Dimensional Kaguya Ōtsutsuki

Chapter 598: Drinking?

"What are you thinking about?"

At that moment, a familiar voice came from behind as a hand patted Kaguya's shoulder.

Kaguya turned around and saw it was Akira Mado.

"Nothing much, just letting my thoughts wander." Kaguya smiled and said casually.

"You don't have to feel sad for them," Akira turned her gaze to the countless tombstones before them and said calmly. "When they joined CCG and became investigators, they were already prepared for such an ending. Dying on the battlefield… perhaps that's what they've always longed for."

Feel sad for them?

Kaguya scoffed inwardly. They were just a bunch of nobodies. If they died, they died—what did it have to do with her? However, since Akira seemed to misunderstand, Kaguya didn't bother to explain.

After a brief pause, Kaguya asked, "Do you really think she did it?"

Though she didn't specify who "she" was, it was obvious she was referring to "Akatsuki," or perhaps herself. She was curious to know what Akira and the others truly thought about the situation.

"Of course not," Akira replied matter-of-factly, without hesitation.

Kaguya was taken aback and quickly asked, "Why are you so sure?"

"Even an idiot could figure this out," Akira said, tapping Kaguya's forehead lightly. "Isn't it obvious?"

"Huh?" Kaguya felt even more confused. "What exactly is so obvious?"

Akira sighed and looked at Kaguya as if she were looking at a fool. "You usually seem pretty sharp, so why are you acting so dumb now? Could it be because you haven't eaten?"

Kaguya was speechless. It was the first time someone had called her foolish, but more importantly—how did Akira know she hadn't eaten?

Due to ghoul biology, human food provided minimal nourishment, and those twin freeloaders at home ate a lot to stay satisfied. With Kaguya's financial situation being a bit tight lately, most of the food she bought had ended up in their stomachs, making things even more miserable for her.

"So, what's your theory?" Kaguya, intrigued by Akira's thoughts, pressed further.

"This should be crystal clear by now," Akira replied. "If it were truly Akatsuki, a single member would have been enough. Just like the destruction they caused before—one move, and the entire CCG organization would be wiped out. There's no need for such a complicated plan. Instead, they waited until most of CCG's forces were deployed to attack the Tsukiyama family. That's just not their style. And leaving their logo painted on the walls? That's an obvious attempt to frame them."

Kaguya thought for a moment and realized it made perfect sense. If it had been her, a simple Chibaku Tensei (Planetary Devastation) would have sufficed—no need for all this complexity.

"So, it's clear this wasn't Akatsuki's doing. They wouldn't lower themselves to such tactics. That means the conclusion is simple," Akira turned her gaze back to the snow-covered tombstones. "This was orchestrated by some ghoul organization trying to stir things up."

"Hmm, hmm." Kaguya couldn't help but nod in agreement. As expected of Akira, she had seen through the conspiracy with a single glance.

Akira and Kaguya walked side by side when Akira suddenly turned her head and asked, "Are you free later?"

"I'm free," Kaguya replied. "I don't really have anything to do anyway."

Due to the severe losses CCG had suffered, they were currently focused on rebuilding efforts. Other investigators were busy gathering useful intelligence, but Kaguya had no interest in such tasks and had no intention of getting involved.

"That's great! If you're free, let's go have a drink," Akira said with a bright smile.

"Huh?" Kaguya looked surprised. "What's got you so happy today? You seem especially cheerful."

"Of course I'm happy," Akira said, her eyes narrowing with joy. "I just received news from the hospital that my father, who had been in a coma, has finally woken up. His condition isn't too bad, although it seems like he's suffered some memory loss."

Father…

Kaguya froze for a moment, and then her face darkened.

If she remembered correctly, Akira's father was Kureo Mado—the very man she had beaten into a vegetative state. She had assumed that even if he didn't die, he would remain bedridden for life. Who would have thought he would recover?

If Akira ever found out that her father ended up like that because of Kaguya…

Kaguya could already envision the bleak and miserable future that awaited her.

Should she head to the hospital now and finish him off—oh no, she meant her dear "father-in-law"?

"Since you're free, let's head out now." Akira smiled and playfully linked arms with Kaguya.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, a group of figures stood on a distant tower, watching them. Among them were Tatara, and Rize Kamishiro.

"I didn't expect that guy to make a sudden move," Rize said with a hint of amusement in her tone as she observed the scene below.

"It seems he still hasn't figured out who his true opponent is," Tatara remarked calmly. "Only a madman would do something so reckless."

"That guy's always been a self-righteous lunatic," Rize sneered, crossing her arms. "I saw it clearly back when we were in the orphanage. But honestly, I'm more interested in that one. She looks really interesting... It's been so long since I've had such a delicious meal. I can't wait any longer." She traced a finger gently over her lips.

"What should we do now?" Rize asked.

Tatara replied. "I have a plan, but the timing isn't right."

"I'm really looking forward to it," Rize said, her eyes sparkling like stars, filled with a dangerous allure.

Tatara seemed to notice the excitement in Rize's expression and turned to her with a serious look. "For now, don't act impulsively. I hope you can restrain yourself."

"Of course, don't worry," Rize said, the corners of her lips curling into a meaningful smile.

...

...

The Kekkei Mōra is a special ability that surpasses both the Kekkei Genkai and Kekkei Tōta, allowing the user to control all five elemental chakra natures—fire, wind, earth, water, and lightning. Additionally, it grants powerful regenerative and resistance capabilities, making it arguably the most perfect physique in Naruto.

Ever since Kaguya acquired the Kekkei Mōra, there were hardly any challenges she couldn't overcome. However, if there was one thing she was not good at, it was drinking.

Before she transmigrated, Kaguya's alcohol tolerance had been incredibly poor—commonly referred to as a "one-drink knockout." After just a few drinks, she'd be at the level where she could sleep alongside pigs in a pigsty.

Having not consumed alcohol for a long time, Kaguya had forgotten about this. Moreover, Japanese sake, brewed from rice, had a relatively low alcohol content. It had a mild aroma and lacked the harsh, throat-burning sensation of stronger liquors like baijiu.

And so, tragedy struck. The seemingly delicate and gentle Akira turned out to have an astonishing alcohol tolerance. After downing several bottles, she remained perfectly composed, her face unchanged, while Kaguya was already sprawled on the table, face flushed red, resembling a passed-out pig.

"How about another drink?" Akira smiled as she reached for the ceramic sake bottle on the table, pouring the clear liquid into Kaguya's cup.

"I can't drink anymore," Kaguya slurred, her head spinning.

"So, you've finally reached your limit?" Akira set the bottle down and said, "Alright then, let's call it a night and head home early."

"Who said I'm done?" Kaguya sat up in a panic, her face even redder. "A man can accept anything, but never being told he can't drink! Who said I'm not up for it?" Saying this, she grabbed the sake bottle and began chugging it down.

"Man?" Akira blinked in confusion, then widened her eyes in shock. "Wait, that's—"

Before Akira could finish, Kaguya had already drained the entire bottle in several large gulps.

"That's high-proof baijiu!" Akira said helplessly. "Are you alright?"

"I'm... I'm fine," Kaguya mumbled, her words slurred. She swayed slightly, obviously not fine at all.

"Alright, as long as you're okay," Akira sighed in relief, seeing that Kaguya was still conscious.

But before she could truly relax, Kaguya suddenly collapsed onto the table with a loud thud, snoring away in deep sleep.

"Seriously, such poor alcohol tolerance, yet still so stubborn," Akira said with a chuckle, looking at the soundly sleeping Kaguya.

The night had grown late. Akira stood up, preparing to help Kaguya home. However, after a brief moment of hesitation, her expression shifted between uncertainty and resolve. Finally, she leaned down and softly whispered into Kaguya's ear, "What's your real name?"

"Kaguya," Kaguya murmured indistinctly.

Akira was momentarily stunned. Could she be pretending to be asleep and deliberately saying the wrong name?

But looking at Kaguya's drunken and completely relaxed appearance, she seemed genuinely unconscious.

"And where are you from?" Akira continued to probe, her gaze fixed intently on Kaguya.

"The Imperial Capital."

"Imperial Capital?" Akira thought with some surprise. "Could she have been born abroad?"

However, these trivial details were not her main concern. What she truly wanted to ask was yet to come.

"Then..." Akira hesitated for a moment before finally asking, "Was it you who attacked the CCG?"

"No," Kaguya mumbled indistinctly. She seemed uncomfortable with the table pressing against her and shifted her position, only to turn back again, likely feeling bloated.

Hearing Kaguya's answer, Akira chuckled inwardly at her own paranoia. How could someone like Kaguya possibly orchestrate an attack on the CCG? Besides, she had been with her the whole time during the incident, making it physically impossible for her to have carried out the attack.

That left just one last thing to confirm.

Akira pursed her lips, hesitating before asking, "Was it you who injured my father?"

She stared nervously at the slightly intoxicated Kaguya, afraid of hearing an unwanted answer. If it was true, then what should she do? Would she have to cut ties with Kaguya?

However, after waiting for a while without receiving a response, Akira leaned in and saw Kaguya drooling in her sleep, already fast asleep.

For some reason, Akira let out a long breath of relief. Perhaps this outcome was for the best—otherwise, she truly wouldn't know how to handle it.

"I like you... I like..." Kaguya mumbled in her sleep, her delicate face slightly flushed as she lay sprawled across the table.

Akira couldn't help but chuckle. This drunken side of Kaguya was rather endearing; she never expected her to have such a cute side.

If Kaguya weren't a girl... maybe she could actually fall for her.

Akira found herself lost in thought for a moment.

Originally, she intended to take Kaguya home, but seeing her drunk and completely passed out, she figured it would be impossible to get her address. With no other option, she decided to take Kaguya to her own place for the night.

By the time they arrived at Akira's home, it was already late at night. The surroundings were pitch black and eerily quiet, with only the howling wind breaking the silence.

Although Kaguya was surprisingly light, almost weightless, carrying her all the way had left Akira exhausted.

After placing Kaguya on the bed, Akira was drenched in sweat.

"Just carrying her this far was so exhausting. I really need to strengthen my training," Akira thought to herself. She turned to glance at Kaguya, who was still sound asleep, and couldn't help but smile.

Feeling sticky from the sweat, Akira undid her clothes. Her jacket and blouse slid off her shoulders, followed by her pants pooling around her ankles, leaving her in only her underwear. She walked over to the wardrobe and gazed at her reflection in the mirror, admiring her own well-proportioned figure.

If there was anything she was truly satisfied with, it was her body. Her figure had perfect curves, something that wasn't evident when she wore her work uniform, but once stripped down, her stunning physique was revealed.

She raised her fair arms, reaching behind her to unclasp her bra. As the fabric slid down her body, her supple curves bounced free. Within seconds, her silk panties also slipped down to the floor.

Just as she was admiring her own perfect figure in the mirror, a pair of hands suddenly reached out from behind her.

In a moment of shock, before she could react, she was pulled into a warm embrace.
