Demon Lord: Erotic Adventure in Another World

Chapter 590: We No Longer Stand Alone

Asmodeus sat in the cold chamber he chose for his war council, a massive table in the shape of a circle, big enough for all his women and allies. Paul, Simon, Vinea, Levia, Asmodea, Velvet, Alice, Erika, Sariel, Riel, Yumiko and Yuina, while Lumina hung from her webbing above their heads.

The candles flickered as he observed everyone with a faint smile.

Although it wasn't elegant, the war table was pretty, a rough black stone with various engravings and a crack in the corner.

This room was a fortress, not a court for weak nobles...

Velvet stood at his right, fully armoured for once—her belly flat, but his knowing gaze kept drifting there anyway. Levia sat across from them, legs crossed, her paladin robes undone at the throat, revealing a glimpse of her alluring pale mounds.

Yumiko took the other seat beside him, wearing a beast empire kimono and teasing Asmodeus using her tails. Vinea, who sat on the third seat, wore a black lace gown, silently sitting with arms folded.

At the far side of the table, two demon knights stood rigid—Renya, his captain, and the silent Ygrenne who scowled at Simon.

Asmodeus placed both palms on the stone and stared down at the crude map they'd etched into the surface. He traced the continent. "Ten days," he said. "That's how long we have to prepare before the fleet arrives on our shores."

Renya nodded sharply before placing a pile of documents in front of each seated member. The title and layout were quite advanced. "Our scouts confirmed the movement of ships regrouping beyond the Wardline. Repairs, reinforcements, and at least four war barges equipped with Imperial cannons."

"Lovely~ I was looking forward to something spicy." Yumiko bounced on her seat, the pages of cannons and reinforcements open in front of her. "What do you think, Levia?"

Levia's fingers tapped the table. "The defensive walls are still half-formed. The outer wards are unstable. If they attack with high impact ranged artillery—"

"We'll never survive another head-on," Velvet interrupted. "If possible, since most of our knights can fly, we should form an aerial unit that can attack their ships... and destroy the cannons!" Happy about her idea, she banged the desk with a confident smile.

"That's a good method, rather... very good." Asmodeus tapped the table, looking at the various members. "Velvet can you handle the airforce?" He didn't want to divert too many people towards it, but if she took care of it. He somehow felt she wouldn't fail...

"I can create an additional barrier... but it would depend on those willing to help me." Levia closed her eyes and then looked at Asmdoeus. "If you give me permission, I could make a few of the Demon Knights in Paladins... Master."

That's a good idea...

To think that Levia already planned to make more Paladins at first, I thought she might refuse to do that to remain special.

"Good, you may do so."

Asmodeus looked at Vinea, who bit her lip while reading the documents, until she spoke up.

"I can take part in the landing operation if you need it."

"So you want to go with Velvet?"

"...Yes, I believe that my wings and speed might help in destroying the cannons."

"I see."

The offer wasn't bad, but he also needed to avoid neglecting the beach and city defence if their fleet managed to get to the port or coast.

"Do it." He said after sighing.

"What about the adventurer's Simon, Paul?"

His two dear friends sat opposite him while wearing the knight armour of the Demon Empire. He didn't know when they made the switch, but both men defected to him from Grigor. That didn't mean they became hostile suddenly...

It was just a choice based on their future potential and chances.

Paul leaned forward, scanning the papers before him with a scowl. "Some of these ships carry anti-aerial turrets. If they open fire before our flyers close in, we'll be chewing through shrapnel."

"We're not birds, Paul." Velvet grinned. "Our wings are stronger and armour thicker."

Simon gave a slow nod, tapping a clawed gauntlet on the edge of the table. "But she's right. These aren't merchant vessels. The Grand Duke's bringing heavy artillery and weapons from the mainland capital… if he's this serious, we should expect casters too."

"Warlocks?" asked Yumiko, ears flicking.

Simon shrugged. "Maybe worse.... at least Holy Knights and High Priests are bad for us, right?" He shrugged. After taking more demon blood, he became stronger, but also realised that holy damage hurt him more than before.

It was Paul who suggested that the Demon Knights should train against multiple magic elements to gain even a minor resistance against them.

Asmodeus always listened and considered Paul and Simon's words; they taught him how to survive and fight, and he admired and respected them.

"Paul, you and Simon will take command of the Eastern Wall and the militia camps near the port," Asmodeus said, his tone absolute. "Train them however you see fit. If they break formation, they die first. We can't afford weakness in the second line."

The militia were just a group of former human guards and the adventurers who didn't accept his blood, so Asmodeus didn't put a large price on their lives.

"You got it, boss," Paul replied with a casual salute.

Simon simply nodded. "We'll harden them."

"Erika, Sariel and Riel—" Asmodeus turned toward the trio seated further down the curve of the table, each one meeting his gaze with attentive eyes. "You three will form a mobile force that supports the first and second walls when needed. Take up to a hundred Demon Knights. Hit-and-run tactics only. I won't forgive any of you if you get a single wound!"

"Master..."

"Darling!"

"Asmodeus... I will protect them." Riel stopped calling him Master after she adjusted to her body, instead calling his name with a reverent and affectionate tone.

"I'll take the northern wall where it curves," Alice offered.

Asmodeus nodded slowly.

The circle was closing.

Piece by piece, the battlefield was forming in his mind. Thin lines. Fragile plans. But behind each of them… monsters.

His monsters.

"This won't be a siege," he finally said, looking around the circle. "It'll be an execution."

Lumina stirred above, her voice echoing like silk unravelling.

"What about me, dear husband?"

Asmodeus smiled at her slow movements; he already knew her condition after speaking with the midwife and other priestesses who helped treat her.

"Lumina, can you make deep traps along the pier? I don't want you to overwork yourself."

"Husband..." The cheeks of the pale-skinned spider flushed red. She tapped the table with all eight legs, twirled around, and her spider abdomen was slightly larger than usual as she ascended back into her webbing and wrapped herself inside. "I will do as you will."

Different from a spider, the Arachne would allow the fertilised eggs to develop for the same time as a human woman, before laying them in a safe place, until the baby Arachne would be born as pure spiders, and grow rapidly into an Arachne over a few months.

It seems I won't see her during this period.

Lumina would only leave her den when all the children could speak and move independently.

"Be safe, Lumina."

The council had ended, the last candles dying out as the heavy door closed behind the final knight. Silence returned to the chamber, and Asmodeus remained seated alone at the war table, fingers trailing the old battle lines scratched into its surface.

He closed his eyes with a smile.

The warmth of his women lingered faintly in the air: the perfume from Yumiko's tail oil, the divine scent of Levia's aura, the subtle heat of Velvet's demon body still buzzing against his skin.

"I see you're still here, Sariel."

He called out to the Succubus, her blue skin, cotton candy pink hair and vibrant eyes peeking at him from the door.

The Succubus looked at Asmodeus as though she wanted to speak; he could read it from her lips, how they wobbled open before she closed them again, how she shifted back and forth, gripping her dress.

"Come to me, Sariel."

With open arms, he beckoned her.

Sariel swallowed the lump in her throat, stepping into the chamber before taking flight with her wings, and flying into his chest, her soft body and sweet pheremones flowing through the air. "Master~ i just wanted..."

Before she could finish, he hugged her tightly, "You missed me, right?"

"H-Huh?!" A flush covered Sariel's cheeks, but he gently stroked her hair, feeling the silk-like texture and smelling the faint scent that tickled his nose.

"You always act like this... so don't feel bad about seeking me out, Sariel. I am always here for you and Riel."

The Succubus shivered, tears brimming in her eyes as she nodded, before burying her face in his chest once more and inhaling deeply. "I will be strong and support you as much as possible..."

"I am happy even if you just play around and love me."

"Hmph... well, I still want to fight to help you."

Asmodeus sighed with a smile; it seems that he and his women had more in common than he realised: a deep love for battle and proving themselves not to mention their strong affection for each other.

"Then..."

He took a deep breath, while Sariel tilted her head, confused.

"Please help me, Sariel."

A simple question and request, but the moment he asked, her face brightened, and she pushed her face into his chest.

"I will!"
