Dimensional Trader in Marvel

Chapter 189: Chapter 188: As of today, I'm in charge! (1)

"Go to hell, you bastard!" At the bottom of the mine, a Wakandan guard charged at his enemy with a weapon in hand. The enemy, however, simply sidestepped the attack with ease and then a metallic arm grabbed the guard's weapon hand and twisted it violently.

The Wakandan warrior could only scream in pain as he dropped his weapon.

The next moment, the other hand reached out and snapped his neck.

Having finished with the guard, the figure raised his head and looked toward the central building in the mine.

In the middle section of the building was a shattered area—this was where Peggy Carter and two other Super Soldiers had broken in.

"You two go to the records room. I'll go to the jail and find the detained prisoners!" Carter instructed Luke and Andrew in a stairwell.

After infiltrating the building, they captured a few employees for a brief interrogation. They learned the location of the records room, where Wakanda stored all of its vibranium technology, and the prison, where high-level criminals were being held.

However, the two locations were on different floors—one upstairs and the other downstairs.

Since the floors weren't too far apart, there was no need to break through the glass walls again to move between them.

Carter quickly made the decision to split up.

"No problem!" Luke and Andrew exchanged glances, having no objections to Carter's plan—they were more than happy to separate from her.

As subordinates of the Council, they were naturally inclined to secure benefits for their real boss. The Wakandan technological data was undoubtedly the best prize.

In comparison, the rescue of the Zodiac agents of the Federal Republic was merely a CIA task, and its success or failure was irrelevant to them. Since Carter was willing to do it, they were happy to let her take the lead. (TL/N: Federal Republic is the one from Yugoslavia if anyone forget :) )

The group immediately split into two teams.

Carter sprinted downstairs, descending three floors to reach the high-security prison.

Upon arrival, Carter noticed that the number of prisoners held here was more than she had expected.

All of the cell doors were made of vibranium glass, similar to the exterior walls of the building, making them extremely strong.

However, due to the limited density of the material, Carter's Vibranium sword could still easily cut through them.

"Wow, someone actually broke into Wakanda's prison? Looks like it's a Brit with a shield and a sword... Are you a Knight of the Round Table? A female Knight of the Round Table! Or perhaps the British version of "Joan of Arc"? A pale-skinned man with a shadowy demeanor suddenly whistled at her from a cell as she took down some guards and began to search the prison.

Carter just glanced at him, ignored the comment, and continued searching for her brother's cell.

The man didn't seem to mind and casually leaned back in the corner of his cell, watching her as she moved around.

To Carter's surprise, after a thorough search, she found no sign of her brother or the other two Federal Republic agents.

Had the Wakandans deceived her?

Peggy Carter fell into a deep thought.

"Wow, looks like our British Joan of Arc is in trouble," the man remarked again.

"Who are you? Why are you locked in here?" Carter finally turned to him and asked coldly.

"Good question. My name is Fritz, Fritz Klaue—a simple adventurer from Belis," the man shrugged and introduced himself. "If I'm not mistaken, you're looking for some agents of the Federal Republic, right?" (TL/N: Father of Ulysses Klaw)

"You know where they are?" Carter's eyes lit up at the words.

"Of course, ma'am, but talking through this vibranium glass isn't exactly ideal," Fritz said, pointing to the cell door in front of him.

Without a word, Carter raised her sword and easily shattered the door.

"Ah, the taste of freedom! Six years! Those damn savages kept me locked in that tiny cage for six years. Do you have any idea what I've been through? Those damn barbarians!" Fritz stepped out of the cell, took a deep breath, and began to complain to Carter.

"I don't care how long you've been here or why. All I care about is where those Federal Republic agents are. Tell me, or else..." Carter interrupted, pointing her sword at his throat.

"Oh, ma'am, relax a little. I'll take you there right now, but you have to promise to do me a small favor!" Faced with Carter's threats, Fritz quickly raised his hands in surrender. From his earlier observations, he already knew that Carter's shield and sword were made of vibranium, and that her skills were terrifyingly powerful. Even Carter's towering height of over six feet made him feel an oppressive pressure.

In this situation, he'd have to be crazy to fight her.

Besides, if he wanted to leave this place, he'd probably need the help of this "Knight of the Round Table." After all, there was no way he could fight off those Wakandan guards on his own.

"Hurry!" Carter drew her sword as she shouted a single word.

"Of course, follow me. By the way, what's going on outside? Are you from the British government? Did Britain go to war with Wakanda? I guess the British lost. No, wait. Since you were able to break in here, and considering how panicked those Wakandans were earlier, does that mean Britain won? But that doesn't make sense. Before I was captured, the British were driven into the sea by the Germans. How could they defeat Wakanda, which might even be stronger than Germany?" Fritz babbled as he led Carter through the building.

"Shut up. If you say another word, I'll cut your tongue out. I'm sure you can still lead me to the person I'm looking for, even if you can't talk!" Carter snapped angrily, obviously tired of his endless chatter.

"All right, all right, I'll be quiet!" Seeing Carter's anger, Fritz immediately shut up. But after taking a few steps, he suddenly stopped.

"What's wrong?" Carter frowned and asked.

"Uh, is that man your companion?" Fritz pointed to the other end of the hallway.

Carter froze for a moment, then followed his gaze. She saw a large man breaking the neck of a Wakandan guard. Around him lay the bodies of several other guards.

The man wore a black mask that hid his face, but his physique looked oddly familiar to Carter. She frowned, trying to remember where she had seen him before.

"Oh, looks like someone else has broken in here, too. Two forces infiltrating Wakanda at the same time—something big must be happening here that I don't know about. But... it's quite entertaining!" Fritz chuckled mischievously as he watched Carter's expression.

Just then, the figure at the other end of the corridor seemed to notice them. He turned his icy, emotionless gaze in their direction.

But since his target didn't seem to be Carter or Fritz, he didn't make a move toward them, instead headed upstairs.

As the man moved, Carter caught a glimpse of his left arm, which shimmered with a metallic sheen. That, combined with his familiar build, caused a name to flash in Carter's mind.

"Bucky? Is that you?" Carter instinctively called to the figure.

But the man ignored her and continued walking.

"Looks like you got the wrong person," Fritz remarked with a raised eyebrow.

Carter remained silent, her frown deepening. The man's resemblance to Bucky was uncanny, and they both had a prosthetic left arm.

More importantly, the direction he was heading seemed to lead to the research lab and archives.

This didn't seem like a coincidence. Carter couldn't help but wonder if Luke and Andrew could handle him.

Then again, she quickly dismissed the thought. Luke and Andrew were super soldiers, just like her. No matter who this person was, she didn't think he could take on two super-soldiers at once.

"Stop wasting time and take me to the people I'm looking for!" Carter yelled at Fritz, deciding to concentrate on her mission for now.

"Alright, turn right up ahead. That's the medical center. The three Yugoslavians are being held there!" Fritz said hurriedly.

"Wait, the medical center? Why are they being held there?" Carter asked, confused.

"It's simple. These three Yugoslavians seem to have been injected with some kind of drug. While they're still alive, their condition is unstable. The Wakandans were curious and wanted to study them," Fritz explained.

Hearing this, Carter immediately thought of the mission briefing. It had mentioned that the Zodiac agents might have undergone some sort of biochemical experiment that turned them into super-soldier-like beings.

Now, hearing Fritz say that the three agents were unstable, Carter couldn't help but feel a sense of concern.

As a fellow Super Soldier, she knew all too well the risks involved. Of the ten people in her program, only five had survived, and even then, two were left in a half-dead state due to the drug's side effects.

Naturally, she was concerned about her brother Michael's condition.

Soon, under Fritz's guidance, Carter found the medical center after taking out a squad of Wakandan guards who had discovered them.

Unlike other places, however, this area had no security whatsoever.

In one corner of the medical center, in an isolation room, three people were being held.

"Peggy? Is that you?" One of them exclaimed in disbelief upon seeing Carter.
