Chapter 247: [247] JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Premieres! (9)

Chapter 247: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Premieres! (9)

At the Imperial Mage Academy, the mages gathered to discuss the bizarre stone mask that had recently surfaced.

"What exactly is this thing? Why does it sprout spikes when blood touches it? What's the principle behind it?"

"No idea. Could there be some kind of rune mechanism inside? Maybe it triggers a chain reaction upon contact with blood, activating the spikes?"

"If that's the case, it's pretty useless, isn't it? Who would wear a mask and let blood drip onto it at the same time?"

"Yeah, the mask's function is way too strange. It doesn't really seem like a weapon, but I can't think of any other explanation."

"Maybe it's a torture device? Some special eras had weird tools like this."

"Even if it's a torture device, wouldn't this thing just blow a person's skull off?"

"Either way, there's got to be some important purpose behind this mask."

"Dio actually wants to use this mask to fake Jonathan's cause of death. What a unique idea, though I suppose it's not entirely wrong."

"He probably won't succeed, though. I can already picture Dio and Jonathan fighting, with Dio getting completely defeated in the end."

"..."

And so, the mages continued their discussion.

To them, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure lacked the brilliance and complexity of previous works like Fate/Zero and Steins;Gate.

After all, most of the key characters in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure were somewhat stereotypical, with a clear distinction between good and evil.

In such a theatrical setting, the plot naturally held little suspense. Even if the villain wasn't defeated immediately, their eventual downfall by the end of the film seemed inevitable.

However, a predictable storyline didn't mean the plot couldn't be exciting.

In fact, in some ways, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure managed to stir up more anticipation and excitement among the audience.

Even the picky mages found themselves swept up in the fresh, exhilarating atmosphere of the film, feeling a long-lost surge of passion.

This kind of movie, where viewers could completely shut off their brains and ride the protagonist's wild emotional journey, proved surprisingly appealing — even to these logic-driven magicians.

...

Meanwhile, at the Duke's residence in the southern region...

Duke Constantine, watching the movie, suddenly asked, "Didn't Durin say this film was about vampires? Why haven't I seen anything about vampires yet?"

Everyone present, including Daphne, was visibly puzzled. It was clear they had no idea why a movie supposedly centered on vampires hadn't introduced any vampire elements so far.

As they remained confused, Arcueid, still focused on the unfolding plot, spoke thoughtfully:

"Perhaps the vampire content has been there from the very beginning."

"???"

Neither Duke Constantine nor the others understood what she meant. They all wore expressions of bewilderment, unable to comprehend why she would say such a thing.

In the movie, the plot of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure continued to unfold.

After exposing Dio's conspiracy, Jonathan, carrying the medicine he took from Dio, set off to the notorious street known as "Ogre Street" to track down the source of the drugs.

Determined, he vowed to find the evidence of Dio's crimes and obtain the antidote to protect the Joestar family.

As he walked through the street and ventured deeper into Ogre Street, danger was, of course, waiting for him.

A group of local thugs charged at him from a distance, intending to rob the newcomer, Jonathan.

However, Jonathan showed no fear. With a swift motion, he grabbed the blade of one thug's knife.

"You... are you insane? Aren't you afraid I'll slice your fingers off?"

"You can try, but the moment you strike, I'll kick your balls so hard with my log-like legs that you won't be able to walk! Even if I lose a few fingers, I won't be afraid because I'm protecting my father, my family! My reason for fighting is on a whole different level than yours!"

With that, Jonathan knocked out two of the thugs.

The last thug, dressed in a suit, called out from a distance:

"I heard you don't care if you lose four fingers, huh? Well, try dodging this!"

He threw his top hat, and to Jonathan's surprise, the edge of the hat was lined with razor-sharp blades!

Jonathan, without flinching, took the blow head-on, his arm mangled, but still managed to kick the thug flying!

Though this was a simple scene, the inner monologues of the thugs and the use of time-stop explanations throughout the fight created a fresh and exciting form of combat in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, adding an unexpected level of thrill.

At least most of the audience didn't feel bothered by this new style of narration; instead, they were more engrossed in the story.

Soon after, with the last thug's monologue echoing in the background, Jonathan emerged victorious from the fight.

However, as soon as the battle seemed to settle, more thugs began to pour in from all directions, releasing an overwhelming hostility toward Jonathan, like a swarm of cannibalistic fiends.

Just as Jonathan was ready to fight to the death, the thug he had knocked out earlier suddenly rose, shouting loudly:

"Stop! Anyone who dares to lay a hand on this gentleman will have to answer to me, Speedwagon!"

" Gentleman?"

Jonathan was confused, not understanding why the thug would say such a thing.

The man, who called himself Speedwagon, declared:

"I have a question for you. Why didn't you use your full strength in that kick? With your power, you could've shattered my face."

"I came here for my father, and when I kicked, I thought about how you also have parents, and I didn't want to make your father sad."

"..."

Surprised by such an innocent response, Speedwagon felt a deep admiration for Jonathan and, in turn, decided to assist him in finding the person behind the drug trade.

Meanwhile, Dio, drowning his sorrow in alcohol, was lost in confusion and despair, unsure if JoJo was really dead or not, and spent his days wallowing in uncertainty.

At that moment, Dio encountered two thugs who were causing him trouble on the street. Frustrated, he decided to test the effects of the stone mask on them.

Dio placed the mask onto one thug's face and used a knife to cut across the other thug's cheek.

Immediately, the bright red blood stained the mask...
