DC: The Dark One

Chapter 7: Battle

As darkness enveloped the area I made the spell circle in, it began to surround me, eating me up, as the image of the Amazon came to mind. Now, the spell would locate her, but whether or not I could teleport to the person's exact location was up for debate. For all I knew, I could wind up in the air, falling to my death. How the original Rumpelstiltskin accomplished his own teleportation trick of appearing out of nowhere I didn't know.

Perhaps it had to do with his ability to see the future and know what was about to happen. He knew where he needed to go and when to teleport or where he needed to go. Either that or the magic between this universe and the originals had far less in common beyond similar effects of certain spells. Well, I was still new to all this and even then I still knew a thing or two thanks to the dagger.

I digress soon enough the darkness began to condense into the tree, centering on the bloody palm print. From it a mirror formed using the blood as the glass and the darkness as the outer rim. Inside the mirror, I saw an image appearing, an image of a plane cockpit with a pilot talking to someone on their radio I was assuming. They were a handsome blonde-haired man with blue eyes.

Something about the man was familiar but I couldn't remember, but since it was Wonder Woman I was assuming they were related one way or another. This particular Locator spell was a fickle mistress, it could show you the person or someone related to them, or perhaps not at all. Hard to tell with this spell, as it doesn't tell you whether or not it did.

Well, I just had to trust it for right now and once the spell was completed I dismissed the image, and it revealed the location. It looked like they were flying over a city, somewhere in France. Well, it was good enough for right now, and using my blood as the ink, I began drawing a triangle over the blood mirror, which wasn't as hard as you'd think considering it was a near-reflective surface that was just pink at this point.

I then began repeating what I just did for the locater spell and using the blood to teleport to their location. Hopefully on the ground and not in the middle of a battle or at least in the middle of where it was happening. Would've preferred the method I just used for teleportation but well didn't want to risk getting stuck in something or appearing in the air.

Then the world changed around me as the ground turned into destroyed city streets and destroyed buildings appeared all around me. Near my boots were the remains of German soldiers although I could tell a few of them were knocked out a few of them others were killed either through blunt force or good old-fashioned bullets. It did make some sense, a few of the superheroes probably made a vow not to kill or something like that. Beings like Wonder Woman or Hawkman probably had less qualms about the subject, knowing that sometimes choices had to be made.

Didn't mean they had to like doing it, quite a difference between their morality and the other members. Making my way across the battlefield I made it a habit to try and stay out of sight. Rather avoid a head-on fight for right now at least, didn't know how durable my body was. I knew that the dagger made you kind of immortal but whether or not that included regeneration or not was anyone's guess.

Eventually, I made my way to a particularly open field, one that had Nazi soldiers lined up shooting at someone. Behind them a bit far into the back was a German tank, and well I couldn't pass up an opportunity to test a bit of magic on them. Conjuring a small fireball, I aimed right at the cylinder as I believed it got ready to fire. So with a wave of my hand, I tossed it right inside, letting the fire fly through the cylinder as it fired a shell casting.

The tank soon enough exploded as the collision of magic and well-modern technology collided. Turns out two pieces of explosive powers colliding don't make good bedfellows. The German soldiers near it were soon caught up in the explosion, their body parts spreading across the battlefield. All the while one familiar figure made their way across the battlefield, disarming German soldiers.

She wore blue shorts well putting it politely anyway as they were perhaps a bit too short, with white stars on it and a red no-sleeved shirt with a golden eagle in the middle. She was also wearing a golden tiara and wielded a typical sword you'd see sometimes in movies that had a golden handle, and a round medium shield that had her initials on it.

She was striking down soldiers one after another with quick succession and grace. Her speed and power were extremely impressive as she moved across the battlefield, even ignoring the fact that a tank had just exploded near her. Although it was possible she was used to it by now. All the while I could hear a scream coming from far away, from where I had no idea.

Soon enough a few German soldiers came out of the destroyed buildings and saw me, alongside the various German soldiers. Well, I didn't blame them for what they tried to do next. With a wave of my hand, they froze in place and I approached one of them, seeing the fear in his eyes. Reaching my hand out into their chest, I wanted to try and see if something else had transferred over from Once Upon a Time.

Reaching into their chest, I dragged their still heart out, which was red, and even a nonmagic practitioner but believers could tell it was magical. Crushing it in my hand the soldier's eye rolled back as he died on the spot. Seeing that it worked, I pulled my dagger out and cast a little telekinesis spell on it, quickly slicing the throats of the others.

It was odd, I didn't have an aversion to death but I thought I would've felt more well something. Unfrezzeing their bodies, I heard them plop to the floor as I heard someone stop behind me, although it didn't sound like a human neither did it sound like a machine. Turning around I saw one class Flash in their classic suit, fully stopp with a neutral look on his face, but one that told me he was ready for a fight.

As my dagger returned to my, I quickly put it away and put my hands up as soon as my hands were free.

"Neat trick, didn't know a Psychic was in town."

I chuckled a little as what I just displayed could be considered a trick even a metahuman psychic could perform if they were strong enough.

"First off that's funny, second off I'm on your side or well my own side."

"its just that your interest and my own happen to align for right now."

With that he had a confused look on his face as one Wonder Woman took down the last solider, at least the last one out in the open. Meanign it was about time I started figuring out how to make a deal as I realized I might've jumped the gun a tiny bit.
