Blood splattered on the remaining four Lower Moons. Three of them, excluding Enmu, felt unprecedented terror, unsure if they would be next.
Wakuraba's thoughts: How could this happen? Will I be killed? I finally became a Lower Moon… why? Why? I must become stronger…
Before Wakuraba could finish his thought, Muzan Kibutsuji, standing on the platform, spoke. "Are you more afraid of me or the Demon Slayers?"
"Not you!" Mukago, the first to respond, was on the verge of collapse. Death was preferable to Muzan Kibutsuji's relentless pressure, despite her fear of death.
But Muzan Kibutsuji's retort silenced her. "You try to run whenever you encounter a Hashira."
"No, that's not true. I'll fight to the death for you," Mukago pleaded, desperately trying to survive.
Muzan Kibutsuji didn't believe her. As Mukago's eyes widened, she was devoured, just like Kamanue.
Wakuraba realized Muzan Kibutsuji could read their minds. Whether they admitted or denied the truth, they would be killed, and they were no match for him.
He decided to flee.
Rising from his knees, Wakuraba vanished in a flash of speed, darting through Infinity Castle, desperate to escape Muzan Kibutsuji's grasp.
"How foolish," Enmu sneered, watching Wakuraba flee.
Wakuraba's thoughts: I have to run! If I don't, I'm done for! I've run far enough, I should be safe.
"Rip!"
Just as he thought he was safe, the sound of tearing fabric echoed. His head appeared in Muzan Kibutsuji's hand.
"Only the Upper Moons are needed. Disband the Lower Moons," Muzan Kibutsuji declared, seemingly ignoring Wakuraba's severed head.
Wakuraba, held by his severed head, felt utter terror and helplessness. His fate was sealed.
"Any last words?" Muzan Kibutsuji callously tossed Wakuraba's head before the remaining two Lower Moons.
"I… I can still serve you!" Rokuro, the second strongest Lower Moon, stammered. "Please, give me more time. I will…"
Muzan Kibutsuji interrupted. "Be specific. How much time? What can you do? With your current abilities, what's possible?"
"Blood!" Rokuro pleaded. "Give me some of your blood. I'll adapt and become stronger, fighting for you."
Veins bulged on Muzan Kibutsuji's face. "Why should I listen to you? You think I'll just give you blood? You're audacious! Know your place!"
Rokuro weakly tried to explain, but Muzan Kibutsuji cut him off.
"Nothing is wrong. I am always right. The decision rests solely with me. You have no right to refuse. I say I'm right, and that is the truth. Attempting to command me is a death sentence!"
Blood flowed from the platform's edge. Rokuro was dead. Only Enmu remained.
"Any last words?" Muzan Kibutsuji asked impassively.
Unlike the others, Enmu showed no fear, only extreme adoration for Muzan Kibutsuji.
"Please allow me a moment," Enmu said, hands clasped. "It's like a dream. To be killed by you, to hear the other demons' death throes…
I'm happy, blessed. I enjoy others' misfortune and suffering. I dream of it. Thank you for letting me live until the end."
Muzan Kibutsuji, reading Enmu's mind, found his words sincere.
"Rip!"
Enormous, spiked arms pierced Enmu's neck, Muzan Kibutsuji's blood flowing into him.
Overwhelmed by the blood, Enmu collapsed, convulsing, groaning in agony.
"Good, I'll give you more of my blood," Muzan Kibutsuji said, a chilling smile on his face.
"You might die from the overload, but if you adapt, you'll become stronger and serve me, killing the Hashira."
He pointed at his earlobe. "Kill the Demon Slayer with the flower-shaped earrings, and you'll receive even more."
Enmu, convulsing and spitting blood, felt a strange ecstasy amidst the agony, reveling in the surging power and Muzan Kibutsuji's might.
"Clang!"
The biwa's music echoed. Muzan Kibutsuji vanished, disappearing behind countless closing shoji screens. Enmu, still struggling, fell through a suddenly opened screen into darkness.
