Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

Lower Rank Five was utterly shocked by this sudden turn of events. His eyes and mouth gaped open, and his hands trembled uncontrollably.

The {female demon} watching from the sidelines was also taken aback by Nezuko's appearance.

She mused, "That demon slayer's box actually held a girl, but her aura isn't human; she's a {demon}!"

"Nezuko!" Tanjiro, completely unprepared for Nezuko's intervention and the life-threatening attack she had just blocked, cried out in fear and anxiety.

Nezuko, having likely suffered significant blood loss from deflecting the attack, fell back into a deep sleep, collapsing onto Tanjiro's chest.

Tanjiro immediately caught Nezuko, gently laying her down on a tree trunk.

"Nezuko! Nezuko! I'm so sorry! Oniichan let you protect me again!" Tanjiro apologized profusely to the unconscious Nezuko, filled with self-reproach.

Tanjiro's attention was completely focused on Nezuko, utterly disregarding Lower Rank Five.

Lower Rank Five's entire body trembled, his gaze fixed intensely on Tanjiro and Nezuko.

He raised a trembling hand, pointing at Nezuko, and asked in a wavering voice, "That... that woman... is she your sister?"

"So what?! You monster! You injured Nezuko like this, it's unforgivable! I'll kill you!" Tanjiro raged, his anger blazing.

"Sister... sister... sister..." Lower Rank Five repeated the word incessantly. The {female demon}, noticing Rui's erratic behavior, called out, "Rui? What's wrong?"

"His sister became a {demon}? Even though she's a {demon}, they're still together."

"A sister protecting her brother—that's true kinship! I want it! I want it! I want it! I must have it!"

Lower Rank Five's madness escalated. The {female demon}, having witnessed Rui's volatile nature and his history of discarding "family members," felt a chilling sense of foreboding.

If Rui obtained Nezuko as a "family member," she would undoubtedly be next to be discarded.

"Rui~ I'm your sister! Please don't abandon me! Please don't leave me!" the {female demon} begged desperately.

"Shut up!"

Lower Rank Five roared in furious displeasure, violently lashing out towards the {female demon}. Three razor-sharp silk threads shot forth.

The threads instantly sliced the {female demon} into several pieces.

The threads then embedded themselves in the ground, creating a massive dust cloud, and nearby trees were severed at their midpoints.

This display of power far surpassed his previous attacks on Tanjiro. Even with Nezuko's intervention.

Tanjiro would almost certainly have been dismembered had Lower Rank Five unleashed this attack earlier.
