Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

"Why are you doing this to her? As fellow beings, why are you hurting each other? Especially since she's a girl!"

In that tense moment, Tanjiro, impulsively, spoke up for the abused {female demon}.

Only Tanjiro's extreme kindness would lead him to such a statement. Who else would show concern for a demon?

The {female demon} visibly flinched, seemingly surprised and perhaps even moved by Tanjiro's words. She glanced at him.

A demon slayer showing compassion for a demon? In the demon's eyes, it was a miracle.

"Fellow beings?" Lower Rank Five, toying with a spiderweb he'd woven, scoffed. "Don't compare us to those with weak ties! My sister and I are family, bound by a powerful connection. Besides, this is between my sister and me. If you meddle, I'll cut you to pieces!"

Lower Rank Five suddenly lunged towards Tanjiro, a thin strand of spider silk shooting from his finger. The silk sliced through a nearby tree trunk, causing it to fall.

The display of power sent shivers down Tanjiro's spine. A single touch of that silk would have been fatal.

Tanjiro gritted his teeth, determined to correct the demon's warped thinking.

"That's not true. Whether family or not, bonds are precious. A lack of blood relation doesn't mean weak bonds. That's wrong!"

"And those bound by strong ties emanate trust. But from you two, I only sense fear, hatred, and disgust. That's not a bond; it's twisted, a false bond!"

Tanjiro's words shattered the illusion of a loving family that Lower Rank Five had constructed.

Lower Rank Five was plunged into despair, his carefully maintained façade crumbling.

His expression turned dark and sinister. "You brat—"

Before he could finish, a Demon Slayer emerged from the nearby woods. His uniform bore a Kanoe, indicating a rank two levels above Tanjiro's.

"Oh~ Finally, some demons! Two of them, even! These little demon brats will be easy to handle!" The Kanoe-rank Slayer, excited, drew his sword, ready to strike.

His confidence stemmed from his inability to gauge Lower Rank Five's strength and a misjudgment of the situation.

He assumed Tanjiro had already fought the demons and, knowing Tanjiro was a low-ranking Mizunoe-rank Slayer, felt even more confident.

"Wait!" Tanjiro urgently tried to stop the Slayer, knowing the boy before them was no ordinary demon, but a member of the Twelve Kizuki.
