Divine Luck: SSS-Rank Battle Maid Harem

Chapter 602: White And Blue

Anerias did not possess the same purity of fire energy as Violina did with ice energy. But his contract with the fire-clad Blackfire Hound gave him a skill that let him create fire out of his hands. At first, it had been a temperature-neutral flame that only caused pain.

Over the years, Anerias had honed his mastery over the skill and gained the ability to adjust both the temperature and the pain. Usually, there was no need to remove the extra pain it caused when fighting someone. But the fire could be useful when making campfires or grilling food. He didn't need pain for that.

So, he learned how to create a pure flame.

Right now, he was spreading that pure, gentle flame around Violina's body, pushing the ice energy around and reining it in. He stopped it from going on a rampage and helped it gradually settle within Violina, becoming hers once again.

When he was done, the dust of the collapsed snow and ice from the wall had faded. But war hadn't broken out. His friends and the underworlders stood where they had been standing before the wall crumbled.

Anerias slowly rose and handed Violina to her familiars as he looked toward the other side of what had once been the ice wall.

He saw the people who had attacked them through the tunnel the last time. The white-clad people in robes with square hats and veils over their faces. He could feel their animosity from where they stood.

That was the part that confused Anerias. Why were they just standing there?

However, he had a feeling he knew why when his gaze shifted. Beside the white-clad ones was an order of people in light blue. It could have been the color of the sky, but Anerias knew it as the color of ice. That explained how they had managed to get through the ice wall.

The group of people who used strange attacks that seemed to target their very being weren't very good at dealing with the ice wall, so they had asked for help from someone who was.

Anerias then saw a table in the middle of the two different factions. The Apostle was sitting there with his head of shiny white hair and condescending look.

Next to him was a woman with icy blue hair, draped in a fur-lined blue coat, and a knight in full plate armor standing behind the woman. The leader of the icy faction and her guardian knight.

Anerias glanced at Zach and Monolith.

There were two chairs not in use at the table where the two leaders were sitting.

It was unexpected, considering the frenzy of the white-clad people, but it looked like they were inviting them for a conversation.

"What do we do?" Nessa asked, glancing at Zach. Zach didn't answer for a while. He stared at the Apostle with his Eyes of Truth, trying to get a read on his strength.

It was hard. It wasn't that the Apostle was unreasonably strong. If he were, Zach's eyes would have stung like when he looked at the Hydra or the principal. That wasn't the case. It was just that the Apostle could somehow block his eyes.

It was the same with all of them.

Since they were from another continent, Zach first thought that it was because of their way of life that he couldn't see it properly. It was different from the strength he was used to analyzing. But that wasn't it.

The energy that they all used blocked his Eyes of Truth. It was somehow superior to the skill that even worked on someone like the Hydra or the principal. He was confused.

That meant he wanted answers. To get them, there was only one thing he could do.

"It looks like they want to talk. Let's talk." He walked forward.

Nessa, Anerias, their smaller familiars, and Monolith followed him.

Zach could feel the eyes of everyone on the other side sizing them up. His familiars ended up attracting a lot of attention. Extraordinary beauty was the same regardless of continent, apparently.

That said, the two leaders of the two factions weren't ugly themselves. Zach glanced at them.

Mandra glanced at an orb in the middle of the table before leaning in and whispering something in Zach's ear. He nodded.

A second later, magic flashed from Mandra's hands.

The knight behind the icy woman drew his sword, and energy sparkled in the Apostle's eyes.

"Translation magic," Zach explained as he pulled out a chair and sat down calmly.

The Apostle snorted and retracted his energy. The paladin sheathed his sword.

None on Zach's side had reacted to their reactions. They had fallen for the bait and show their tension.

"That's what the orb was for," The woman said, pointing at the orb Mandra had already noticed.

"I know," Zach answered, meeting the woman's gaze.

Now that he was close to them, he could tell that the blue-clad ones weren't using the exact same energy as the white-clad ones were using. It was similar but with different attributes. It was interesting. He wondered how the others felt looking at the two, especially the Apostle. He had a lot of the energy.

The pressure they gave off was enough for him to feel it. Nessa and Anerias didn't outwardly seem too bothered by it, but he could tell they were struggling. Surprisingly, Monolith was also struggling with it.

Zach snapped his fingers with a burst of world essence energy, dispelling the pressure from the foreigners.

They were shocked. The only one who could hide their surprise was the paladin with armor covering their face. The woman and the Apostle could not. Their eyes widened. The woman's mouth opened slightly. The Apostle's surprise quickly turned to hostility as he looked at Zach warily.

"You…I was under the impression that this place did not have the blessings of any gods," The woman said after overcoming her surprise.

This time, it was Zach's turn to be surprised. But he didn't show it.

"What gave you that impression? Aren't you looking right at one?" He asked with a cold smile. A little bullshit never hurt anybody.
