Chapter 246: [246] JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Premieres! (8)

Chapter 246: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Premieres! (8)

Amidst the audience's expectant gazes, the movie's plot continued to unfold.

This time, the timeline jumped forward once again—seven years into the future.

By this point, Jonathan had grown into a strong and charismatic young man, highly popular among his peers.

Dio, too, remained a prominent figure in the school.

Over the years, their relationship seemed to have improved, to the extent that they even participated in competitions together.

To the outside world, the two appeared to be the closest of friends, like brothers.

But deep down, only Jonathan and Dio knew the thick wall of resentment that still stood between them.

Time passed, and Jonathan and Dio returned from school to the Joestar mansion, only to find that Lord Joestar had fallen gravely ill.

Dio persuaded Lord Joestar not to go to the hospital, insisting that he would recover better at home.

After some consideration, Lord Joestar agreed.

Meanwhile, upon returning home, Jonathan began researching the strange mask.

Seven years ago, he was the only one who had seen it change after it came into contact with Dio's blood, but he couldn't understand the significance of that transformation.

In his pursuit of answers, Jonathan scoured the mansion's library for information. Unexpectedly, he stumbled upon an ancient letter.

As he read its contents, Jonathan's expression shifted dramatically—what he discovered was a horrifying truth.

"Could it be… Dio?!"

Consumed by disbelief and suspicion, Jonathan immediately rushed to the stairway, where he happened to catch Dio in the act of secretly swapping out a packet of medicine.

"Dio! What's in that packet of medicine?!" Jonathan demanded.

Caught off guard by Jonathan's sudden appearance, Dio froze for a moment before quickly composing himself. With a calm demeanor, he replied:

"What are you talking about?"

"Dio, have you been the one giving Father his medicine this whole time?"

"Yes, why do you ask?"

"I accidentally found a letter your father sent seven years ago. Shall I read it aloud to you?" Jonathan said, raising his voice as he continued:

"'I'm sick now, and I'll probably die soon—I know it myself. I don't know what this illness is. My chest hurts, my fingers swell, and I keep coughing!' Dio, these symptoms match Father's condition almost exactly! What's going on here?!"

Upon hearing Jonathan's words, Dio let out a sigh and set the medicine down in his hand. His voice turned icy as he responded:

"What exactly are you trying to say?"

"I'm going to inspect that packet of medicine!" Jonathan declared, reaching for the packet beside Dio.

But Dio quickly blocked him, raising his voice:

"Jojo, if you check this medicine, it means you're doubting the bond of our friendship. Do you really want to throw away everything we've built? Come on, Jojo, just leave the medicine alone and forget about these foolish thoughts of yours!"

Faced with Dio's words, Jonathan hesitated for a moment before replying firmly:

"Dio, as a gentleman, I demand you swear upon the name of your late father, Dario Brando! If you can swear on his honor that you are innocent, I'll put the medicine back and never bring this up again."

At this, Dio's face twisted into an expression of anger rarely seen before. Trembling with rage, he shouted:

"How dare you ask me to swear upon his name?! Don't misunderstand—what honor could a scumbag like him possibly have?!"

With that, Dio lashed out, punching Jonathan squarely in the face.

But Jonathan remained completely unfazed. His voice cold and resolute, he said:

"My suspicion has now become certainty, Dio. Your agitation and hatred are far from ordinary. Whatever happened between you and your father, one thing is clear—you're nothing but a patricidal beast!"

"I will protect my father and safeguard the Joestar family," Jonathan continued. Without hesitation, he grabbed Dio and hurled him off the second floor.

Standing tall, his voice cutting through the air like steel, he declared:

"Dio, I already know what you've been thinking these past seven years. There was never any real friendship between us. I won't let you near Father ever again. Once I analyze the contents of this medicine, I'll make sure to send you straight to prison!"

With this, Dio was left with no room to maneuver.

Jonathan brought in specialized doctors and alerted the police to ensure Lord Joestar's safety.

As for Dio, his hatred for his late father burned hotter than ever. The despicable actions of Dario Brando in the past fueled Dio's uncontrollable rage, which in turn caused his meticulously laid plans to unravel completely.

After much deliberation, Dio resolved to take preemptive action.

He decided to eliminate Jonathan entirely, destroying any evidence of the crime.

The method he chose was none other than the ancient Stone Mask. Dio planned to use it to pierce through Jonathan's body, then stage the scene to make it appear as though Jonathan had accidentally killed himself while studying the artifact.

...

Compared to earlier scenes, this part of the movie unfolds with much more intensity. In front of the now-grown Jonathan, Dio's crimes are laid bare, exposed fully to the light of day.

Although Dio's act of poisoning Lord Joestar further fueled the audience's anger towards him, the subsequent depiction of Dio's past offered some insight into how his childhood experiences shaped his malevolent character.

Still, for the vast majority of viewers, any sympathy they might have felt evaporated completely the moment Dio decided to take action against Jonathan. At this point, a significant portion of the audience was simply waiting for Dio to meet his end.

"Dio is absolutely despicable! Lord Joestar raised him for seven years, and after all that kindness, he still poisoned him to seize the inheritance!"

"Yeah, and who would've thought that he even poisoned his own father? Though that guy was trash and deserved what he got, Dio's cunning and ruthlessness are still terrifying."

"A wolf in sheep's clothing—someone like him can never be trusted. If I met someone like that in real life, I'd stay as far away as possible!"

"I hope nothing happens to Jonathan. Dio's methods are so underhanded—it's really nerve-wracking!"

"More than that, I'm worried about that Stone Mask. There's something ominous about it. It's terrifying to think what could happen if it stays in Dio's hands."

"I'm so tense right now… This is intense!"

"..."

Faced with the gripping, fast-paced plot, the audience couldn't relax for a single moment, their eyes glued to the screen.

Everyone wanted to know whether Dio's sinister plan would succeed. After all, the Joestars were good people, and if they were to fall victim to Dio's schemes, it would be an unbearable tragedy for most viewers.

However, while ordinary viewers were on edge, the focus of the mages from the Imperial Mage Academy was quite different.

Though they had been discussing the plot earlier, their attention now was entirely fixated on the Stone Mask in Dio's possession.

A mask that sprouts eerie spikes when blood is spilled naturally piqued their curiosity about the principles behind its creation…
