Gray Pov.
Gray woke up the next day after a night of nightmares of the events of the day before.
He got up and went to the bathroom to take a hot shower washing away the worries of the day before.
Soon enough Gray was feeling refreshed then got dressed.
He then left the room heading to the Center cafeteria finally releasing Trap at the table.
"It's time for breakfast Trap."
"Trapinch" Trap grinned then clacked its jaws
"Yes, I'll get you something to eat." Gray walked over to get some food for himself and Trap.
The buffet had several options for humans and pokemon. the human options included bacon, eggs, berries, and cereal. The human options changed from day to day.
The pokemon section had options of pellets for every type of pokemon as well as an assortment of berries.
Gray grabbed himself some bacon eggs and an Oran berry for trap he grabbed pellets for ground types and a few Pecha berries for Trap.
Gray walked to the table and began to chop the Pecha berries up and mix them into the pellets before setting it down in front of Trap. In delight Trap began to eat.
"Today we will start with training right after breakfast."
Gray started to eat.
Gray and Trap walked into the Training field. there were several other people here training and battling.
They walked to an empty spot.
"Let's start on the training for the first offensive ground type moves I have two in mind for you to learn the first one is called bulldoze which you will stomp on the ground to make it shake tripping a target slowing down all who are effected. The second one is called Mud-slap which basically is you hurling mud into the targets face blinding them. Mud-slap is going to be easier to use and the training will use mud till you figure out how to make mud with Ground energy. As for Bulldoze we are in for the same problem with energy and it simply won't work without the energy unlike Mud-slap which can work without if you are in the right environment. Which one we start with it up to you."
Trap thought for a while "Trap trap trapinch" he said with sparkling eyes.
"Ok we will start with Bulldoze stomp the ground as hard as you can try to make everything shake." Gray moved away
With a nod Trapinch lifted his upper body slamming into the ground with a cracking sound of his carapace covered foot hitting the ground.
"Good start that stomp was solid. The next step is to move energy to your feet before stomping. My best guess would be to imagine the energy moving to your feet. The guide I read wasn't too specific saying to encourage the use of ground type energy so that you should be able to make your foot glow before stomping it into the ground making the radius shake. I believe closing your eyes to focus on your inner energy should be what you do and move it to your feet."
Trap nodded before closing his eyes.
It took about 10 minutes before his two front feet started glowing.
"Good job Trap now stomp." Gray said excitedly
Trap opened his eyes then stomped the ground barely shook
"Good job although that took way too long, we will have to work on that after we get to Rustboro city. Now let us get some water to practice the second move I want you to learn the instructions were quite clear how to train it now follow me."
Gray and Trap headed to the pond behind the Pokemon Center.
Gray walked to the pond and gathered water and poured it on the ground making several trips to get the spot nice and wet.
"I'll demonstrate how to use Mud Slap then I want you to use this mud to practice till there isn't any more mud."
Gray used his hand and flung some mud in demonstration.
Gray then stepped away "It's your turn have fun."
Trap began to fling mud with great joy.
It was a few hours later Gray resetting the mud ever so often that finally Trap flung mud without the help of the mud.
"You did it good job just so you know this is the same method for Sand Attack although Mud Slap is pretty much a step up from Sand Attack although You will need a proper understanding of it for the eventual sandstorms you will be able to use that Flygon is also known for. Now let us get a run in before we head in for the night."
It was an hour later that they finished running and exercises that they were exhausted and ready to stop for the day.
"That will be enough for the day." Gray panted to catch his breath. "Tomorrow we will be leaving and heading toward the ocean to the entrance to Petalburg Woods. For now, let us head to the Pokemon Center to eat and get some rest."
Gray and Trap headed to the Pokemon Center
"Hey Gray before you get too far, I want to check that egg you have." the Nurse asks
"Yes, Auntie I'll be back soon so you can check it."
Gray heads to his room to grab the egg and brings it back out so the Nurse can check it out.
On his way back the egg shakes twice
"Here you go." Gray hands the egg over
"What a peculiar egg. I can deduce that it's a grass type but what it is, is the mystery. Norman said you were handed the egg, so I need to check its health and since it's a grass type egg it will need lots of sunlight to hatch. I'll just be a few minutes."
The nurse walked away, and Gray sat down to wait with Trap.
Several minutes of waiting later the Nurse came out and handed the egg back to Gray.
"Your egg is healthy and fairly close to hatching within the next week.
