz North America team, warmly welcomes you."

Li Wei was somewhat taken aback; just a public relations event to watch the races, yet Mercedes-Benz placed so much importance on it, "Sorry, I didn't come here to give a lecture. I'm not mentally prepared—should I leave now?"

A small joke suddenly brought out a smile from Weisser, "No wonder everyone says Professor is approachable, witty, and humorous. Truly seeing is believing."

Li Wei tilted his head, "They say Germans have no sense of humor, but that seems to be quite an exaggeration."

A playful back and forth led to an outbreak of laughter.
